Fun fact, she recorded a drill from her dentist and Finneas used it in this production. Her vision but she had help directing this one from an actual horror director, if I remember right.
Yes! I was so waiting for your reaction to this one! I always felt like this one was talking about sleep paralysis that Billie has dealt with in the past. When she does this song in concert she usually does the back bend like the video.
Directed by the same person who did The Conjuring. Billie has said that it’s about sleep paralysis which totally makes sense ( I have had it and it’s terrifying.). The beginning of All The Good Girls Go To Hell begins where this ends.
They used part of this song for the intro of True Detective: Night Country (which was also directed by a horror director) and it was so good for that as well. They cut the credits really well to match the music. I also love that season of True Detective.
This about making friends with the monster under the bed. She is playing the monster. Knew you would love this one. She's a creative type. You got to remember this is over 5 years old so she's 16/17 at the time this was filmed. Crooks is the one in the bed.
My next favorite.. Ooooo this a goodddieeee.... welcome to the family 💯💯♥️♥️🔥🔥🥰🥰...you need to do...nda the cimententic is epic.. happier then ever .that beat drop fireeee...belly ache again the beat.. chirrio..the story....lovely...the two vocals chef kiss...all the good girls go to hell....the video.....just to name few...like I said welcome to the family...your in for a rideeeee🔥🔥🥰🥰🥰♥️♥️
Billie had all that prepubescent and teenage angst and depression, when the world around and inside you are both scary. She was still sleeping with her mom while touring this music, and after she moved into her own home, she went to her parents house to sleep at night. She had to run and jump in her bed at night so nothing hidden beneath it could grab her. In her own home, she had it furnished so all furniture sat flat on the floor - no way for something to hide under it. I assume she's now come to terms with a lot of her fears.
This wasn't the first Billie Eilish song I heard, but it was the one that made me think, Damn, need to hear MORE of her stuff! It's just this wonderful blend of creepy and bop that I love!
I fell in love with this song when it was the theme song of the last series of 'True Detective' Found the video and it blew me away. Absolutely loved watching it again with you, lol I didn't know your eyes could go so big and round! Bet you will be checking under the bed before you go to sleep tonight 😉
Fire reaction! Glad you enjoyed this one and that beat is definitely playlist worthy. Popular mainstream meaning of the video is Billie being her own "monster under the bed," a reflection of the sleep paralysis that used to haunt her and her inspiration from The Babadook movie. Billie always has hidden or double meanings in her songs and videos. The other here is a reflection of the music industry; if you read the lyrics closely it's so fitting -- (1) You're payin'? Is the amount cleanin' you out? Am I satisfactory? Today, I'm thinkin' about the things that are deadly; The way I'm drinkin' you down; Like I wanna drown -- (2) Keep you in the dark, what had you expected? Me to make you my art and make you a star And get you connected? I'll meet you in the park, I'll be calm and collected; But we knew right from the start that you'd fall apart 'Cause I'm too expensive -- (3) It's probably somethin' that shouldn't be said out loud; Calling security, keepin' my head held down, Bury the hatchet or bury a friend right now; The debt I owe, gotta sell my soul; 'Cause I can't say no, no, I can't say no. Can't wait for the next reaction!
The fact she was 17 when she made this is incredible and why she's been called a prodigy. Also why I'm slightly worried about her 28th birthday eventually. 😅
She’s the monster underneath your bed in this video 😁 the song was inspired by Billie’s experiences with sleep paralysis, and it was also inspired by a favorite book of hers called “the babadook.”

The scene with the needles appears again in the "All The Good Girls Go To Hell" video too! It's like the sequel to this.

YES!!!!
i think i remember her saying it was about sleep paralysis, from which she suffers.
She has sleep paralysis so this is what the song is about.
The fact she was 17 when she made this is incredible and why she's been called a prodigy. Also why I'm slightly worried about her 28th birthday eventually. 😅
