Hello! I wouldnt really recommend trying this color at home but if you are doing at home all of those things would depend on what your hair looks like at that moment and which products your using.
Since her hair is pretty healthy and dark, why would you not use a 30 vol.? Wouldn't this lift her hair more and she wouldn't have to do several sessions? Just curious as to why hairdressers won't do this, part of me thinks it's because if you make the client come back then you make more money. Not being mean, just don't get why you wouldn't use 30 vol.

If your ends are light, it shouldnt be a problem. But i would consult with your hairdresser

Everyone has different terms for everything. I would just show your hairdresser a photo to best explain your goal
