What rod do you personally recommend for getting 40-50 pound fish to use on a boat in the Miami/Keys area? Brand, size, between Medium-XXHeavy? I was thinking Shimano Trevela, Teramar, or Terez. My ideal reel would be an 18-20k Saragosa. For mostly Mahi, Tuna, big snappers. Thanks, I love your channel.
hey man, 18-20k seems overkill for those fish. I'd get a 10,000 saltiga (best spin reel ever) then you can buy a 14000 spool if you will travel somewhere else with bigger fish. the 8k, 10k and 14k saltiga have spool interchangeability (they share the same chassis so you can just buy spare spools). For the rod, with the mahi and tuna seems like you are casting, but then snappers are demersals so not sure whether you are looking for a casting rod or jigging rod
Every time you do a thumbnail you do an amazing job at making a fish look world record size. But when you see it in video definitely not as big as thumbnail lol
