I did this today. Very easy took me maybe 5 minutes. Just have to be patient while heating the plastic bit
I’m actually switching out the newer shifter because I like the older one 😅

Can u describe what you were doing where it took a couple of tries and you had to stick your key in the new shifter?

Hi! The quality is very good. And it is cheap. Shifting is the same as original, exept the button is on the front of knob. Great upgrade. The car was wrecked before christmas, but I bought myself a new. And I will do the same with the new one.
Has anyone done this with a used knob? I got the facelift knob on and it is clicked into the selector rod but doesn't spring back
You need to pre set it before you click it in to place. You need the red plastic thing to get it set.

Would this work on a 2012 A7 where the knob has to be pushed to the right to engage sport? I see you're shifting down from D to engage sport.
