It’s difficult to describe the experience of having seen this opening day in a crowded theater. On screen, this movie was alive. It was like it was actually happening. To this day, the greatest theatrical experience I’ve ever had.
It's the moment when your life loses all meaning and the footage becomes your world.
Back when reserved seating wasn’t a worldwide thing yet. Me and my best friend stood in line for around 3+ hours to get a good IMAX seat.

When I saw this movie on theater, I never saw any trailers of it at all.. I never forget the atmosphere inside the theater during the movie and especially at the end of it.. Everybody was standing and clapping.. The goosebumps was on another level.. I never felt anything like that even at Avengers Endgame premiere.. The day after, The Joker was everywhere on the internet.. The Dark Knight is absolutely a masterpiece that will live forever on top of other superhero movies.. RIP Heath Ledger..

I think I've watched this trailer over 1000 times. It's a piece of art in itself...never mind that absolute masterpiece of a film.
To me, the part where the Joker says, “You’ll see; I’ll show you,” was basically Heath Ledger promising the audience that he’ll give them a very memorable performance. He most certainly delivered on that promise.
It’s a shame that Heath Ledger himself was never able to see this masterpiece.

When i hear the Joker saying "This city deserves a better class of criminal and i'm gonna give it to them" I think of Heath Ledger sayimg "Hero movies deserved a better class of villains and I gave it to them". 10 years have been since TDK and no one has even got any close to this standar of a villain. Tom Hardy made an awesome job as Bane but to me that just gives him a solid 2nd place...

Agree, but to a certain extent. Kingpin had more screen time than the joker (since it's a series) so he had more time to develop his character, but storywise, yes. He is crucial to the plot of daredevil and he's a perfect anti thesis for the hero as well. But on par? imo, no. Kingpin comes second and kilmonger comes third on the list for me. I would say ozymandias is better than kilmonger but he's more of an anti-hero rather than a villain. Not counting villains from non superhero movies such as darth vader.
It’s hard to adequately explain how good this movie is. Everything is perfect. From the acting to the suspense to the score. It’s perfect. Not only is this the best superhero movie by far, I’d argue it’s the best movie of all time. Very few movies put every aspect of a movie together perfectly, but the Dark Knight does it. What sets it apart from other great movies is Heath Ledger’s performance. He really takes this movie to another level. I was lucky enough to see it in theaters in 2008. I’d love to see it in theaters again!

I would say its more of the first Godfather though, Part 2 jumps back and forth so much and the scale is much larger, so part 2 has more similarities to Dark Knight Rises haha

This trilogy has set the bar very high, practically impossible to overcome, even for Marvel and this is the best comic-based film made to date....the writing,the photography, the soundtrack, those actors ... they combine everything perfectly and made this masterpiece!
As a huge unbiased DC and Marvel fan I think what DC misses and Marvel has is the high production in term of the fighting scenes the production is a bit week in DC when Marvel produces insane scenes

I can still remember being 11 years old. I first saw this trailer on TV. My blood never ran so quick. Seeing the joker for the first time felt like being in space looking at its beauty first hand. We'll never get that feeling again.
These movies are so epic. They only caused one problem. Since they are so dark and were so successful, DC has tried to apply that dark tone to other heroes in the DCEU, which doesn't necessarily work especially for superman.

Over a decade old and I can still remember how I felt when I first saw Heath Ledger's Joker. Hands down the most brilliant film incarnation of the character. Those who watched it in theaters know what I'm talking about - the character just stuck to your mind for a while. 😦

I have aspergers and during my teenager years I used to be terrified of going outdoors, when I saw this trailer in the summer of 2008 I knew I had to go to my local cinema and watch it. One of the best experiences of my life.

Just finished watching the trilogy for the first time. Saw some scenes as a child, but now I finally realise why it has 9.0 on IMDb. From the cast, scenes, music, story and the message it sends I can't say anything else than that it's a MASTERPIECE.
Exactly how I felt when watching the entire trilogy for a second time, compared to when I was a kid.. just hits different now that I’m older and I actually understand the plot.. TDK especially tho, truly Is a work of art..

Saw it opening day in 70mm IMAX film at 13. The first scene was so large, crisp, and intense - the theatre was completely silent except for a few gasps. I’d never seen anything like it. The first cheek cutting scene had the audience hanging on every word wondering if the joker was really that crazy. It was the best movie I’d ever seen in the best possible viewing scenario at the perfect age to be absolutely floored. I’ve been fascinated by projection and IMAX ever since and have seen every subsequent Nolan film in that same 70mm theatre. This movie gave us brand new concepts for the movie experience, I can’t describe to you how much this movie inspired me to create my own art. Forever thankful this was made ❤

Just watched the movie again and gosh darn it its so good. The acting, the depth of story and character, the script, the grief, the cleverness, everything. And the fact that Nolan doesn't need violence or foul language and nudity to trick ppl to watch in all his movies, just pure intellect and depth of story. Freaking genius.

Nothing will ever reach this level. A flawless movie. The acting performances, the writing, the cinematography, the music, the pacing, its literally PERFECTION. If somehow the stars align, and a better Batman(or superhero movie period) comes out in my lifetime, I will be stunned
