I legit had a dream about sleep paralysis then woke up with sleep paralysis (which hasn't happened to me in like 2 years). I knew I liked the song and sung the chorus a loooott before I passed out (I watch ASMR videos to help me sleep so I tend to wake up not knowing exactly when I feel asleep) so I really wasn't expecting it lol but I guess since the idea of sleep paralysis came back to me after I completely forgot it was a thing until two nights ago, It just resurfaced... 🤷♀️
I honestly thought it was about suicide. The limbs being frozen due to rigor mortis and the eyes won't close because she died. Then combined with the guy who wakes up in seemingly a cold sweat having lost her and talking in his sleep possibly referring to talks prior. Then go into "all the good girls go to hell" seeing her kicked out of heaven because of suicide.

“When we all fall asleep where do we go.” The term sleep is used in the Bible specially in the Spanish language version to make reference to somebody who died. This is a theory many say and to me it kinda makes sense, but many people say the guy laying on the bed is X. We all know X died soo maybe there’s a relation or a connection with that frase and the death of X. And the fact that he says Billie at the beginning of the video makes me feel like Billie is speaking for him. Idk if this makes sense but, I’m just trying to understand this video cause I personally believe that there’s more to this video then just plain art and aesthetic.

If a music video has a concept with the slightest bit of narrative, no matter how open-ended, why does this generation get confused by it? People even get upset that a video is "more movie than music video". Videos with narratives were featured with most genres of music in the 80s to the early 2000s. I'm not even that big of a Billie fan, but sometimes you've just got to accept the format an artist chooses. If you try to pinpoint why someone chooses one style over another you've more than likely already missed the artist's point or message.
