As an avid card thrower and stone skipper I would recommend tilting the device to the left Allowing for the projectile to spin to the right and be level at mid flight, instead of when it leaves the barrel and Going to the right and loosing lift sooner

I would love to see a more lethal version of this with sharpened smaller metal disks like some kind of throwing shuriken. Although since a sharpened projectile all around the edges, there will be problem with the bow string, so maybe it need a catch guard or something.
Sharpened disc stack on a a lathe then a rubber roller (so they still spin) sled Infront of the string that stays in the weapon. It would have to have several rollers for surface area or the discs would shatter in the weapon.
I think anyone that lived though the AOL boom knows how to weaponize extra discs. You were right in modifying the disc itself but you didnt go far enough. Obviously sharpen them but also drill angled holes around the middle for rotational aerodynamics.

it's a great deal of fun but neither versions are realistic, you'd be better off keeping the bow in the first place and crafting arrows when low on ammunition.

Hi Joerg, the turn of the disc after shooting is something that is well understood in Disc Golf. It would be really interesting to see if you could match the speed of the shooter with the right frisbee to be able to throw as far as the pros!

3 was an FPS revolution in a way. Every game after it copied its ideas. 5 was a story MASTERPIECE. The idea of being stuck in Hope County with a bloodthirsty cult was just so freaking good. I had a feeling playing that game that has not been repeated yet.
Looked like those projectiles flew a lot straighter when they flipped to vertical. I know the thing in far cry 6 shoots them horizontally but I think I'd put a chainsaw style foregrip on there. Vertical bows move around easier and in this case might be a lot more accurate.
I've always wanted to see a modern version of a Staff sling in action, any chance ? The combination of flexible and strong staff with a modern sling , should be very powerful ?? thoughts ?

Well. Very interesting build. I think the Far Cry 6 CD launcher is a play on Railgun, Gauss Rifle and such: Electromagnetic propulsion of ... well ... not CD's. But this launcher (in the game) CAN possibly come from anywhere. It hasn't have to originate on the island... Maybe a proto-type built by a weapons-dealer or so. Greetings from NRW Germany.
This gives the term _CD-release_ an entirely new meaning; and finally we can defend ourselves against attacks with fresh fruit.
Both are exellent examples of a "multi-disc trays" but you bet Jorge's design plays some heavier music four times louder. :D
