Imagine if you just pulled a CPU that you just put in. Good thing you checked the controller ribbon cable first. Almost had the same thing, thought there might be a problem with the CPU, but went and found a schematic and tested the soldering joint to where it leads to its capacitor and then tested the point to the ribbon cable. Found that the port on the motherboard was corroded and that one lead was the +5vdc supply to the front panel board. This also feeds the power LED which was also not on.
I trade em in to a local game shop I used to sell em on eBay to bankroll for new videos. I’m going to try and find some more projects with whatever I get.
I always retro-brite in the sun. Those lights never worked for me. I've had more yellow cases than that and 8 hours in the Arizona sun makes them look brand new. It's too bad they change back after 6 months though.
@@spaceinvader7047 yeah that seems about right, UN25 is definitely a CPU-B. As for board revision, the SNS-CPU-GPM-02 I think also can have a CPU-A but it’s been a while I could definitely be wrong.
@@PunkNDisorderlyGamer they do definitely have a CPU A and A PPU2 B but those are the early release of the GPM-02 as I had a parts board with a bad CPU A
Thankfully cpu-rgb boards are garbo, they have this unfixable diagonal jailbar on them. They're only worth the cpu chips on them that you can use to fix other dead cpus
@@PunkNDisorderlyGamer I think it's something to do with subcarrier line mudding up the other video lines to cause it. Similar situation the genesis has but no one has bothered to make a rgb bypass board for these things lol
@@pcb123lol voultar is making one, theyre already done but he's only offering install services atm and will release DIY kits with proper documentation when he feels its ready

Your title has a typo if you didn't notice. As for the content, it's always good haha.
Thanks for noticing, I would’ve never realized. 🥹

We won! 😂
Genesis is next now.
So far all SVHC-CPU-01 boards I've been getting are either dirty cartridge slots or bad caps, but I'm only 5 deep so far.

always enjoy your vids, but have you Not got a fume extractor?
@@vincentrutter8793 no, I’m probably gonna die from black lung.
CPU B are from around UN24 to UN25 as my Super NES is a UN24

What burn in cartridge do you use? Is it authentic or do repos work fine?
@@DestructiveMoe7 I use a repo, it’s just a normal rom like the originals.

Yeah I always heard that the RGB-01/02 and the APU-01 boards has them.

Lookout for voultars upcoming mod he fixes all of it on the snes. As for the genesis look for the triple bypass mod@pcb123lol
I was wondering if you keep the solution after retrobriting? otherwise I feel it would cost a lot of money on peroxide.
