- This video is in reference to the things I wish I knew about weapon lights on pistols and rifles before making my first ever purchase. All lights aren't created the same but some will get your boots smoked, if you're not careful. listen as I give you examples of great quality lights while also informing you of the bad ones.

With the pistol lights, something that I consider is the compatibility with available holsters as a factor, I also like them to have a 1K+ lummens.

That was something I thought about hitting on but I feel when it comes to those holsters, you'll be going down a rabbit hole given the vast amount of them that we have to pick from these days over 10 or 15 years ago.
Not to mention worst case scenario you can have a kydex molded of your gun these days for cheap
@@malignantredneck6194 very cheap! I will say that, you don’t have to spend a lot of holster just as long as it’s kydex built and for your pistol or pistol/light set up
I’ve done cheap, I’ve done Gucci, and I’m talking about 20yrs back even when we didn’t have a lot of options
I had a freakin mini mag light with led upgrade before I got an OG surefire that had incandescent bulbs!!! I think the lumen for both were under 500 or at 500. I can’t recall any pistol light options
Today I find streamlight the Goldilocks of duty durability and performance. HL-X pro now with 50k candela. Even the 27k was great. Both can be had for around $100
Olight… good for beginners that aren’t sure they’ll even sustain a light for edc. Cheap edc sized options that last for edc use. Got an s2r baton 2 that’s been running since released. I’ve not had luck with their weapon lights. Pl mini died inside of a year. Odin flickered to death.
I prefer modlite for price to performance over surefire but back in the day surefire was the standard. Duty proven…. Survived 05-06 Iraq. Survived 06-08 counter drug. Survived another 08-09 tour in Iraq. Has more sentiment than practical use

Great video! On my carry or defense weapon i dont skimp on lights or optics. I do have a couple of range toys or budget bangers that ive put some cheaper stuff on. That being said, some of the cheap lights are on par with the expensive stuff. Weeding out the airsoft stuff is the problem. So many options out there. Thank you for your service!
It was a pleaser to serve this GREAT NATION! You’re right, the options are endless and the airsoft stuff is very much a factor out here too. Especially if you’re buying off eBay and Amazon over places like primaryarms or palmetto for your gear.
I have a collection of lights from over the years. I’ve done the budget and I’ve done the expensive. For rifle light though, the budget one that impressed me the most is the o light Odin 2k lumens. Some of the reviews on Amazon claim “The light might actually be too bright” and they aren’t playing lol. I have surfire And mod lights as comparison. I’m not paid to say that and don’t have a TH-cam channel but just want to pass on some of my findings through the years

Facts! You ain’t never lied lol this game ain’t cheap but like I always tell people “you gotta pay to play” 🤷🏽♂️ but I have high end stuff and base level. I don’t listen to the masses, I get what I want and what is well made.

@@timjackson4013 you already in the game. Get you a solid like on them and you’re set. As far as handguns go. Streamlight TLR1- HL is a great move for both. The 48 is the slimer frame I think so I’d got with the tlr7 maybe.
