I know you weren't happy with the video at some points because it's frustrating, but it's a big help to people to see the work completed. What is frustrating for you would be challenging and difficult for a lot of us! Keep up the vids.
Thanks for your videos. Even if you're getting frustrated it's good that you upload to help others. Also, is there a "better way" to do that patchwork where the wire is so small and the pitch so small? It would be cool to see a video where you try different techniques - even if the fail. Similar to how The 8-bit Guy did a video where he tests all the different retrobrite techniques.
Nice job! I don't think I could have done this without my microscope :) Lately I have noticed that using the fiberglass pen is kind of controversial because you expose much more copper than what is needed. It is easy to create bridges because of it. I started testing for continuity and use a fine blade to carefully remove the solder mask where it is needed. Anyways, don't be afraid to show videos where you make mistakes, this makes them more 'real' and people can learn from them!
Using a blade seems like it would be more risky to me; smaller area of damage, but it seems like it would be easy to break the trace more with a blade.
@@inputfunny Yeah, there's risks to both method. But if you're going to be using something to cover the traces later, then I don't really think it matters too much that extra copper was exposed. Even just tinning the traces with solder will be decent protection against corrosion, though obviously you want some nail polish or solder mask to prevent accidental bridging in case a little piece of metal enters the machine.
You did good, more patience than I have for this sorta stuff. Also lifted a pad before twisting a cap off, I wouldn't recommend it, take your time and be careful removing those things.
I like to use flux and braid to skim over the whole affected area to get a nice even coating of solder than feed the wire through the via and plug if if its possible like in this case :D
Acabo de descubrir tu canal, y es sencillamente estupendo. Muchísimas gracias por todo. I just discovered your channel, and apart from the fact that I love the content and how you have prepared everything, I have to say that it could be the channel with the best information on Super Nintendo repair, Thank you very much for taking the trouble to share it.
Muchas Gracias. 👍 I’m glad you enjoy the content, I’m actually starting to get sick of SNES repairs, I’ve probably repaired over 100 SNES/SFCs on and off camera.

Just my 2 cents, but you should have traced those broken traces back to bigger solder points on the board and to pins on the chip, it would have been much easier that way.
Look at this guy with two videos in two days! You can get the solder mask from the big homie Louis Rossmann's store at: store.rossmanngroup.com/ab13-uvh900-10ml.html Don't buy the UV pen there though because it's garbage. You can get a good one on Amazon for $7-8 shipped.

Don't worry too much about getting solder mask. Just get some green nail polish. It'll work just as well for protecting the traces.
Good video. I do get frustrated watching people work with such small things like those broken traces. Lol, but it feels so good to fix things.

Great work, glad you're back uploading again.
I found my low sound problems from my personal snes it was due to using the hyperkin hdmi wire
That’s good to know if I ever come by those cables.
Nice to see videos coming out more consistently, keep em coming.
I look at you in Russia, my friend. glad for you that you have a great hobby. This is rare now.

Great work dude! Is this the first retrobrite you do in one of your videos?
No I’ve done a few in the recent past.
Very nice videos.

Yo I got 2 10cc things of solder mask from Amazon for like 5/10 bucks. Way more than I'll use for a couple of years.
Yeah I got some recently too, just haven’t had projects or any time to use it.
If it was me I'd solder a jumper to that via and run it to the leg of that chip
