Batteries need to be used for roughly 4.7 years before they become neutral when compared with a petrol equivalent in terms of their relative environmental impact so it's farcical to say this is more friendly to the planet. The new rules really seem to require supercomputer levels of energy state management, with a net loss on the total energy drivers can actually recover and then use. Whoever figures out the strategy to optimize energy output under these new rules is going to have a huge advantage (I guess that’s always true, but it’s never been this complex before). Hard to imagine Mercedes not having a particularly good year with all the R&D they’ve done with their production car lines. This will probably benefit the rest of us with more efficient performance cars that sound like real cars, but you can already see that in order to manage energy states drivers are going to have to coast at the end of long straights, and speeds will be a lot lower than they are now.

The FIA is acting like they are absolutely unsure of what the concept of an F1 car should be. If they choose to go for hydrogen combustion engines then at least the F1 isn’t fully walking in the footsteps of the Indycar Series…. I’m not convinced by the Liberty Media Group owning F1 by the way they’re managing the rules and regulations plus their choice of what circuits are selected for the near future. Also the system of 24 races isn’t going to be sustainable for the teams…. Lots of ball dropping and not so much for picking up the ball they’ve just dropped….
Hamilton has driven in "couple" of different eras? V8, V6 hybrid, 2022 rule changes if you will. Alonso has already been driving when there were V10 engines... A step in the right direction would be to leave out baterries entirely, instead of using more fuel to generate more electric power and still make slower cars. It's also a joke to "cut" power from the leader so the guy in second can go faster/accelerate quicker. - You can literally just wait behind P1 until the very last lap/straight and just pass him with the advantage of more power, while he is slowed down.
F1 is a business not a sport so it needs to make money for the owners which means weird rules and regulations to entertain cash rich casuals so that they spend their cash. Enticing motor manufacturers into F1 also draws in more casuals. F1 is not racing anymore!

Putting it on a 1 hour repeat! Nostalgia
i hate they let ford in. Go back to early 2000's size cars, remove all traction control etc, let drivers drive the cars instead of computers.
Feel like pure shit, just want the screaming v10 back…..
the size of the cars is good its juts the stupid performance restrictions they keep doing
Bring back 2003 cars and kick out horner and wollf and we can drive again
Weight is the problem all cars should be mandated that they all weigh the same including driver
So they’re getting rid of DRS on the rear ring and putting in the front… ok
The FIA is acting like they are absolutely unsure of what the concept of an F1 car should be.
If they choose to go for hydrogen combustion engines then at least the F1 isn’t fully walking in the footsteps of the Indycar Series….
I’m not convinced by the Liberty Media Group owning F1 by the way they’re managing the rules and regulations plus their choice of what circuits are selected for the near future.
Also the system of 24 races isn’t going to be sustainable for the teams….
Lots of ball dropping and not so much for picking up the ball they’ve just dropped….
Mixed feelings…. like excrement mixed with garbage. These cars will be awful.
So if I get this right we are slowing the cars down? Nice….😂
Soon we’ll have Tesla and Toyota Prius teams in F1 )
Hamilton has driven in "couple" of different eras?
V8, V6 hybrid, 2022 rule changes if you will.
Alonso has already been driving when there were V10 engines...
A step in the right direction would be to leave out baterries entirely, instead of using more fuel to generate more electric power and still make slower cars.
It's also a joke to "cut" power from the leader so the guy in second can go faster/accelerate quicker. - You can literally just wait behind P1 until the very last lap/straight and just pass him with the advantage of more power, while he is slowed down.
This is not the way FIA has to approach things.Bring back the refulling and let go of the electric motors and things!
F1 is a business not a sport so it needs to make money for the owners which means weird rules and regulations to entertain cash rich casuals so that they spend their cash. Enticing motor manufacturers into F1 also draws in more casuals.
F1 is not racing anymore!
I love how Hamilton advocates for more electric. He must have zero clue where they get the materials for those batteries from…
Oh ffs, just make oversized scalextric cars and be done with it and the drivers can stand in the garage using the hand pieces for safety
Looking at the new Reg's appears like the woke and the traffic Dept. have had a hand in it.
Glad I like Superbike racing just as much as F1, as the bikes are always entertaining and relevant.
How is slowing down good?
More racing, more skill. Also its not gonna be much slower. Thats overbloated
Take out pit / driver discussions during race. Shut up pitlane and shut up drivers. Just drive, no commercials by pretending that its important for us to hear them talking nonsens all the time.
Getting rid of DRS, I diffly don't like that
that last bit tells me one thing... expect a season dominated by ferrari... aaaannd the wdc for 2026 is? Sir Lewis Hamilton! 👍😁
So they making the car better for Monaco lol
V12's with synthetic fuel simples
Bring back v10’s!!!
where v12 engine?
Might as well give up watching F1 and start watching Formula E instead. This sport is getting ruined. Piss off the hybrid cars, bring back the v10 or v8 and run on sustainable fuel
As long as they are much smaller and look like the 2000’s without curvy parts but instead more sharp edges on parts of the cars ((not looking like it’s from space)) I’m happy but I still think it’s massive I mean look at the drivers compared to the car now from the front ((driver seated in car)) they look like ants from a few metres away
No good at all, cars will be slow on track and it looks like we are going back in time 2005 era with the design of the car appears it went backward
New cars are crap go back to v-10
Formula 1 was about speed and innovative now they are racing Toyota prius races have gotten boring and fans will start to leave because of it
I already have
50/50 split I can see where this is going, they will lose a lot of fans with this nonsense. Bring back v8 V10 V12 natural. Even just v8 na would be a good send for the drivers and fans, fk the electric shite
Get rid of the electrics, combustion engine only!
Drop the batteries, we just want some lighter smaller cars, that have good sounding engines. Why is it always the fans that have to be disappointed, they could have worked on more carbon neutral logistics and made way more then a one procent difference
It's been shit for over 10 years. Soon they will just merge with Formula E.
If these regulations are legit, F1 is gonna be 💩.
No DRS, narrower tires, basically battery powered, the list goes on.
What is going on here? These are racing cars, they should use an obscene amount of fuel, go fast and make a ridiculous amount of noise!
Who gives a 💩 about sustainability and eco-friendly fuel?
May as well race go-karts from 2026 onwards...
Rule makers should be fired. F1 was always about finding out. The pinnacle of evolving. None of these rule makers agve any clue. Leave my sport alone.
Nobody wantes to see a slow f1 race then it would be boring.
It’s f1 not formula E they need to remove all that hybrid and electronics crap out of the cars ruined the racing all this active aero n that is bloody nonsense it’s also ruined Moto gp for me
Should be man and machine and racetrack
No man computers batteries mguk’s revovery systems it a rubbish concept think of the money they could save it’s a no brainer
FIA ACO & WEC what's The future regulations accept the hydrogen one don't you think sportscar racing must have better performance than F1
Yes, the best driver on the grid 7:14 Max Vetstappen
Until they go back to NA, I'm out!
This is ridiculous at this rate whats the point in formula e
It’s the opposite of racing, it’s acutely boring, tyre management, fuel management, energy management, is that racing, I think not.
Go to what the people want as opposed to the ‘people’ who supposedly tell us what we want.
V10’s, fuel stops and flat out proper RACING!
Wtf is with thouse ppl. 2016 performance, what isnt bad. 2016 sice of everything what isnt bad. Louder cars what isnt bad.
And ppl cry. Just chill tf out
