- In an exclusive interview with Nagaland Post, Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) general secretary Rev Zelhou Kehyo stated that the church’s support for the Act extended beyond theological reasons.

Its a question of relatvity assertion visa vis Church and Society....Menace of Alcohol is a known Fact...But the current Hold on Dry State is a Mockery on the Church and the State..what is required is Licencing and quota ,both to propritor and Consumer, like as in Kerala and Mumbai etc...Today we have become a Minting Ground...with more Facilities available through Online facilities Like...Yeast for Alcohol/Wine making...including Distillery Flask etc...wherein raw materials is readily available...

A lot of people are blaming the NBCC like fools. NBCC is acting as a pressure group. The problem is not the NLTP Act but the implementation. NBCC is not the implementing agency of the NLTP Act of 1989. It is the people who elected representatives to form a government and implement policies, amend policies, or revoke legislation that was enacted in the past. NLTP Act is strong, and that's why it has been in place since 1989. The Church, by definition, means all the true believers across the world. So, support the NLTP Act.

The problem we have is not the NLTP Act. The crux of the problem is its implementation. Those against the NLTP Act often cite the loss of crores of rupees each year. Earning revenue from excise duty charges or other sources does not always mean better development. Even direct funds from the Central Government for developmental projects vanished into thin air.

Money coming to the church with and without NLTP ACT is a huge amount. Btw the NBCC is not concerned with filthy/ dirty money coming to church or how a church member earns through syndicate, extortion and smuggling etc... According to NBCC the money can be purified and members can repent later on, but NLTP ACT cannot be removed, amended nor implemented😂.
