It's truely embarassing how poorly coded TS4 is. The term ''spaghetti coding'' takes on its full meaning.

  • @littlem9865

It's because TS2 is actually a life simulation game and TS4 is a dollhouse simulation game.

  • @MissSweetie

that's because the sims 2 was a product of passion, the sims 4 is a product of greed. A product made out of passion will always surpass the product made out of greed.

I really just don't understand why they got rid of SO many animations, like it's a LIFE SIMULATOR, the animations are literally the core of the game!

I remember arguing with someone on the dreaded sims reddit, because they claimed eating takes way too long in The Sims 2. I brought up that my whole Sim families regularly eat meals together and even with all the talking it never takes longer than around 1 in-game hour. Meanwhile in The Sims 4 my single Sim plays musical chairs with his own plate, scratches his face, plays with his phone and just stares into the abyss while smiling like an idiot for solid 4 real-time minutes before he finally finishes his food. Needless to say I was blocked, but it cracked me up. Yes, animations in The Sims 2 are more complex and detailed, which can give the impression of wasting more time. But in reality The Sims 4 is just so laggy and unresponsive it takes even longer to do anything.

Im cracking up at the “Im excited to introduce you the next generation of the sims!” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

  • @CandyassGoth

The fact that Sims in sims2 don't just phase through each other like in sims4 is something I never realised to be grateful for. It creates wonderful immersion

  • @arinaarinza

The way The Sims 2 even looks better than The Sims 4

  • @user-eg4dd3bt3f

You forgot, that Sims 2 Sims adjust their Movement, if you change something in Build Mode, like adding a Door to an Wall, where in Sims 4, the Sims will still use the old Path.

I hate how plates just teleport into sims hands in ts4 and the camera is so annoying if you say live next to a mountain. It keeps jittering around

One another thing, i loved the introduction of infants in TS4, but man, they make the sims even slower and more confused, when you tell them to do something even unrelated to the infant, they cancel the action and pick them up and put the infant on the ground several times for no reason, then leave it somewhere that even with enough space, they say it is not possible to pick up the infant, and they put the infant there, what do you mean they can't pick it up, I didn't ask them to do that, And don't even get me started on trying to throw a party, no one can perform an action properly, they're all stuck smiling at nothing

  • @westanimesims

AI in the Sims 2 is FAR better than Sims 4 AI. Sims 2 Sims will make way, move around objects and even walk over small objects!

  • @CrobatmanIamthenight

GOD i did not realise how much i hate sioms 4's clicking sound effect THERES NO CHUNK TO IT, ITS SO MEAK.

  • @chaselizabeth

The “I’m excited to introduce you to the next generation of the SIMS” sound was sooo petty 😭 but so true cuz somewhere we lost the original plot of the movie fr

The freezing during or between animations part is one of my biggest bugbears with the Sims 4.

This is what I've been saying for ages. It's also amazing how in Sims 2, sims will do multiple actions with one click, for example if you have a toddler in a high chair, and you want to put them to bed all you have to do is click on the crib and the sims will take the toddler out of the high chair and put them in the crib.

I started playing sims 4 for the first time over Christmas. I was immediately disappointed. Firstly, I hate the ui, I know some people prefer it, but I think Sims 2 and 3 are much better.

  • @sherbear6625

The Sims 2 was put into love in the 2000’s while there is no love for Sims 4 and it shows

  • @anatosic7323

Also the worst thing is the speed up, and then all the sounds speed up. In the Sims 2 I listen to music while they sleep on the fastest speed, and the music is at normal speed for me. In Sims 4 if you increase the speed, you get a jumble of sounds. Who wants to listen to sped up music?! Where is the brain and why are they not using it?

Yep, you made a point here. No wonder EA deleted The Sims 2 from Origin. They would've earned far less than with The Sims 4. Even so, their milking machine doesn't seem to be working that well.
