I believe what you are discussing is what goes by the term «perfect pitch». That is not necessarily a boon for a musician, as you don’t need to know that your refrigerator is humming out a C2 sharp and your mother-in-law hovers around an exhausting E5 when she talks. However, having good pitch is definitely useful. Angelina has a lot of acapella (or partial acapella) clips that shows she has an EXCELLENT ear for pitch as well as stellar pitch control of her voice, which is not exactly the same thing. Absolutely top notch! Whether it is «perfect», I don’t know.

My conclusion is that there are no contacts involved anywhere. Instagram has filters too, and in some cases where the quality is better she might have used Photoshop to edit the pictures afterwards. There are pics where Juliette and even her baby cousin have blue eyes as well, so... I see it as just another way for AJ to express herself.

Sorry, but it's a NO from me for this cover. Angelina has done many great covers but this one is far from good. Thing is that singing is not only about lyrics and melody. It's in some cases more about the message that is being conveyed with the song. Angelina focused on interpretation, choosing colours of her voice, where to put accents and how. And at the same time for me she has completely lost the message in all this... Just an opinion :)
I don't know what the hype is all about. I find this song by Adele pretty boring. Angelina did a decent job, considering she covered the song only a few hours after it was released.

As a Norwegian old dude that know this vocal talent has been blowing my mind since she was 6 years old, I seriously think that her label should have put their foot down here (for 3 reasons). First: Angelina already is known as the "queen of covers" - which is NOT how you want to sell inn the new talent for the world, and 2) "kid dropping a cover of established superstar's new original material - that is cute when you are an amateur - Angelina Jordan is no amateur, she is signed on one of the biggest labels on the planet. 3) If you want to work in entertainment you must be "collegial". That means that you do not try to overshadow your colleague dropping new material. There is a difference between a teenage girl singing Adeles new song as a tribute, and AJ singing it on her own channel that has a million(?) followers just after. I know - teens are a bitch - I was one myself being both competitive and shy back in the day. She is balancing a pretty fine line here, taking on Adele as a mid-teenager - singing a song about failed marriage to a child. There is "coldness" in that act that a teenager must learn - and her label should advice. Someone in her family must start to advice here - even in harsh words - and explain to a 15 year old girl : "do not sing over the voice of a girl twice your age singing to her child about a marriage failing" AJ is turning a bit "bratty" on me - and I know most people like her more than Aurora from Norway and tiny youtube space of "reactors". So I will explain why I like "singer-songwriters" best. Singer-songwriters do not care how their voice sound (Bob Dylan got a Nobel price, remember). I am not coming down hard on a 15 year old girl living her pop-star dream at all. She is a 15 year old kid living her dream - just like every girl aged my age was living her dream - in the backseat of a 18 year old boy's Volvo when I was 15, picking up "likes" (Not as bitter about that as it may sound 3 decades later). Just pointing out - I like Aurora being bonkers releasing something truly insane that she conjectured herself more than "cover-channels" that I fear AJ truly may institutionalize. Every reactor knows that "original content" is something to respect. AJ is 15 and is not that mature.
Ohh, you don´t get it. It´s the other way around. Every songwriter and singer Angelina choose to cover is the lucky ones and mark my words in time it will be clear that it is that way around. I actually DO think she made her own twist to it, merely by the way she emoted it. In MY ears she sounds even more heartfelt than Adele. Give Angelina a couple days to refine this and put her in a full production studio, and not just her cell phone in her room. I'm pretty sure Angelina would blow Adels's original out of the ball park. And I'm not taking away from Adele, because she is great. Angelina herself has said that Adele is one of her biggest idols. (and maybe even fans, who knows ?? lol ) But this is the beauty of music. Definitely not copy/paste, despite being posted only hours after Adele. Different embellishments and dynamics, and VERY different on breath control, which leads to Angelina stringing together much longer phrases.
The latest mix of 'Kaleidoscope RMX' shows that Angelina could be easily on an equal footing with Adele if she wanted to. Just mix Angelina's vocals with the original backing track and everything sounds tenfold better. Now, just as poolhallshark said, imagine if she redid this in a studio...

Sorry, but it's a NO from me for this cover. Angelina has done many great covers but this one is far from good. Thing is that singing is not only about lyrics and melody. It's in some cases more about the message that is being conveyed with the song. Angelina focused on interpretation, choosing colours of her voice, where to put accents and how. And at the same time for me she has completely lost the message in all this... Just an opinion :)

As a Norwegian old dude that know this vocal talent has been blowing my mind since she was 6 years old, I seriously think that her label should have put their foot down here (for 3 reasons). First: Angelina already is known as the "queen of covers" - which is NOT how you want to sell inn the new talent for the world, and 2) "kid dropping a cover of established superstar's new original material - that is cute when you are an amateur - Angelina Jordan is no amateur, she is signed on one of the biggest labels on the planet. 3) If you want to work in entertainment you must be "collegial". That means that you do not try to overshadow your colleague dropping new material.
There is a difference between a teenage girl singing Adeles new song as a tribute, and AJ singing it on her own channel that has a million(?) followers just after.
I know - teens are a bitch - I was one myself being both competitive and shy back in the day. She is balancing a pretty fine line here, taking on Adele as a mid-teenager - singing a song about failed marriage to a child. There is "coldness" in that act that a teenager must learn - and her label should advice. Someone in her family must start to advice here - even in harsh words - and explain to a 15 year old girl : "do not sing over the voice of a girl twice your age singing to her child about a marriage failing"
AJ is turning a bit "bratty" on me - and I know most people like her more than Aurora from Norway and tiny youtube space of "reactors". So I will explain why I like "singer-songwriters" best. Singer-songwriters do not care how their voice sound (Bob Dylan got a Nobel price, remember).
I am not coming down hard on a 15 year old girl living her pop-star dream at all. She is a 15 year old kid living her dream - just like every girl aged my age was living her dream - in the backseat of a 18 year old boy's Volvo when I was 15, picking up "likes" (Not as bitter about that as it may sound 3 decades later).
Just pointing out - I like Aurora being bonkers releasing something truly insane that she conjectured herself more than "cover-channels" that I fear AJ truly may institutionalize. Every reactor knows that "original content" is something to respect. AJ is 15 and is not that mature.

I actually DO think she made her own twist to it, merely by the way she emoted it. In MY ears she sounds even more heartfelt than Adele. Give Angelina a couple days to refine this and put her in a full production studio, and not just her cell phone in her room. I'm pretty sure Angelina would blow Adels's original out of the ball park. And I'm not taking away from Adele, because she is great. Angelina herself has said that Adele is one of her biggest idols. (and maybe even fans, who knows ?? lol )

Definitely not copy/paste, despite being posted only hours after Adele. Different embellishments and dynamics, and VERY different on breath control, which leads to Angelina stringing together much longer phrases.
The latest mix of 'Kaleidoscope RMX' shows that Angelina could be easily on an equal footing with Adele if she wanted to. Just mix Angelina's vocals with the original backing track and everything sounds tenfold better. Now, just as poolhallshark said, imagine if she redid this in a studio...
FFS what is the point of covering a song within six hours of its release? There is no bandwagon this girl won't jump on, or be forced onto by her maniacal management. She hasn't even had a chance to think about it, and it shows. She certainly does not sound like Adele. I really loathed it.
