All this talk about the Whomping Willow got me thinking about something I've never considered before: how did Dumbledore expect first-year baby Lupin to get to the knot before transforming? I mean, he's right up there with Hermione for resourcefulness in spellcasting, but for him to have to sneak out every month with no one noticing would be hard enough, how was he supposed to surreptitiously hit the correct knot on the trunk? Did he have Wingardium Leviosa down so well by the time he got there that he could float a stick to it? Just run and hope for the best? The fandom wiki says Madam Pomfrey escorted him to the shack, but if that's the case, why have the tunnel and WW at all? Or was she the one to poke the knot? Having him escorted either directly to the shack or via the tunnel seems like something that someone should have noticed. Also, does every Whomping Willow have a freezy knot?
5:47 The Gargoyles plot involving the spell isn’t ridiculous. A castle raising above the clouds was (seemingly) an impossibility. Therefore it was (seemingly) impossible for the spell to ever be broken. That was the intent of the spell (to never be broken). It was only through modern-day (1990s) intervention and magic-loopholes that the impossible-to-break spell was broken.
And when Goliath willingly allows the spell to be cast upon him, he is doing so with the intention of never waking up again. He is fully aware of the conditions for the spell and 100% expects to remain as stone forever (forever or until he is shattered in his stone sleep).
There actually is a lot of bathroom trivia in the books! Moaning Myrtle’s bathroom, the entrance to the chamber of secrets, the bathroom where Harry uses sectumsepra, and the entrance to the ministry of magic… I’m sure we could get 15 questions out of it! (I started to mention a bathroom in Grimmauld Place and then remembered I made that one up for fanfiction 😅)

Gargoyles is a great series! I loved it as a child, rewatched it on disney plus as an adult and still loved it. It just suffered from being invented when there was only regular tv and loosing funding at the end. That's a show that should be remade and expanded on.

What I REALLY want is a continuation of animated series with the original creator and original voice cast, but I’ll certainly take a live-action series as well. Whatever gets the franchise going again, I’m all for it.

My bonus brother and bonus nephew are both still Juniors, as he decided to keep his as it was given, due to needing to update a lot of things. Myself, dad and I have different middle names, so one would think that would be a non issue. We both use our middle names, because people assume. Figure it would be what they'd do. Now, on the I, II, III version of it, the number doesn't change, and the 1st is also never mentioned. My inlaws use that option, as some families see Junior as an insult. My father is a junior. And he not only does not have junior is his legal name, he actively does not go by junior. This is definitely not a requirement, at least not in the United States. Edit: my grandfather is also very much alive. And also, does not choose to go by senior. I can't speak to it being a legal part of his name, but for sure my father is not legally known as a junior outside of our immediate family.
The winged boars by the gates are not gargoyles. Gargoyles are decorative water spouts on a roof (think of the thing that Judge Frollo grabs at the end of Hunchback of Notre Dame), as compared to grotesques, which are statues on a roof that don't spout water (Quasimodo's stone buddies). The boars are just statues.

That is a good point at the end about the Giant Squid. If somebody went to feed or play with the Giant Squid and got hurt, they could be told to stay away from it like the Womping Willow.

For the Sr/Jr question, Sr is not a legal requirement, but Jr is, as long as the Sr is alive, once they pass away, the Jr can choose to drop it, but most don't to avoid confusion.
Is it legal though? Henry the 8th who became one of the most famous monarchs in British history wasn’t a jr.

@@Charbified looking online I cannot find any legal requirements (atleast in uk) to add junior/jr to your child’s name if you give them the same name as you. I also cannot found any legal requirement to add senior to your name.
@@Charbified he was Henry 8th after he became monarch. He was the 8th monarch in British history to be called Henry (like our current monarch is Charles 3rd but before him was hi mum Elizabeth 2nd) but he was NOT the 8th in a row if that is what you are thinking.
My father is a junior. And he not only does not have junior is his legal name, he actively does not go by junior. This is definitely not a requirement, at least not in the United States.
Edit: my grandfather is also very much alive. And also, does not choose to go by senior. I can't speak to it being a legal part of his name, but for sure my father is not legally known as a junior outside of our immediate family.

The winged boars by the gates are not gargoyles. Gargoyles are decorative water spouts on a roof (think of the thing that Judge Frollo grabs at the end of Hunchback of Notre Dame), as compared to grotesques, which are statues on a roof that don't spout water (Quasimodo's stone buddies). The boars are just statues.

That is a good point at the end about the Giant Squid. If somebody went to feed or play with the Giant Squid and got hurt, they could be told to stay away from it like the Womping Willow.
