Exploring the Lost Video Games Iceberg (EXPLAINED)

Welcome back to another iceberg video. Today we are taking a look at a 'lost' media themed iceberg, more specifically lost video games. This can mean anything from a game that was never released due to things like copyright issues, all the way to online MMO games that were pulled off the internet making it impossible to play. Some of these games have been found, but a majority of them are still lost to time and it is unknown if we will ever see these games in their fullest versions ever again.

Here’s a lost media game people should look for. There was the deadliest catch flash game. In this game you’d manage a crab catching company. I remember it being really hard for kids because whenever I played it it’s spend my money buying supplies, take the boat out to single spot, fish there the entire season and then go bankrupt because of caught no crabs.

16:33 Cartoon Network had a few of these too, most notably for Batman Brave and the Bold and Ben 10, though there could have been more. (Also, I would like to note Fusionfall Fighters, this game is a weird one that I only got to run ONCE, I need to find it again to see if my better hardware can use it)

7:17 I still remember that interactive phineas and ferb site flash game that was fun. Like it was a crossover of so many episodes. I wish I could have archived em in some format, but I don't even own the laptop that was used to play those games anymore...

It really can't be understated how much work Nick does for lost games. He's not just making documentaries, he's actively working with the folks he's highlighting to get the games in a playable state.
Absolutely the biggest show for his passion regarding niche gaming history/preservation, is the blastoise video.

I'm surprised that Where Am I isn't in this video, it's a web game made by the creator of the Slender: The Eight Pages and Slender: The Arrival. The game is impossible to play now

More games than ever are becoming prone to being lost because of the reliance on server-side connection, always online stuff that is gone forever due to EoS. If not because it's an MMO, but devs can't be bothered to add any offline support and encrypt the crap out of their resources so fan mods are impossible ugh

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but the halo on ds was supposedly a proof of concept to get it pitched. I doubt it’ll ever see the light of day considering it was a modded 007 game using the halo franchise

I found a nick arcade games cd with the box and insert included. It has a ton of demos to play. I know it's not rare but it was a cool nostalgia blast for one dollar.
