    Once you've done that job for awhile, all you have to do is think about the smell and it returns to haunt your nostrals. Even 20 yrs later.
    You are appreciated bud!

    Tom what you need is a pump agitator! Reason 1- when your spreading with the new tanker it will mix the slurry so it’s consistently smooth and not lumpy (especially for a dribble bar) 2- you can put the umbilical pipe on them so you could pump from that tank to the tower directly, we do it here in Ireland !! 😄🐮🇮🇪

    Would be fairly difficult to put a channel in as you would need a fairly deep channel to hold the water so it doesnt just flow over the opposite side or a very wide channel. My advice would be buy an older trip style agitator as very easy to hook on and off (should be able to buy them fairly cheap) one that you can put a pipe onto the top of it for transferring the slurry

  • @richardsurtees5309
    @richardsurtees5309 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hello Tom, Just a thought. I know it would mean more loads. But if you have a hi pressure water hose. When you get to the thick muck near the bottom of the pit you could stir it up with the hi pressure water. That should make it a lot easier to pump out. Just an idea that's all, i hope you don't mind. Grate video looking forward to seeing the next instalment. Regards Richard.

    Like what was said already, let some of the watery stuff back in near the end to aggitate it a bit, also when you filling tank and not sure if its sucking or not, close down handle fast,if pipe gives a jerk its sucking ,the more violent the jerk,the better it's sucking, just don't forget to open it again and also you get used to the sound of vacuum pump,and know when its labouring a bit, which indicates it could be stuck on ground .

    Hi Tom why not pump from the small pit to the main pit instead of using the tractor and tanker? That way you also have a second pump on the farm as a back up for when the main pump might break down?

    I wish governments would offer up to cattle farms biodigesters to help deal with the waste in a productive way. All of that slurry is still energy rich and could be converted to methane for use as fuel for heating or for use in a fuelcell ...and, the process also deals with the smell.
