thank you for your honesty and genuine opinion, you present your self well, clear to understand and a pleasure to the viewers with technical data. keep up the good work sir.
I have no problem getting 49 mpg on the highway. I did get 53mpg one time but that was hard to get. 46.9mpg combined is the usual for me living in Connecticut with all the hills. Cruise control and the speed limit is key.
i own one.. highline trim model and I filled up last week on sunday here we r friday night and i did one trip into fredericton and back the rest local driving and still showing 950 km range... so if you drive it smart you can achieve great numbers... if you start banging on the gas pedal what do you expect and yes the highway economy is not AS good as a diesel but still nice...
Im going to check this car out for sure im looking for a new car and was not sure about this one good job showing off the car . It sounds like the car for me i think ill have to go test drive one tho .
Why doesn't anyone reviewing this car in these videos ever drive it in stick shift mode? Show us how to drive a dual clutch transmission! I have this car, just bought it used (certified) and I have no idea how to drive that transmission except as if it was automatic.
I would love to, but Subaru has a very limited fleet of cars and the STI isn't one of them. Since the STI is up for replacement soon it isn't a car that they are promoting.
I have the 2013 GLI Autobahn version of this vehicle and a few weeks ago with 2,800 miles on the clock I took it from Long Island to Washington DC. No regards for fuel economy, spurts of 80-90, etc I averaged 31 mpg. I would think the driving experience is much better so not sure if this is worth it. It's hard to overcome wait unless you spend your time stopped a lot driving around in large city traffic congestion.
bought an 06 passat new. between being in the shop every month, the dashboard peeling on everyones VW, the rust bubbling under the paint when i made sure to treat the car like a baby, the premium gas prices to get decent gas mileage and the 90$ oil changes...i can say the peoples car is not something i will ever buy again. ps any DIY or parts you want to do, be prepared to deal with error codes and lights and having to hook up a computer up to it first. its practically built so that only dealers fix it...most shops around here cant make repairs in 2013...on a 2006 car because even they lack the dealer tools. stay far far away.
What you neglected to tell people about those $90 dollar oil changes is that they last 10,000 miles. A regular car paying $40 an oil change every 3,000 miles will spend more than $90 dollars during that same time. So with the Volkswagen, you're getting better value for the dollar. 5 quarts of Amsoil and a MANN filter costs me $62 dollars delivered. To spend only $62 bucks to go 10,000 miles on an oil change is SUPER CHEAP! I signed up as a preferred customer so I can get their magazines and other products for my wife's car. A friend of mine who owns a lawn business told me about it. In one of the emails I got from a dealer, I look up what I need and order from filters.greatmotoroil.com
GMoney see this is where it all falls apart. by the time i hit 4 k i have to top it off. by 6k top it off again. i get the point youre making but 10K on oil without topping it off which makes it even more expensive at 10$ a quart is ....just an illusion...at least in the case of my particular passat. the car was babied. no i dont floor or race it...so there is no reason to think well i tore the engine and now it burns oil.
vasile trusca I had a 2012 Passat. I went to 10,000 miles without ever having to add any oil, ever. It was always full. If you use dealer oil or oil in the store, they sell you crap. This is why I only use Amsoil. You don't save any money with an auto parts store. Auto parts stores only sell crap with high profit margins. They don't care about saving you money or having your car run better. This is why you had the problems you did. Stop doing dealer recommended stuff. That's how they make money! The only thing you can't control is doing the transmission fluid changes every 40,000 miles. Amsoil does not make a compatible fluid for VW tranny's, so you are screwed there and at their mercy,
GMoney by 2012 they had a chance to work out the problems out of them. i have the first generation. but for the sake of entertaining the idea....can you be more speciffic as to what oil and filter you use? i need to do one this week. do you buy it online?
Has this been in Europe? I mean has the bugs been worked out? We seem to get their trickle down technology. I wish America would catch on the the "little" diesel engines. Three clutch packs worries me.
I am a german and i drove for 12 years VW - never more: Poor quality, many repairs and everything is high priced in Germany. The VW Hybrid is a bad copy of the Toyota Hybrid. The combustion engine of the VW produces more dust as an gasoil engine with particle filter. Toyotas combustion engine produces zero dust! The Jetta Hybrid is no "green car".
Best review of a car I've seen on TH-cam. You've earned a subscriber. Thank you!

have you had any problems with it? How do you like it now?
Excellent review was concidering purchase, very informative.
NBCGLX - Good call on the weight! I will put a footnote in the video with the corrected information and credit to you.

Does the 2013 VW Jetta Hybrid have paddle shifters?

whats wrong with the steering? you keep shaking it..
Looks like harsh weather. if it is windy enough, you will have a shaky wheel. especially if the car is light.
So after 10,000 miles we could be expecting 50 miles per gallon highway?
Could you please do a 2013 subaru wrx sti review and drive
I would love to, but Subaru has a very limited fleet of cars and the STI isn't one of them. Since the STI is up for replacement soon it isn't a car that they are promoting.
I could careless for the car. I just want those seats.
Very informative, but oh man the audio is sooo bad.

+GMoney No car has 3000 mile changes. It's 7500 per the manual. Or 10,000 miles in post-2010 cars, so there are no oil change savings there
.
so i just averaged 51.7 mpg highway in my 2012 jetta diesel with a 6 speed manual transmission
could you please! Review the new Mazda 6 I love that car!
Has this been in Europe? I mean has the bugs been worked out? We seem to get their trickle down technology. I wish America would catch on the the "little" diesel engines. Three clutch packs worries me.
Our car was provided by VW for review. We do not own it.
I own one and i get 42 easily considering the shitty roads i have to drive on.
I have the 2013 GLI Autobahn version of This
You need to get a lav mic your audio makes it difficult to watch the entire review
thinking of buying an 30k car and it freaking cuts it to show adds really wtf.
Yea you don't see these cars very often only people who order them from dealerships do reviews thanks anyway

Yes, it's no "green car", it's blue®©™ ;) ;)
The mpg rating is US gallons...
You can get those on a Jetta hybrid
100k mile warranty on the hybrid system.
DSG tune up is expensive around 35k miles. Around 3-$400 bucks!!
I love everything about the Jettas except the extremely ugly and outdated exterior.... such a shame, they need to do a complete revamp
...that's weight. Note to self, don't use your ipad to post TH-cam comments....
just get the tdi, not sure of the reasoning for this car
Jetta hybrid is to expensive.Fuel economy is not impresive.
why don't they make a hybrid for their Golf or GTI...Instead they put a hybrid in their lamest model.
Why does the new jetta look like a Toyota?
