Singapore, officially the Republic of Singapore, is a sovereign island country and city-state in maritime Southeast Asia. A highly developed country, it is tied at 12th on the UN Human Development Index and has the second-highest GDP per capita (PPP) in the world. Identified as a tax haven, Singapore is the only country in Asia with a AAA sovereign credit rating from all major rating agencies. It is a major aviation, financial, and maritime shipping hub, and has consistently been ranked as one of the most expensive cities to live in for expatriates and foreign workers. Singapore is placed highly in key social indicators: education, healthcare, quality of life, personal safety, infrastructure, and housing, with a home-ownership rate of 88 percent. Singaporeans enjoy one of the longest life expectancies, fastest Internet connection speeds, lowest infant mortality rates, and lowest levels of corruption in the world.
Singapore is a unitary parliamentary republic with a Westminster system of unicameral parliamentary government, and its legal system is based on common law. Although the country is a multi-party democracy with free elections, the government under the People's Action Party (PAP) wields significant control and dominance over politics and society. The PAP has governed the country continuously since full internal self-government was achieved in 1959, with 83 out of 104 seats in Parliament as of the 2020 general election. One of the five founding members of ASEAN, Singapore is also the headquarters of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Secretariat, the Pacific Economic Cooperation Council (PECC) Secretariat, and is the host city of many international conferences and events. Singapore is also a member of the United Nations (UN), World Trade Organization (WTO), East Asia Summit (EAS), Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), and the Commonwealth of Nations.

I envy the people staying there. This is so beautiful. Zero rubbish, everything is nicely planned and arranged, plants everywhere, no potholes on the road, quiet and peaceful.

Have to disagree with you. Potholes are getting way more common nowadays and rubbish/ trash really do exists in alot of the neighborhoods in Singapore. The drivers here are not all that nice, with road hoggings on express lanes, non signalling and douches driving expensive cars.
One thing about Singapore is that it is extremely safe. And people here generally do not expose themselves to petty crimes.
I have been to Singapore since my relatives live there, believe me many other places in SG have potholes and all sort of rubbish. But it's only seen in the country side, this part of Singapore is tech hub and centre of Singapore, so it is neat and tidy.

What a beautiful city. Beautiful landscapes, building, good roads, calm drivers, etc. Only problem I would have is dealing with the humidity. I would be sweating non-stop. I kept watching for an American car, and finally saw a Chrysler Town and Country minivan at 30:40 Seems to be a lot of wealthy people living in Singapore just judging by the abundance of expensive cars. Yes, a lot of wealthy people. But the main reason of the abundance of expensive cars is because of ultra high taxes on cars so only the wealthy people can buy car. When u can afford all the taxes on car, might as well buy the most expensive/luxury/sport car haha
I'm from Singapore. Sadly, Dodge, Chevy, and Chrysler have already ceased operations here, so whatever you may see of those brands are old models. Jeep is still around but they sell Wranglers as a novelty car with a S$100k markup, and Ford only has the Mustang and some small pickup trucks on sale here.
Car prices here are insane though. Those people with the expensive cars are exponentially wealthy. I personally own a little 1.2l turbo Opel in Singapore and it cost me S$101k (price has since gone up to about S$130k due to a fluctuating tax called the Certificate of Entitlement).
I went to Florida last December and drove a Dodge Charger V6, it was like a taste of car freedom (especially on learning the price of the car there) and I really wished I lived in the USA. Maybe the grass is indeed greener on the other side.
@@roadpillocks3710 Thank you for your reply. I didn't realize how expensive automobiles are in Singapore. It's absolutely crazy! Remember, the grass isn't always greener on the other side. There are positives and negatives regarding living in any country.
@@roadpillocks3710 Wouldn't you consider that a good thing? People using public transport and less emissions all together? Singapore has lack of greenery and the last thing the people need is more greenhouse effect. I think it was a really smart move by the government.

COE is expensive but you can still see more than half are luxury brand cars. Singaporeans really are rich, powerful purchasing power. Also the country is smaller than Malaysia, but roads are flat and wider than Kuala Lumpur

@@j134679 Singapore is Singapore. No US city can be the same level as Singapore. Manhattan is nowhere near Singapore since it's a lot cleaner and way more organized in Singapore than in Manhattan, and most American cities. Less crime rates, more cosmopolitan, and generally peaceful people. Manhattan's rail transport is far behind Singapore's MRT. Also, Singapore is way more eco-friendly than many American cities.
