As salty as Jon is here, this board is so much less luck-based than its MP1 counterpart and I actually love it here. The items are a game changer because they give you so much power over landing on the event spaces or travel distance. Jon got upset about bad luck with the star, but it was totally fair game. He used the custom block to put himself right behind the star when he could've observed that Josh was close to Boo and tried to hold off for a bit. Tim also would've been pressured to use the event space as well, after all. This board has so many mind games it's fantastic. Very little feels unfair.

I love how there's so many throwbacks to Mario Party 1 in this board, yet as far as I've seen Jon has kept his rage surprisingly well in check, unlike Mario Party 1 where his anger ends up VERY audible and vocal. Curious to see if that makes a comeback by the end of this board or not just because that would legit be hilarious if it did.
Jon was very angry during this board because early on in the channel, all three guys were playing caricatures of themselves. They've become way more comfortable as a group now and can now be themselves so the calmer Jon you're seeing now is more accurate to how Jon actually is. I think you are unlike to see Jon act that way because I believe Jon didn't like the character he put on while Emile did.

I wonder how Hidden Blocks work in this game. I know in Mario Party 2 and 3 there are two (three in MP3) hidden blocks spawned on the board at all times, one containing coins and one containing a Star (and one containing an item in 3), but in this one, you seem to get coins way more often. Oh yeah, I wanna plug Zoom Zike's channel for a moment. Zoom Zike made a series about Mario Party games where he talks in-depth about how the games really work. In Mario Party 1, he points out that dice blocks, mushroom blocks, and the blocks for taking a shortcut in Bowser's Magma Mountain aren't actually random or based on timing - they're all predetermined. So when Emile freaked out about getting Bowser despite the block showing a Star, it didn't matter when he hit the block, the game had already rolled Bowser.
One thing I _can_ tell you about Hidden Blocks in Superstars is that it has been proven that CPUs on the hardest difficulty can actually see them, and will not hesitate to straight-up cheat if they can use a Custom Dice Block to roll directly onto them 👀

I don't know how others feel about this, but I actually really like Toadette being the star awarder in this game. I've never thought of "Toad" as a single character, as the red-capped toads are so common. Toadette on the other hand is a unique character, and it provides a clever nod to Toad awarding stars in the first game at the same time.
