With freestyle, generally you get called for passivity depending on where you are on the mat. You could be shooting all you want in the match, but if you don’t keep control of the center of the mat, they’ll usually call you for passivity
8:20 can some explain why dake was awarded 2 points there? Im not well versed in how wrestling is scored. Why can they alligator roll their opponent and get 2 points over and over? How does it work and why is it allowed?
Well I don’t know what to tell ya, from what it sounds like you know why it was given. I can’t tell you why they give points for rolls, it’s just a different style of wrestling
I believe it's something about "exposing" the back. If you can keep rolling your opponent, you should, it's 2 points each time. Notice how he only got points for one direction though.
Dake is incredible...yes.... but if his game plan is to let people get in on his legs every time and counter and/or flip em then he ain't gonna do much at the worlds.
zahid will beat dake next time....he made some good adjustments in the second but he was just a bit lazy and wasn't use to wrestling someone that strong but as zahid matures up and wrestles stronger guys he'll beat dake easily
MRxROID Zahid was way more aggressive. Dake just countered & then scored. I noticed the younger more aggressive wrestlers, like Zahid & Daton, lost because the older more experience wrestlers, Dake & Gilman, were more conservative & just countered attacked.
Valencia is a much better technician but Dake is much stronger! This will be a great match as Valencia gains strength and beats Dake with ease - the better technician will always win in the long run!
That would have been something to see Hall getting his hand raised after steam rolling Dake at State College. Hall "Will" dominate 79kg in 2019. Be a great addition to team USA.👍
