Orlovsky cared about his men and already had concerns about the war. He cared for his country but his loyalty was to his men. He also didn't believe in decimating the enemy anymore then what was necessary, and also was against mistreatment or attack on civilians both as to stop potential resistance and that he was firmly against it. I think the USN was basically stretched to thin to really intervene., the US navy seems to be so desperate for ships, they have the WW2 battleship Missouri supporting Us troops in a mission.
@@nobodyherepal3292 this is 1990 the Missouri was still in service by 1992. In the end of the us campaing the Chinese actually join the invasion with their fleet the usa fleet was ofcourse already fighting around the world. And never expected a home invasion from the pacific side i guess.
The game takes place a few months after the start of WW3 with the invasion of Seattle. The managed to sneak into the US using container ships and taking advantage of their victory of the 3rd fleet in Europe. Apparently the USN was moving ships into Europe since that’s where 90% of the fighting was going on. In other cutscenes you can see fighting in Cuba and the Caribbean.

Exactly, it's incomparable. WiC and SW are 2 different games. The former is more casual while the latter is all about hardcore hyperrealism. The only 2 things they really have in common is that both of them focus on micromanagement and smaller formations combat.
@@PPWRUP And yet you have compared it. What you called the difference falls under the definition of advantages and disadvantages. In my opinion, such games are built around tactical decisions when managing fire contact, and strategic decisions when choosing the composition of troops. Without these components, it's a mouse click game. There is practically no tactical component in WiC. Put tanks in line, and shoot the arriving AI units one by one, without fear of anything. There is almost no strategic component either - as I watch, everyone fights with the same type of unit, as a rule, these are the best tanks without any infantry. By the way SW and hyperrealism are far from each other. SW is also from the group of dynamic shooters, but you also need to think and act diversibly. Hyperrealism is an old Theater of War, that's where you can't go on a spree.
@@rus_iwh unfortunately, I haven't played ToW, though heard many good things about it, so I can't really compare it with SW in that aspect. As far as most RTS games go, SW is in fact pretty close to hyperrealism with a lot of stuff being physical, no hard HP system for units, ammo and fuel running out, attacks like launching ATGMs requiring proper aim, player having access to limited number of units, etc. I once heard a very good characteristic for it on one of the forums: "smaller-scale Wargame" and I pretty much agree as, mechanics- and gameplay style-wise, it's very similar to WG trilogy. As I said, WiC focuses on casual gameplay. You pretty much have infinite units, said units damage model is HP-based one, you don't have limited supplies, the advantages-disadvantages balance is much less punishing, etc., etc. It's not a flaw, it's just how the game is. WiC is also much more story-focused, having much more developed, complex plot, while in SW the plot merely serves the purpose of giving setting for the missions and the main focus is pure gameplay. What you're doing, basically, is trying to compare Call of Duty to Escape from Tarkov, The Elder Scrolls to, say, Kingdom Come or Forza Horizon to Gran Turismo. Neither of the games is better or worse than the other, they are simply different.
