OK! Angelina has done it again. She is bringing tears to my eyes. She does that quite often. She is simply fantastic and so is Adele!
Haha, loved that tongue-in-cheek, «it was all a lie»-interview between Adele and Alan! As for all these versions, I won’t go for better or worse, but the one that impressed me the most was Francesco Perrino on the piano - and the one that warmed my heart was Angelina.
Yes, I was really lucky to get her saying 'Alan interview' and 'all a lie' in the same sentence
Well, talk about jumping on the freight train! All these artists didn't waste any time, did they, recording Adele's new song! In particular, Zendee from the Philippines, sounded exactly like Adele (!) and Francesco Parrino's piano version was incredible. The smile on his face made me believe he was actually composing his version while he was playing it! Crazy.
Your 'interview' was goofy but it was fun. In real life I would have to believe Adele's reaction to Angelina's version would be, "Oh my, here she goes again!"
Thanks, Alan, and you left out the speed in which it took you to get out your video!
This is brilliant ! I loved your last line about Alan left out the speed in which it t took him to put out the video. So much fun indeed ! But I would thank Alan for jumping on it right away and wasting no time though.
Many other times, I have been tempted to publish earlier without waiting for my usual Saturday slot to arrive. When it was suggested this week, I immediately knew it was the right thing to do.
The irony is that I could have published 24 hrs earlier if I were doing the thumbnail myself!!
Alan you have done it again. No one would get the Beaujolais without the producer and carrier and you have been the catalyst to bring them together again..... Keep going strong
I was thinking she jumped on it too quickly... but did not realize she was not the only one. That changes my opinion.. she is so amazing. So versatile. Great video Alan... you are on your game and I appreciate every session.
Adele's music was part of the soundtrack behind my fiancé and I falling in love a decade ago. Her new song is no less inspiring. But somehow, for me, it's almost as if the song was written for AJ to sing acapella. AJ here reaches directly to my heart, pulls it out and holds it aloft among rainclouds while I cry the tears of a longing I've never known. For loss, for love, forever. AJ's performance is stirring to my very soul.
Thank you, Alan, also especially for exposure to Ryan Dolan, Zendee and the male duet. Marvelous renditions. And the hysterical Adele interview edits!
And thanks for the nails on your thumbs
@@thealanpapier - Absolutely my pleasure and privilege! My weekly escape. BTW, I'm listening to your Wrapped in a Warm Blanket podcast as I type this. Great stuff
@@TeleNikon With my videos, I'm tied more to the visual and the music. With the podcast, I can unleash my more metaphysical side
@@thealanpapier - Yes, I can hear that. Enjoying that angle a great deal.

This was amazing. An amazing new song. Amazing how quickly it has flow around the world. Amazing that Angelina was able so quickly pick it up and make it (even better) her own. But most amazing how quickly Alan was able to follow the song and pick out the best covers, track down an old Adele interview to fit, and put together this video. While at the same time he was, no doubt, enjoying a glass or two of Beaujolais Nouveau. No one serves Angelina, and we her fans, better. Congratulation and our thanks to him.
Interesting how this video came about.
First, I heard AJ's cover after it appeared recommended. Then I went to Google to see who else had covered it- and it came up blank. So I then went back to TH-cam and looked for Adele's original and it said 'streamed 17 hours ago'. That alone gave me most of the idea for the video.
So back to TH-cam for 'Easy on Me' covers. And I took the very first ones at the earliest stages- just as the gardener takes the earliest shoots for the dinner table. So they were the first covers- not necessarily the best covers.
The Adele interview just fell into place after that- but not from an old interview- just from the day before
Interesting fact- I am teetotal. I don't drink. Never have. Just a habit I never developed. So no Beaujolais for me
@@thealanpapier It was amazing, but that’s about all i got right. Sorry. Please accept my apology.
Angelina Jordan is absolutely fantastic, fantastic. What a beautiful angelic voice. and as always mesmerizing rendition.
Really fun and creative "interview" with Adele. I don't know if she's heard of Angelina at all. Thousands, if not tens of thousands, have covered Adele. Should I bet, it will be a yes. Angelina's version of "A Million Years Ago" got a lot of attention. No wonder, it was an amazing version of a great song. Angelina is able to remove the imaginary filter between text and music. She makes us partakers of the intimate, naked, and sensitive story she tells. And if we cry it is because we have been able to take part in something great and beautiful.
Lots of genius on this video to deal with. Angelina is a wine that can be open at any year any time any hour, and it goes well with anything. Her wine fits all occasions at any age, truly formulated to please all palettes. Like you Alan superb at what you do sir. Thumbs up.
Sharing the Beaujolais with Adele was genius. I used to watch Sam Tsui but, hadn't seen him in a couple of years. I'd forgotten how good he is. I loved Parrino's piano piece. It's great that Adele is writing more songs for Angelina, too. I hope Angelina will let some time go by and then come out with a studio version. The talent in this world is so uplifting to witness. As much a we grumble about YT, we still get to see these miracles because of people like you.
As always a great and organized job, Alan. They are beautiful voices and the choice is almost always to replicate Adele, more than understandable given the model ... but Angelina is something else. 💛 🧡 ❤️
Nice interview! 🤣 🤣
Piano dude very impressive
Its hard to see both superstars on the same stage, but who knows? It happened some years ago when Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey had a duet singing When you believe. If Amy Whinehouse had been alive I am sure she and Angelina would have paired on stage. Great musicians but with quite different life stories! Great stuff Alan, please let it coming….
Alan , in a great way you are as marvelous as the talents you show us because you let us see a lot of things we wouldn’t have the ability/time to think on. I like your perspective and your humor.
So many people see us old folks walking around and have no idea of what we’re capable.
Encouraging, you are!
@@richardhudson9291 I see what you're doing there Jedi Master.
Wow I have to say they all sound phenomenal! Haven’t heard Angelina
yet to compare. I love Angelina’s version but I would have to listen to all of them again. Loved the duet.
Haha, special guest, I love your homour, I love your show, and I love your podcast.
Angelina my number one Singer number one of my top 10 of all the things I’ve ever heard I first saw her son is six years old and recording studio thing I have nothing I have to hear her every day That is a great humanitarian this girl is special
All beutiful renditions. But that voice... The tone of Angelina...
What an original approach here with a lie-in interview.....wow!
I'm glad to see that Angelina wasn't the only one to do a quick cover of Adele's new song. I initially thought it was a little rude to do it so quickly, but apparently it's a "thing" to do it so I hope Adele isn't upset with Angelina. I really feel the emotion of Angelina's version, but I had trouble understanding the lyrics without reading them. I hope she does a professional cover of this on her Cover Channel as it is a beautiful song.
Angelina needs to redo her version with a real cover . i could not hear the words. I did listen to one of the other 3, Tayla Lauren Muir for a minute, and I could understand every word, and she was getting good comments. I will have to listen to the other 2. I guess there will be more.
@@leebrn8588 Well, Angelina is the only one who recorded it «naturally» without any microphone or sound equipment….and filmed with her mobile phone
@@In_my_own_mind Although I could not understand what she was singing this time I am still rooting for Angelina as usual. Hope she does a studio version like "All I Ask" She was amazing .
I have just added the subtitles to Angelina's performance. It does make a big difference
Go easy on Angelina's career. She is like a fine wine and will get better with age. Let's allow her family to choose when the time is right for Republic to begin promoting her. Adele in this song sings how she was still a child and didn't get the chance to feel. I am good with Angelina growing older and wiser before taking her place as the superstar we already know her to be.
I thoroughly enjoyed your analysis of this mash up and I thought Adele sang this song beautifully. Like you said she had hours days or weeks to prepare and Angelina just a few hours. I thought your illustration was really good and I would love to hear Adele sing one of Angelina‘s original songs and I also feel that Adele should be privileged that Angelina does renditions of her songs. Thank you Alen I really enjoyed this
That was good, God Bless!
The music brings the world together. 🙂
No need to critizise Angelina for being quick to give her version.
And I am sure Adele don't mind neither.. 🤔😊
That piano says more than any human voice is capable of.
Great job Alan! Will share this...
This is as good as it gets. Amazing.
Thank you Alan for this & the cheeky interview with Adele. It was a fun reaction today =)
I would love to know what Adele really thinks of Angie & her covers of her songs.
Thank you so much for a great fantastic Job . Thumbs up Sir!
3 new young female singers covering Adele's "Easy On Me" Tayla Lauren Muir, Hanna Goodall, and a singer just goes by SINDI. Never heard of any of them.
Me neither. 😥
Impressive work Alan to get this material and and research so soon after Adele’s. Release of this song, I’m a huge fan of both Adele and Angelina
I like all types of music but most vocalist don’t draw me in and entice me to stay to the end of the performance. After catching one of the multitude of performances on the internet by Angelina I was hooked to the nth degree and I had to feed my addiction. I had to listened to each and every performance over and over again even though some were songs I did not care for in the past. When Angelina Jordan, the once in a lifetime prodigy, performs her ART she takes the mundane and makes it ethereal. I don’t know how she does it but please, AJ, carry on.
Well done Alan. Adele as part of your episode. Because of the internet all of these artists were also able to participate. It truly is a great song.
Angelina uploaded her version at 2am Pacific time, 10 hours after Adele's 4pm release.
Adele had over 18 million views by then (over 40 million views after 24 hours and set a record for most Spotify streams in the 1st 24 hours with 24+ million.)
Amazing passionate performance by Angelina in such a short time.
💞🎶👌🙌🙌
Adele put out a song 10, or 15 years ago that had slightly over a million views, so she has a way to go.
All good versions. Francesco Parrino's piano playing was mindblowing.
Great work Alan! A perfect composition and so quickly created. You are getting very skilled at the interviews too ;). I like your humour!
Angelina no production just pure singing
These were all remarkably well done covers. Of course our barefoot princes sprinkled her angel dust on this cover and once again gave us a soulful performance.
I would love Adele to do a duet with Angelina I’ve been saying it for years I just hope it happens one day and at the end there Adele was taking off one of our favourite comedians Alan Carr he’s absolutely hilarious they’ve been best friends for ever her concert was on tv 📺 last night at the London Palladium it was brilliant and Alan finished going up on stage as Adele asked him too fill in for her while she had her makeup fixed it was hilarious 😂 but as always Angelina all the way Love 💕 from Denise in Yorkshire England 🏴👼👸🏻👍🥰👋
Alan great job with this one, I do think it's a little inconsiderate for anyone to have covered it hours after its release. I have watched this 3 or 4 times so far and have watched Adele's on her TH-cam channel 10 or 12 times, its been out 5 days, when I last watched it, with 80 m views. Adele you can understand every word she is singing. Angelina is playing around with the cell phone and did ok with it I didn't like it. it is on Tiktok. Now the cover Angelina did in the studio All I Ask (Adele) she blew Adele's version out of the water it is amazing (in my opinion). Lets hope we see a studio version of this song sometime soon. Will have to agree with Damian need to get her out of L.A. Stay Safe All!
You did it again! And this time you sowed a seed
I apreasiate you :)))
Dear Alan, You jumped on the freight train by reacting to Angelina's tik tok version so soon. So you miss the piece de resistance when Angelina sings in the studio with Bob Christie at the piano, a much better presentation of Angelina's talent at age 15. She has sung great emotional songs like Million Miles and All I Ask, but in this studio version of Easy on Me Angelina is more animated than in those two performances; her body, head and hand movements are integrated into her singing. I am not qualified to analyze her gestures and movements but together with her voice I have not seen her so "let it all hang out", so graceful but intense. She is getting ready to take the world stage.
The piano version is just beautiful...
👩🏻🎤🎵🌎⭐🇳🇴❤ Okay Alan, you've interviewed Ivan, Egil, and even Adele. Now it's time to interview the one and only...
Okay, this is just my personal opinion, but I believe what makes the song so special are the lyrics. They are really powerful! That said, even in Adele's version that I saw which did not have the lyrics on screen, it was very hard to understand. Angelina may as well have been singing in ancient Greek because I understood almost none of the lyrics. That was terribly disappointing.
Thanks for the reaction, Alan. Having your "guest commentator" was cute.
I have just added the subtitles to Angelina's performance. It does make a big difference
@@thealanpapier Thanks! It helps, but the fact that I need subtitles to figure out what she's singing means I'm still disappointed. Perhaps a little less so. :-)
The guy from Ireland was gear and so was the pianist.
Great stuff Alan! The song is beautiful and all of the covers were excellent. A couple of comments about Angelina's version. As always, she just reaches down deeper than anyone else to pull out the emotional core of a song. I only wish she had done a more professional production, the acoustics where she sang it were terrible and the microphone was not up to much either. The fake interview was a hoot, reminded me of a Steven Colbert bit.
Just think what AJ might be by the time she's is 33 , I believe she will be something special
marvin We don't have to wait until she's 33; she's special right now....and has been for quite some time.
Still, we would love you to interview Adele. Be sure to ask her what she thinks of Angelina when you do.
❤️❤️❤️❤️🤗🤗🤗🥰🥰👍👍👍
Do this again only without the Angelina Tic Toc version, the comparison should be the same with proper acoustics and piano that Angelina has made, enjoyed the many versions.
NEW SONG NOW
After watching the studio version of Angelina I got the sensation that Adeles lyrics struck a nerve with here... watching this tictoc version kinda solidifies it.
I've noticed you haven't covered the hymn How Great Thou Art
But keep up the great work
th-cam.com/video/OU3UKkgnvhk/w-d-xo.html
Great job Alan. In my personal opinion, Angelina should move past all these covers and start producing her own music. Adele may be the best songwriters in the world and I think Angelina needs to focus more in that area. We know she has the talent to be the best in all aspects of her music
I don’t remember if this was discussed before. I was wondering who would be her base audience? I’m trying to imagine a concert or venue somewhere, she would need a bunch of her own songs. I don’t think she could go very far singing other people songs. I do believe she has two or three of her own songs one of them being seventh heaven which is fantastic. I could see that easily being a top 10 song on the radio, but it’s not. If you look at past and present young women rising to the top they had a specific base. Taylor Swift was more country before pop, of course Britney Spears with teen pop, Billie Eilish not sure what the heck that is. I’m just pondering her handlers strategic marketing possibilities.
Patience, my friend. We need to wait till she's officially marketed to the world. In the meanwhile we can enjoy her the way we have been. My guess is she has some originals stashed away somewhere waiting for that day. And, let's face it, she can only go so far singing covers. Although we love what she does to them and makes them her own, her originals are what is going to explode her numbers to new heights!
Of the 6 covers:
1, Insipid 2, Shouty 3, Schmaltzy
4, Jingly 5,Churchy 6, Reverent.
AJ's had, for me, foreboding - It eschewed Jazziness for a Country vibe. Now, I don't mean that pejoratively because I love a singer like Dolly Parton, but it is not AJ's realm.
BTW - The spliced interview at the end was a bit beneath you, Sir. IMHO.
I prefer the soulful version that the girl from the Philippines performed.
Not the most interesting song or melody, but at least Angelina is adding some dynamic to it, and with a better sound quality it could be really good. Angelina liked it, she sang it and are having fun, and we can only sit back and wait for her own songs.. 🤗
Di you know shes 185 centimeters =
6.06955381 feet (6 feet 53⁄64 inch)
You really need to hear AJ's cover of Baby FuZz 'I'm Still Holding Out For You', which was banned by AJ's parents because of its theme
th-cam.com/video/Dv8mjCh5iiE/w-d-xo.html
I don't like the song (90% of the song is one note: f, pretty boring), but I like Angelina 😃
ALL of Adele comments were taken out of context, she said nothing about angelina! don't get me wrong I'm an aj fan big time, I like her version better, but let's be real here!
Ya think??? That's the joke. 🙈
Weird. He keeps acting like he's having an interview with Adele.
dust
Maybe it's just me (and that's okay), but personally, I think it's rather tacky for anyone to be doing a cover on Adele's brand new song or anyone's for that matter that hasn't even hit the market yet. I LOVE Angelina Jordan's voice, but I just think people could wait before they start taking the focus away from Adele.
AJ’s version NOT in a studio, tiny iphone mic, no mixing board…..and a teenager vs a mature professional with more years of practice and experience, so not a quite fair comparison. All considered, these two will both go into the history books as outstanding, unusual talents.
That said, I wish AJ would stop releasing iphone/parking garage music. Only release studio quality recordings. I believe the tiny mic syndrome is devaluing her product. If you must use the damned tictoc, make it about your life, not about your music.
But Angelina Jordan is only 15 so it’s hard to compare her with older people which when she gets older will be way better than anybody you are posting on this video
Alan, the fake Adele interview was going too far and in my view was disrespectful. You're doing fantastic videos, but this time you stepped over the line.
That did occur to me but the reason I thought she would go along with it is based of the following video
th-cam.com/video/PQM3XUhiXbQ/w-d-xo.html
She certainly knows how to laugh at herself
Fair enough, she may be approving of it, but most artists would not.
Her words were not taken out of context and used in a derogatory manner. There was nothing disrespectful here, lighten up.
If you choose what you wanted to do, you obviously had the time. Song annoys me.
How embarrassing she actually sings all the songs better than the original artists. Look out universe because all these artists are gonna know who Angelina Jordan is very soon. Some less famous artists one day will hope and pray that AJ will sing their songs.
Hey Allen I didn’t know you were a local boy Queens New York, Whitestone lanes, small world 👍
Yep, grew up near Queens College, went to Jamaica High, then to Stony Brook Uni. Emigrated in 1974
@@thealanpapier funny I was in Stonybrook Thursday. Whitestone lanes wow. That brings back memories. What a small world we live in. My father was a builder back in the 70s early 80s. He built a few blocks away from the bowling alley off of parsons Boulevard. He also built on Horace Harding near 72nd I believe & another on 163rd st off Sanford Avenue and Northern Boulevard.
did you work in this area of queens?
@@Paultricounty Had 4 odd jobs before 18 yrs old, then in my uncle's slipper factory in mid-town Manhattan. Then drove a yellow taxi.
If you will allow me to quote Shakespeare, "A man in his life plays many parts"
@@thealanpapier lol, I can certainly relate. How do you come to do these musical artist presentations? You obviously know your music.
@@Paultricounty It all started very low key 14 months ago.
First, I discovered Angelina. Then, with the encouragement of my 21 yr old daughter, I had the opportunity to have her help me make a YT video to show her that I was 'contemporary'. And it just went on from there.
Some say I make educational videos; I think of it more as story telling. I hear an AJ song, I have an idea, then I weave a story around it.
It may appear that I am knowledgeable about music but that's just an illusion. (Mr Google, YT and Wiki help me in that regard.)
There are certain steps in these videos.
First hearing the AJ song, then I need the concept/thread/story/imagination.
Then comes the 'gathering'- which videos shall I use in which order.
Then comes the research- who did what when and why,
Then I record in the garden. Then the editing.
15 minute video start to finish may take 15 hrs. But, hey, I'm retired. It sure beats fly fishing
You keep putting the stick in the anthill. Pseudo review, lack of inspiration?
