Really helpful videos but at 25:22 I think you have mislabelled Legion (cubes) as Auxilia in your Forces diagram.

I cannot believe how brillitan these videos are. You take complex ideas and boil them down to understandable concepts! Keep on trucking!!

Hi, another great series of rules explanation, again for a great game! however, I have a question regarding this part: in 16:58 you bring a example of Roman Seize. in this example, there are four roman pieces, and 4 belgic pieces. therefore, nobody should have control, shouldn't they? if it is just a minor numerical mistake, I won't complain, cause mistakes are just human. But, maybe there is a rule that hidden warbands/auxiliars don't count towards (or against) control, but I didn't find that specific rule though. maybe someone can help?

20:42 - RAID. You don`t need subdued tribes (RAID A) and enemy allied tribes( RAID B). Rules:
3.3.3 Raid. Raids add Resources, including stealing from enemies.
Select any Regions where the executing Faction has Hidden
    Warbands. Pay no Resources.
PROCEDURE: In each selected Region, the executing Faction flips
one or two of its Hidden Warbands to Revealed. For each Warband that flipped, it either:
    • Adds one Resource, but only if the Region is not Devastated
    (4.3.2), OR
    • Takes one Resource from a non-Germanic enemy that has pieces
in the Region but neither Citadel nor Fort.
Forces/Pieces: Wooden pieces represent the Factions’ Leaders (tall cylinders, if
any), Roman Legions (cubes), Roman Auxilia or Gallic or Germanic Warbands (hexagonal cylinders), Allied Tribes (also called “Allies”, discs), and Roman Forts and Gallic Citadels (squares and diamonds).

These visual summaries are great. I'd love to be able to get a pdf copy if available. Please consider posting them on Board Game Geek.

Another amazing video! By the way at 36:24 I don't think it matters if the Belgians have a defensive structure or not. They can't take advantage of it as the Attacker even during a counterattack.

These videos are great! My only suggestion/request would be to add a table of contents with links to different rules sections since there's a lot to search through in one video!

Maybe my rulebook isn't correct (I'm using an online pdf) but I can't seem to find any comment in the rulebook that a harassing faction has to reveal the pieces they harass with. Could someone point me to the page in the rulebook where this is stated? I don't see it under harassment on page 7.
"HARASSMENT: If any part of a group both enters and then leaves a
Region during a single March Command, any Factions with enough Hidden Warbands there may opt to inflict Losses on the moving pieces as those pieces depart (not on any dropped off pieces). Announce and inflict Losses in the Faction Order shown on the currently played Event card (2.3.2), then do so with Germans (3.4.5). Any agreement earlier that Command not to Harass applies (1.5.2). (For every three Hidden Warbands that the Faction has there (rounded down), the Romans must either remove one departing Auxilia or-if any Legions or Leader remain with the group-may instead roll a die. If the roll is a 1, 2, or 3 (only), the Romans must remove the Legion or Leader."
Maybe there's a more general rule in the rulebook that I'm missing?
Also, regarding Gallic raids, where in the rulebook is the rule that specifies that a subdued tribe needs to be present in the region for the raid to be conducted? From page 10, RAIDS:
"3.3.3 Raid. Raids add Resources, including stealing from enemies.
Select any Regions where the executing Faction has Hidden Warbands. Pay no Resources.
PROCEDURE: In each selected Region, the executing Faction flips one or two of its Hidden Warbands to Revealed. For each Warband that flipped, it either:
    • Adds one Resource, but only if the Region is not Devastated
    (4.3.2), OR
    • Takes one Resource from a non-Germanic enemy that has pieces
in the Region but neither Citadel nor Fort."
Don't see a mention of subdued tribes being needed? Or, is it assumed that, in order to steal from the bank (as opposed from another player, Option B as outlined in the video), that a subdued tribe needs to be present? If so, is there a section of the rules that clarifies this?
For diagram at 25:34 , the soldiers are listed as "Warband (Hexagonal Prism), Auxilia (Cube) and Leader (Cylinder)". I'm assuming this was meant to be "Warband / Auxilia (Hexagonal Prism), Legion (Cube) and Leader (Cylinder)", correct?
In the example at 36:30 , you mention the Belgic faction doesn't have any defensive structures in the region to half the damage from the counterattack. But didn't you say earlier that, in the event of a counterattack, the original aggressors that instigated the fight cannot benefit from defensive structures? Only the original defending faction (in this case, the Romans) can use building forces to half incoming damage. This is my understanding thus far from this video. Could you clarify if I'm correct in my assessment?
I know it's a lot, but I'm just really trying to learn the game and these are points where I've found myself confused, so I'd like to hear your input. Thanks!

Furthermore, according to the above rules I quoted, a Gallic raid stealing from players (Option B) only requires a victim's pieces to be in the region (and no fort or citadel to be present).
Given that, why do you outline that one or more ally structure pieces from an opposing player are needed in the region? Wouldn't just any piece do?
I'd appreciate it if someone could point out where in the rulebook it mentions that an enemy **ally** piece is specifically required to be present, rather than just any piece.

Thanks for doing this sir! I do, however, have a question regarding Roman's Seize command @18:26 in the video. Of note, I'm referencing the 2nd ed. of the rules so perhaps it changed from 1st ed. The question is around the die rolling. in Section §3.2.3 for the Rally portion of the command, instructs each of Arverni then Belgae to each roll a die, which I understand as a single die for each. your animation shows two yellow dice being rolled. Then on a success, each qualifying adjacent region would get a free rally. If, however, there were two markers placed then 2 dice would be rolled (1 for each). Can anyone help clarify?

      @markwignall6181 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Similarly, @21:30, for Raiding by a Gual from another faction, the video states an allied tribe must be present, but the §3.3.3 in 2nd ed. states as long as their are enemy pieces (non-Germanic), which I take to include Legion/Aux not just tribes.
