heres a summary king kong was the first giant monster movie and it was American godzilla came after but was the first japanese monster film but Toho acquireed the rights to make their own king kong movies way after.
King Kong Vs Godzilla Directed by John Capenter Written by Tim Burton With Visual Effects by Peter Jackosn thats the only godzilla American remake i would watch more than once
THEY MADE A SEQUEL CALLED SUPER GODZILLA VS. KING GHIDORAH, MECHA KING GHIDORAH, MECHAGODZILLA, BATTRA, BIOLLANTE, AND BAGAN THE BIGGEST GREATEST MOVIE FLIM OF ALL TIMES.
I totall agree with you. Most G fans hate the 1998 Tri Star movie. Well, when the actors from that movie say that they're "fans" it does sort of sound like just a bunch of mainstream hot air. LOL! Well, you can always tell a true fan of any particular genre or art. If they quote specifics, they're a fan. If they just say they're a fan and leave it at that...well, they're just trying to ingratiate themselves with a demographic.
I first saw this when I was 8 years old and just getting out for the summer after 3rd grade, and it got me interested in the Big G as well as other Kaiju.
Some of the "hardcore" fans may still hate the movie. The reason why we all hated it at first was because it had little to NO actual relation to do with the godzilla lore. The monster though cool looking barely resembled it source material. It wasn't indestructible. It couldn't actually breath fire* though I will admit that IS debatable.* We weren't at least I wasn't expecting it to be as good as the original.Just a standard godzilla flick. And it failed to deliver on that.
@GORIZARD7 yes but technically it was a monster movie it didnt hv anything to do with the american 1 making it a japanese version and it came before godzilla
actually the origins of godzilla´s name is that they named him like a fat toho press man or something like that and his real colour is choarcal grey xD
Oddly enough I remember hearing it was Godzilla that inspired Cloverfield, JJ Abrams is recorded as saying seeing Godzilla everywhere made him feel that America needed it's own verson of Godzilla.
ya so maybe watch it again with unbiased eyes and maybe you will see its a great film if you dont nitpick everything or complain about things that dont matter
@snakes3425 Unfortunately Abrams is not inspired enough, the more time he wastes delaying a Cloverfield pre/sequel... the less likely it's ever going to be completed.
Not exactly genetic that we teach our children to love Godzilla? But hopefully a tradition to be passed down to future generation? Godzilla is perfect & made for fun!
You know what I've noticed? Almost every giant monster movie after Godzilla has had at least one bridge being destroyed. Rodan did it. I think Mothra did it. In the trailer for Pacific Rim, I saw two bridges being obliterated. Does that make it a tradition?
I think the 1954 Godzilla was the best. Godzilla is looks like a gigantic ceratosaur or a spinosaur. He's lifestyle looks like a spinos lifestyle. Live in water and land. And he's design looks like a giant ceratosaur like the deltadromeus
THATSIS INSPIRES FROM CHILHOOD TO YOUNG ADULT HOODIN TIME IN A ROW AND THEY SHOULD MAKE A LITTLE HAND PUPPET DINOSAUR TO LARGE REPTUILAIN HAND DINOSAUR PUPPET
PEPLOE ATULLULY MADE DESTORY ALL MONSTERS 2 DESTORY ALL MONSTERS 3 NEXT THEY MADE GODZILLA'S REVENGE 2 GODZILLA'S REVENGE 3 THERE ARE THE BIGGEST AND MOST GREATEST MOVIES IN THE WHOLE WORLD.
Since childhood in the 60s, I have been a fan of the King of the monsters! Where do you think Godzie came from? Anyway America screwed up making that stupid swamp monster movie & dared to name it after the King. I was pissed & shut it off when I saw that fake. Thank God Godzilla kicked his ass in Final Wars! Loved it!
Is the new monster derived from Godzilla's cells? Or a new bioengineered monster, or a monster accidently brought back from outer space (like in THE X FROM OUTER SPACE-1967 Shochiku).
Oh, sorry that sentence didn't make alot of sense. Here, let me explain. I REALLY didn't like the movie, Ferris Bueller's Day Off starring an extremly bland actor, Matthew Broderick. Then, the 1998 Godzilla was also something I hated, wouldn't you know it, Matthew Broderick also starred in that movie and he says, "That's alot of fish." something incredibly stupid. When he says he was a big fan of Godzilla, at 0:24 it made me angry knowing that he ruined Godzilla's image. So there. :)
This goes with shin Godzilla movie was about has part of it but more so with back and tail shooting out lasers beams would have been that way back in 1954 movie
no dude the idea was not stoel from out movies infact i dont tink the first godzilla movie cam out until lsomewhere in the 1920s and king kong came out in 1933
I remember watching this when I was 9, already a fan of Godzilla. I have been a fan of him since I was 5.
This is what got me into kaiju when I was 8.
I am SO glad that these are still on TH-cam. I was sure that someone would've had them taken down by now.
heres a summary king kong was the first giant monster movie and it was American godzilla came after but was the first japanese monster film but Toho acquireed the rights to make their own king kong movies way after.
@mrwhippy101 I know. Before "Gojira", there were two king kong movies, but they are all lost because of WW2.
This documentary turned me into a Godzilla fan when i first saw it
Eeyup.
Awesome. The birth of Godzuki. Time for Part 2.
I can't see why people love that movie so much, there's nothing special about it. But if you like it, I respect your views.

KING GHIDORAH, MECHAGODZILLA, BATTRA, BIOLLANTE, AND BAGAN THE BIGGEST
GREATEST MOVIE FLIM OF ALL TIMES.
He was also in Wargames and Project X
This is the very first video I add to my favorites list.
Well in two movies he is a dark shade of green. AKA Godzilla 2000 and Godzilla Vs Megaguirus
Whoa, Whoa, Whoa! 0:23 Broderick said WHAT!!
Did he ever even see the monster he was working with!!!
I love U GODZILLA IM AM ONE OF UR FANS BTW :D
Actually.he's brownish gray and coming back to the big screen for his 60th anniversary in 2014.
I remember this documentary. I recorded it but lost the tape a long time ago.
I totall agree with you.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off is one of the best films ever made.
The monster got its name from a big man who worked at the studio named Gojira. So they named the monster "Gojira/Godzilla".
if only godzilla could do that to the directors of the 98 incident
You are right.
I Want Prehistoric Superstars And It Came From Japan On DVD📀
I first saw this when I was 8 years old and just getting out for the summer after 3rd grade, and it got me interested in the Big G as well as other Kaiju.
I think Godzilla 2000 and 2004 are the best.
Some of the "hardcore" fans may still hate the movie. The reason why we all hated it at first was because it had little to NO actual relation to do with the godzilla lore. The monster though cool looking barely resembled it source material. It wasn't indestructible. Stuff like this makes me think no really understands godzilla. They just think he's a big lizard that breathes fire. but he is more than that
Don't forget that some Showa movies that he was black. He really doesn't have a official color, his color changes at some points.
You sir, are a genius.
lol little boy scared outta his mind at 4:20
@GORIZARD7 The lost king kong films that were made in japan before godzilla
Wow...this aired on my birthday! Damn...what the hell was I doing?! I should've been watching this!
HE AIN'T GREEN DAMN IT!!!!! HE HAS NEVER BEEN GREEN!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL (well he was in G2K and Godzilla vs Megaguirus)
why thank you
I think they should mention George Takei's connection, only diehard fans likly know he was a voice actor in a few of the films
Actually he is CHARCOAL GRAY. That was the official listed color.
@Xeivous
Yes, oddly enough George Takei's first major role was as one of the dub-actors for Godzilla Raids Again
@GORIZARD7 yes but technically it was a monster movie it didnt hv anything to do with the american 1 making it a japanese version and it came before godzilla
Isn't the guy at 0:34 in red alert 3? Just noticed lol.
noraku80 yea
actually the origins of godzilla´s name is that they named him like a fat toho press man or something like that and his real colour is choarcal grey xD
I tell you what... this is intesting to know the history and the horror that gave Godzilla's birth. I must say one word, "wow."
um, actually godzilla was inspired to show what would happen if we continued nuclear warfare and is based on a japanese legend.
This Was The First Time i Saw Godzilla!
yep.
I recorded this on VHS back when it originally aired.
yes but in the other 27 movies he was CHARCOAL GRAY.
I have to agree. I hated the 98 Godzilla by the sheer fact it was set in NYC. Zilla belongs to/and in Japan. It's not the same.
They should have played Blue Oster Cult's song on Godzilla
GO GO GODZILLA. ♡ T.E.N.
Oddly enough I remember hearing it was Godzilla that inspired Cloverfield, JJ Abrams is recorded as saying seeing Godzilla everywhere made him feel that America needed it's own verson of Godzilla.
Brodtard: I've always been a fan of godzilla. Me: well, you hide it well >:(
What happened to the show "Animal Icons"? Is it still around?
ya so maybe watch it again with unbiased eyes and maybe you will see its a great film if you dont nitpick everything or complain about things that dont matter
@snakes3425 Unfortunately Abrams is not inspired enough, the more time he wastes delaying a Cloverfield pre/sequel... the less likely it's ever going to be completed.
awesome, thanks a lot!!
He didn't ruin Godzilla's image, Tristar did. He is an actor not the writer of the film.
I know. Why does everybody say he's green. He looks stupid green, black or dark grey makes him look badass.
Love Godzilla
Not exactly genetic that we teach our children to love Godzilla?
But hopefully a tradition to be passed down to future generation?
Godzilla is perfect & made for fun!
They should redo this documentary but exclude the 98 godzilla and put the 2014 version
The star wars's creatures are not loading up?
You know what I've noticed?
Almost every giant monster movie after Godzilla has had at least one bridge being destroyed. Rodan did it. I think Mothra did it. In the trailer for Pacific Rim, I saw two bridges being obliterated. Does that make it a tradition?
Aw i love Takei
@GORIZARD7 ok fair point
I think the 1954 Godzilla was the best.
Godzilla is looks like a gigantic ceratosaur or a spinosaur. He's lifestyle looks like a spinos lifestyle. Live in water and land. And he's design looks like a giant ceratosaur like the deltadromeus
Godzilla 2014 already has some merchandise out, even before the movie is released.
THATSIS INSPIRES FROM CHILHOOD TO YOUNG ADULT HOODIN TIME
IN A ROW AND THEY SHOULD MAKE A LITTLE HAND PUPPET DINOSAUR TO
LARGE REPTUILAIN HAND DINOSAUR PUPPET
i miss animal cions since i live on a diferent country and they stoped airing it where i livz. can you uplaod mroe eps plz
it was not based on a japanese legend. the superstition of the odo islanders was just a fictional plot device
there are no plans for a sequel to the 1998 american godzilla. a sequel was briefly in development around 1999-2000, but it's long dead.
PEPLOE ATULLULY MADE DESTORY ALL MONSTERS 2 DESTORY ALL MONSTERS 3
NEXT THEY MADE GODZILLA'S REVENGE 2 GODZILLA'S REVENGE 3 THERE ARE THE
BIGGEST AND MOST GREATEST MOVIES IN THE WHOLE WORLD.
i SAW THiS as a KiD! & iT WAS THE FiRST TiME THAT i EVER SAW GODZiLLA! YAY CHiLDHOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =D
I didn't quite understand that.
They are making an american version of Dragonball..(Responce to Casanuda's comment)
Also, I've been looking for this clip :)
haha John Carpenter has always been my favorite director i guess this explains quite a bit
not really they just show one episode about media pets, such as Brian from Family Guy
The old Godzilla was a guy in a ruber suit with a mini city to run around in and step on whatever he wanted as long as it was one que.
Loved it!

godzilla's not green,he's dark grey
@Xeivous Oh you know it!
the lucky dragon that is flat out irony nothing but flat out irony
I Want Animal Planet's Animal Icons Back
Yeah, if he was a 'really big Godzilla fan' he would have refused to be in that movie.
Wait this was really on animal planet :D
WHATS WITH THE CAPITALS?????? =)
i thought about it and we awoken godzilla
Oh, sorry that sentence didn't make alot of sense. Here, let me explain. I REALLY didn't like the movie, Ferris Bueller's Day Off starring an extremly bland actor, Matthew Broderick. 8:40 HE’S NOT GREEN!!!! HE’S CHARCOAL GREY!!!!!!
There is a new American Godzilla coming to theatres January 18, 2008.
4:46 If toho is the Warner Brothers of Japan, than Toei is the Universal
Yes there is. They had the trailer on right before the TRANSFORMERS. Google: cloverfield.
nothing is more disturbing than Japanese horror
@Twackius The money.
its ok its ur opinion lol i just hate wen people bitch about it but he did breath fire and he did have the roar
i love animal icons
ur right
Next to Bruce Lee, I idolize Godzilla.
if america ever takes another crack at godzilla, john carpenter should make it. that would be sweet^_^
