Wallacei @ Pratt Institute GAUD

Justin Heu, from the fall 2019 third-year master studio at Pratt GAUD led by Meta Brunzenma where Wallacei was taught, applied Wallacei extensively in his project to address a complex urban problem which comprised multiple objectives.
The agenda was to use the existing affordable housing infrastructure to propose a design that increases the interaction between newly generated buildings and the built structures on the site. The formal complexity of the proposed idea was set to be aligned with the existing structures on the site to prevent significant structural development and keep the project cost-efficient. The proposed design focused on building affordable housing project while increasing public infrastructure that could benefit the public i.e. variations of public open spaces on different levels, providing areas for urban farming and food creation were amongst others.
