I'm having issue with my rig with either 6 or 7 cards added to the rig. gpu 2 hang message appear on startup and freeze the miner even though computer recognize all 6 or 7 cards. I'm not sure if I need more physical ram since I'm using 8gb but I put my virtual mem at 8000/16000. Using 17.5.1, 17.4.4,16.11.5 and 17.4.3 driver and tried claymore 9.3/9.5. I already clean install windows 10 pro and can't get it to mine past 5 cards.
Insane build man. I think i will start making mine. One question is the display cable just connected to the graphics card thats plugged into the first pci?
Two Questions as I'm a newbie: 1. I have a ASRock 970 Extreme4 with two xfx radeon 290 4 GB. the MB has 5 PCI, so adding two more should be fine? 2. In your video, you seemed to split gpu power so that one cable powered two or 3. Where do you get the split cables?
you mean split the molex cables? each card is powered by one 8 pin plus either a molex or sata connector, the molex connectors have multiple connections so I doubled them up
Very nice vid!! Question, I noticed you have the same problem as I had with the vid output of the cards being blocked by the shelf grill. Where do you attach the video to? I didn’t see it on the motherboard.
this is a very cool setup! I Tried ethereum with my setup and it is a slow process but with my gaming pc im making a little bit with just cpu mining on zcash. havent figured out how to get nicehash to make my gpu mine but I have had a fun few days looking at different mining programs. cant wait to see more videos man
Awesome setup you have, I have four GPU's going on Windows 7 with no problems, all plugged into the x1 PCI-e slots. The other slots on the mobo are the x-16 slots. When I plug in a fifth GPU into thee x16 slot Ethminer does not recognize the GPU. Any help would be appreciated. All the GPU's work in the x1 slots but none i the 1-16 slots. All five are recognized by Windows in the Device Manager. Thanks for your time.
Hey now I want to build a 10 gpu miner. What motherboard should I buy? thanks again. Also does Leadex 2000W PSU is necessary when I dont have to pay for electricity.
Thanks , i have a Z97-G45 GAMING with also 7 pci-e slot, but i can only change the pci-e gen setting for the 1st pcie 16x slot. the other 2 is nailed at pci-e gen3
I have the same MB, with 6 RTX3060LHR and it works great, I've tried to add the 7th one and it gives me errors, even the display doesn't get a signal, any suggestions? ideas? or that'd all I can get out of it?
what do you think about the : MSI AMD Radeon RX 570 GAMING X 4GB ??? should i buy 6 of these and setup with the ASRock H81 Pro BTC R2.0 ?? I think i get 168 hash power
Had the same setup here (but with a 1840, 4MB). Nice board but only had a 1300w power supply...so never ran a full 7 gpus. I liked the board so much I upgraded my main computer with it and put a BTC Pro r2.0 in it's place. Anyway...what was the at the wall power draw for it all?
Hello, I'm trying to built 7x GPU rig with MSI Z97 Gaming 5 motherboard. The problem I faced is that MB is not starting when 2+ GPUs are connected via USB risers. It works only with onboard graphic controller or with only one GPU connected to 16xPCI-E via powered USB riser. Please share what tweaks you are making to get 7GPUs work Any help is appreciated Best regards, Serge
Darth Pincho Start the pc without any gpu's connected and go into the bios. Find the option, "multi gpu access" or something like that, and enable it. I've also had this issue and this method worked for me.
Hi. I have the same problem. Can you please help me? Im using MSI b150 gaming m3. when i put multi gpu via riser usb it wont boot up. Sometimes it will but the screen will shutter and restart itself. I just bought it. Now im having doubt if its broken or there is only a settings need to modify to use multi GPU. Thank you sir!
the 480 8g is a bit faster than the 470 4g card. but its not fast enough to really make it work the extra cost. if i would buy more id buy 470, 470d (chinese market card) or the upcoming 570.
Thanks for the info. What's your take on the Radeon R9 Fury? It has 3584 Stream Processor Units. Also, the Rx 470, does RAM size matter a lot? - Do you prefere the 8 GB version?
for 470 just get the 4g cards should be fine I think. 8G im not sure about bios mods and what not, so not sure but 4g is a lot cheaper. Fury, i dunno never had one, though I would think newer cards would be easier to resell later.
I'm working on an 8 GPU build now, hopefully it works and ill update with a video. Only thing i would have done different in this build is if I had to buy the power supply, since I already had the one I used, would be to use 2 750G2. ... and maybe use XFX cards instead of sapphires. also the i7 was totally not necessary.. i just used it as an excuse to get one (but at the time it was semi useful for zcash).. same with the 16 gigs ram, not necessary. you can go celeron and 4 gigs of ram.
Bro I have several question to you if you answer I'll be really happy :) Are you recommended rx470's or rx480's and what am i need to go with 8 gb or 4 gbs ? Are you recommended this one or your low electricity build with rx470's Are you recommended zcash mining atm or ethereum mining? Both of them in a lower trend. But Zcash miners rocking some hashes atm. Thanks in advance :-)
well id recommend 470 nitros with hynix if you can get them, or if you can find a stable rom elpida memory. they are cheaper and the hashrate difference is little compared to 480.. otherwise 480s are good too... slightly better resale and gaming value and slightly better hashrate and better memory. id go 4G with 470 and 8g with 480, but thats just what I bought, you could try whatever you think is best for you. not sure what you mean by this one or low electricity build with rx470's. I use the boysie rom on all my 470's, but you will have to see what works best for you, if the rom is stable when mining for you... ZCash for sure, still making way more than I can with ETH even today
Thanks for answer man I'm thinking about entering mining for a long time but i can't in the past 4 month because of other issues. Now when i calculate when i rx470's i'll roi about 7 months and I'm anxious about that becaus zec price isn't stabile and eth difficulty raising each day should i go still ? And yeah I talked about boysie's rom thanks for remainder again gygabite rx 470's best fitting gpu for me atm with 200$'s i'll go with it i guess. Have a good day bro.
Mate sorry for troubling you so much i hope you will forgive me lol. I'm asking because i don't have too much knowledge about amd cards. If i buy powercolor or gigabyte's rx 470's Can i edit them like boysie roms specs with polaris editor because in these cards as you know there is no sapphire triix. Thanks for answer :)
Oh I see haha. That's good. I was wondering as I bios nodded all mine. Just copied 1600 strap to 1750 and 2000. doing 28 hash now happy with that. btw what happened to your cards that you need to rma? Just so I can keep eye on mine for similar symptoms. thanks
leaked grease onto my motherboards and one PSU... you need to watch the bottom (whichever way you position yours) to see if you see any oil... if you see oil, its actually grease from the thermal tape... very horrible.. if you remove the backplate you will see a strip of black thermal tape --... that thermal tape MELTS... it is hot here in summer and fall so the GPUs get hot.. high 70s usually at that time of year.. and running them 24/7 is too much for that thermal tape... it turns to goo grease oil.... check your temps, if you runninng over 75 degrees sometimes, take off the backplate of the one you think is most hot, and look at the black tape.. check if its melted
Thanks very much for your reply. temps wise I'm running about 62c so maybe I will be ok. I will defo monitor them. Would you void warranty to remove back plate ?
Hi cryptomined. What would be my best bet for a 7 GPU rig of R9 Furys or Vegas when they're out? I ordered the MSI Z170A and am reading now that they have problems with more than 4 GPUs
basically any Z270 board with 7 slots. asu strix, z270-a or ar, biostarGT6. But i will be building an 8 gpu rig with a different board than those, its more cost effective and can handle 8 GPU (which seems the maximum in windows). stay tuned i should upload the first of 2 builds like that this week.. all components are here, just fighting for free time at this point
Great Job!!!! In the video you say that we could connect 2 PSU to the rig. How could I connect 2 PSU in one rig? I tried connecting 2 1200W to a rig but, I think I created a short circuit and I don't know why. I connected in first PSU: Motherboard, CPU, Additional Molex, SSD, 3 risers, 3 GPUs. In the second PSU: 3 risers, 3 GPU but, when I turned on the rig, the second PSU seems to have burned or damaged the GPUs. Thanks in advance for your support.
+Cryptomined thanks for your reaply. Yes, I used usb powered risers. I connected 3 of them in first PSU and other 3 in the second PSU. I saw smoke on 3 GPUs of the "second PSU" (where I connected 3GPUs and 3 usb powered risers). Fortunately, when I rolled back to use 1 PSU, all the GPUs started working, as ussually. This happened 1 month ago and they actually are mining a top speed -now they are mining zcash. What do you think about the failure with 2 PSU? what was my mistake?
Rosmar Prieto strange, that should be ok for 2 PSU's. I read the problems come from connecting ribbon risers and having electricity flow from PSU 1 into PSU 2. I should read up on it more
Hey, this was really good. But I am too much of a noob. Do you have a video (or can you refer me to a video) that shows how to load the OS, the mining software, etc?
just for ubuntu, i wont bother doing a how to install windows video as its pretty straight forward. if you see most of my mining software videos they show you how to set it up, at least, if there are multiple versions the first video on the first version should show you how to generally set it up. You can also find instructions on most pools
i have 7 gpus running , all get picked up by win 10 , when claymore starts all gpus start mining at around 28 mh/s except for a single gpu that has a low hash rate of 4.xxx mh/s . any information on how to correct this would be greatly appreciated amd driver version 16 - patched to 17 7 rx 580 strix 1000 watt + 850 watt PSU asus z170 motherboard
no it shouldnt be that high! if you fine tune them and unvervolt in the overclock, even stock it shudnt pull more than 1.2*k 120w times 7 = 840 and mb+cpu etc will be no more than 200, undervolt the gpu's and u can get 80-100w, i know commonly a 6 gpu rig fine tuned will be around 850w
I like it a lot because, even if 7 slot mainboard system has an higher invest cost, in long therm it's the best choice... that's even the nature of mining, you doing good invest, you want more money back... I thnik also a rig (shelf/rack) with grids... and hang the cards on it is one of the best and most reliable constructions you can do... It's also best for air cooling... A rack with grids (for 3 "rigs") it's only about 50€ on amazon...
the best plates for MBs would even be alu plates, doing this gaps on it, then additional drill holes for air into the backplates of your motherboards..
Hello bro. Could I use 7 RX480 Sapphire Nitro GPUs with 1 EVGA SuperNOVA 1300 G2 power supply? I want to put together a new rig. You recommend these cards over the others. I want the ones that give me better performance here in Venezuela spending on electricity is almost free. Do you recommend another motherboard that supports 7 GPUs? The Z97 is out of stock everywhere
I like flypool, suprnova is probably also good, i want to test out nanopool, and i heard coinsforall is paying out, so thats not a bad choice if you want to use eXTremals miner. dont hear much good about the new nicehash pool to be honest.
i am mining in supernova , the problem is , they are going to much site down...i was mining in coinsforall, i stop because payment.... i wil try flypool...thanks...
I have been playing around tonight with the new Genoil 5.0 and made 2 out of 8 rigs crash with the -k zec zec… I only get 10 sol+ when using the extra zec. be careful with the 5.0 and use the 4.3 instead, all RX480 rigs crashes with 5.0
I have tested it for the last 10h with 5 rx480 and I really don't get any higher sol/s, it is just more stable on the top side of the sol/s rate compared to 4.1 (before 150 - 165, now is more stable around 165) Another great video btw :)
Armando Cavallo thats good, i still need to test it, i ended up passig out earlier, and not playing around in linux, after i make a few linux tutorials I will take a closer look at v5 (maybe v6 will be out by them lol)
Windows will not recognize more than 5 cards. I started filling up the pci slots from left to right, but it will only "see" 5 x Sapphire RX 470 OC cards. All 6 cards have their fans running, I can switch one of the cards and still it works, so I don't believe its a faulty GPU. Is there a bios setting or anything else I need to do to have Windows 10 recognize more than 5 cards. I also had the same problem on an Gigabyte FX990-GAMING motherboard, windows will only see 5 cards.
I bought this card with 4 XFX RAdeon 480 I updated to the last BIOS but I cant find "CPU PCI-E Land Configuration [x8/x4/x4]" any help? What BIOS version are you using?
I am a total noob when it comes to mining but i can't help but ask. Will the mining profits be able to cover eventually the cost of this setup as well as the electricity ?
we cant predict the future, and I dont know your electricity costs... any calculated estimates today could change tomorrow - you need to make your own decision based on your expected future value of such coins and mining difficulty etc. to mine or not to mine is a personal decision, and I advise if you dont know what to do, don't do it.
i got it locally, but they are really cheap quality, i sell a much better one in my store cryptomined.com I had bought 2 like that in the video and one of them didnt even work (buttons.. USB worked, but power button didnt)
hi Cryptomined i hope can help me. i have msi z170a krait gaming 3x and i install w10 64bit. installing all hardware, only 2 videocard is active. all 3 say (error 43) what Do I have to activate the 5 video cards? only mining 2 of 5 gpu i have.
I bought them here (I live in china) but they are very very cheap quality, one doesnt even work anymore (i bought 2 of them). I sell a higher quality panel in my store: cryptomined.com Please take a look, you might find some things you need :) and using the store helps me create more good content to help teach you and everyone else about mining - thanks in advance HDD/SSD sata3.0 cables are usually provided with your motherboard.
im not really sure exactly, ZCash keeps changing price and difficulty quickly and all my rigs are working together. you can check my what to mine video and see what the revenue/profit is as i used these numbers for that video
nice video sir could you tell us about profit or loss in this mining rig in a month in a week you get result performance please shere the information it's really help full to all our subscribers
hi man, i have the same configuration as You, only the cpu is a i3, (i have only 470 gpu's). but don't recognise more then 4 gpu's in the same time. If i put 4 is ok, If i set 5 gpu's 3 of then has an exclamation sign (in device manager) and If i set 7 gpu's i see only 6 ( or 5 sometimes ). my bios version is the same as yours. Do you have any idea why is not working? I say it's the pci driver but I don't know what to do.
Hey Crypto, I have this same board with 7x RX480 8G OC. I've implemented the bios settings as you recommended, and went ahead to install Windows. No matter what I do at this point the computer crashes and restarts, all the cards are recognized by DEVMNG. I've reinstalled Windows, disabled Windows Updates in Group Policy.. And nothing... My set up consists of a PSU that is confirmed working properly on another rig, 4 x16 risers and 3 of the short blue ones (All powered). When I check the Event Viewer it just shows Kernal-Power. Im so close to giving up, 40th hour and counting. Cheers.
Switched to all PCI-E Powered Risers, was able to mine for 30 hours. Suddenly got a BSOD "Thread Stuck In Device Driver", and upon re-installation of Windows 10 when I try to install new drivers I get the same BSOD. WTF LOL
Turns out that one card is dead, did a full test of each riser, card, psu connectors.. All six others are mining away wonderfully. Awaiting RMA to arrive! :) Thanks Crypto!
ive had 2 of my nitros die on me in the last few months (1 480 and 1 470).. my xfx never died, no problems what so ever... and i've found other problems with the nitros recently... i'm afraid ill only be able to recommend xfx in the future.
Hello, I have MSI Z170A Gaming M Motherboard and 6x MSI AMD RX480 8G GPU. My Motherboard is supporting only 3 GPU in PCI-E1, PCI-E2, PCI-E5. PCI-E3, PCI-E4 and PCI-E6 slots is not working so can you suggest any setting for enable PCI-E3, PCI-E4 and PCI-E6 slots.
cheaper, i have not done enough research on the different kinds of 570 and what ram them have. most people buy nitros from sapphire. I really like the 570 xfx with removable fans. (the high end xfx 570) as it makes them very easy to clean when they get dusty. Some people also really like the MSI cards. HIS might also be nice. Powercolor could also be nice.
Where did u buy the pci powered connecters from. I bought them off of eBay and they don't work. Well the power the card but no video. But with non powered one it works.
LOL ok thanks I will try in the future www.amazon.co.uk/Super-Flower-Leadex-Platinum-Netzteil/dp/B00T0ZEWP0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1478038449&sr=8-1&keywords=2000W+leadex
yes it could for sure would be enough, though im not an expert at linking them together, so thats up to you to figure out the best way to do it. Best I can do is get you the cable to link the GPUs together.. but how to wire the rest is kinda debatable
HELLO IS AN EQUAL RX 480 OF 4GB MEMORY TO AN RX480 OF 8GB, I do not know if I buy this Sapphire Radeon NITRO Rx 480 8GB GDDR5 OR SAPPHIRE NITRO Radeon RX 480 4GB
Having the same board but cannot get the 7th GTX 1070 working. It is recognized under Win10, but shows error 12: not enough resources... BIOS MOD did not help. ANY IDEA?
I've seen a lot of these builds but I don't see how it's possible to connect 7 GPUs to all these PSUs. The PSUs only have 6 PCI-E cables. Do you have to buy a splinter or something for one of the six cables so you can hook up 7?
I would really need to do more research on how best to set it up, i have read and been told different ways to attach GPU's and riser power, but I would get some mix of EVGA G2 PSU.s
i'm starting with a tight budget, would a I3-4130 3.4Ghz CPU work with this build? also would mining with 2-3 RX 470 4GB GPUs then scale work? i'm basically putting all my funds right now into this, scaling with the profit.
Nice vid Cryptomined. Mining porn at its best!!!! I kinda fell behind watching your vids. It seems here lately I spend all my waking hours restarting/watching Genoil's ZEC miners... Cant wait till a stable miner is built. Cheers and thx again!!
7? seven? LOL 7 is so last year.. stay tuned for the 8 GPU build (there are a number of boards you can use now in the new intel chipsets). you got asus strixx 270, 270-a, 270-ar, biostar GT6, and a few others... those are straight forward 7 gpu boards, but so many boards can take 7 now with a m.2 to pcie card or a 1-3 extension riser. stay tuned, 8 gpu build coming up shortly. (like as soon as I finish cleaning up the house and finish with store responsibilities, and finish unboxing a few things to make some extra videos... its getting built.. everything is waiting for assembly. I wil be building 3 rigs this week: 6 GPU TB350, and 2 8GPU builds, one with 480 8g and one with 500 series cards
well I am very impressed with the price and quality of EVGA PSUs at the moment. I only buy Corsair, EVGA and Superflower PSUs. So I would probably go with 2 EVGA 750G2 or EVGA 850G2, or possibly one of each :)
Cryptomined hey, first of all thanks for the videos, let me ask. How would you connect 2 psu properly, would you make a video about it? I heard a lot of pros and cons but found nothing about properly connect them to risers, gpu and stuff.
Rafael Oliveira Well I have not done it myself so it would be hard for me to do a video on, but you should get a special cable to connect the two powersupplies together through the mohterboard sockets, then hook up the mother board and some GPUs to one PSU (and their corresponding risers using USB risers), and then just hook up the other GPUs to the secondary PSU and their corresponding risers. USB risers eliminate the problem of the power from the secondary PSU going back to the first PSU.
Sure :) i can recommend cryptomined.com I can get you the risers at a reasonable price. People kept asking me to get them risers so I thought it would just be easier to build a storefront for people to use as there is a lot more I can get people other than risers :) i just need to finish it off tonight, make sure coinpayments.com is set up properly - received an email back from them confirming settings so I will soon get in there and make sure its all proper and working. I have to investigate a darkweb ZCash exchange and while im doing that or after, I will finish off cryptomined.com :) though I ship directly from China, not the EU,.. though I have already sent risers to people in Europe who have asked for my help in getting them, so its doable :)
I really appreciate it mate, would be nice if more people like u in the internet willing to help out and be so responsive...ill do that with cryptomined...
in this build I used these ones: cryptomined.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_4&products_id=1 but not i have changed some to these also: cryptomined.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_215&products_id=199 cryptomined.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_214&products_id=200
Hello Cryptomined! I am trying to build a rig like yours but for some reason my computer just wont show me anything on the screen after installing the 6th card. Do know how to solve this problem?
@Cryptomined Actually, I just managed to get them all detected but two of them shows me the error code 43, I used the 6gpu mod but that didnt solve the problem for the last GPU Edit: I just read all of your recommendations! At least I though it was just me having issues with getting 7 cards running. My main problem at the moment is getting rid of the error code 43, I am really running out of ideas here X.X
I will might start selling little things like that as I get asked quesitons like where do you get your risers a lot. I bought it in China. do you want one/some?
Yes I would like to have one asap. Email to nicemail1202@yahoo.com for payment information. I am trying to build a rig like yours and if there is anything I might need to buy, please let me know. Thank you
i really like your no bullshit type of videos...
talk when you need to talk to . dont talk when you dont need to.
please help. My MSI MSI Z170A GAMING M5. Not see working with more than 4GPUs. where do I go in Bios to set it for more than 4 GPUs? thank you
I'm having issue with my rig with either 6 or 7 cards added to the rig. gpu 2 hang message appear on startup and freeze the miner even though computer recognize all 6 or 7 cards. I already clean install windows 10 pro and can't get it to mine past 5 cards.
Hey, for the GPU, did u took the 4gb or 8gb ?
Insane build man. I think i will start making mine. One question is the display cable just connected to the graphics card thats plugged into the first pci?
Two Questions as I'm a newbie:
I didn’t see it on the motherboard.

where did you plug in the monitor?
Thank you very much for your comment. Friend I have another question you know of a page where they sell full equipment gpu rig mining with bitcoin?
i have a x99s gaming 7. i want to use it as minings since i cant afford another card. how do i modify my bios. it only leys me use 4 gpu. help please
I have the same motherboard how did you make out with the bios and GPU
Can you show the power draw with a wattmeter? Also, which gpu did you plug the monitor into?
it wwould be very usefull if you would add bios configuration setup on your video
Hello friend, Do you used any special configuration for windows or claymore? or simply install all drivers and run claymore?. Thaks
What's your opinion on DDR4 vs DD4 memory? I'm reading about better overclocking with DDR4.
Also does Leadex 2000W PSU is necessary when I dont have to pay for electricity.
hello i have the MSI Z97 Gaming 7 and i pus 7 gpu but show me just 6 way and in aida it see 7 way ?
How did you connect the GPU's ?? do you use any ati crossfire thing or what?? thanks for the answer :D
no crossfire for mining, just changed motherboard bios settings for PCIE lanes to gen2 and changed the 16x config to 8x4x4x
tnx for the answer sir.. :D
May i know which version bios you are using? thanks!
my board came installed with the most recent version i think its like 1.13 or something
Thanks , i have a Z97-G45 GAMING with also 7 pci-e slot, but i can only change the pci-e gen setting for the 1st pcie 16x slot. the other 2 is nailed at pci-e gen3
Hi this is really awesome. I would love to build a rig and play with this. Can this be done with Nvidia?
Do you still recommend this rig for ZEC? Do you have a video with a better option?
Anyway...what was the at the wall power draw for it all?
havent checked the wall yet, been to busy trying to get these gpu miners to run smooth
No kidding! Genoil .6 miner no better (but prettier) than .5. All machines have gpus that go to 0S/s with no "auto-fix"....still.
Hello,
I'm trying to built 7x GPU rig with MSI Z97 Gaming 5 motherboard. The problem I faced is that MB is not starting when 2+ GPUs are connected via USB risers. It works only with onboard graphic controller or with only one GPU connected to 16xPCI-E via powered USB riser. Please share what tweaks you are making to get 7GPUs work
Any help is appreciated
Best regards,
Serge
How do you solve this issue??. Im facing the same.
Darth Pincho Start the pc without any gpu's connected and go into the bios. Find the option, "multi gpu access" or something like that, and enable it. I've also had this issue and this method worked for me.
Thank you!
Darth Pincho did you figure out how to enable multi GPU? I badly need help. Thank you!
Great video. I wonder if your hashrate for the RX480 is any higher than for the RX470...? I didn't notice any difference in your first mining test.
the 480 8g is a bit faster than the 470 4g card. but its not fast enough to really make it work the extra cost. if i would buy more id buy 470, 470d (chinese market card) or the upcoming 570.
Anything you'd buy different from your description list? Video was last September. (P.s. this is awesome gonna send an ETH tip tonight.)
Thanks ETH tip sent last night.
What is the total power consumption from the wall? I guess 850/950W
This video is a bit of a mining porn :)
No dought!!!! I had a woody the whole time! LOL
would you please share the hash rate per card for litecoin with sgminer?
Wow man, this is nice!!!
How many sol/s do you get?
over 200 :)
How much you get with the new claymore update?
***** 1100+
could you please tell me what you display out of thanks
Bro I have several question to you if you answer I'll be really happy :)
Are you recommended rx470's or rx480's and what am i need to go with 8 gb or 4 gbs ?
Are you recommended this one or your low electricity build with rx470's
Are you recommended zcash mining atm or ethereum mining?
And btw I don't know how to specify hynix memory on cards :(
Eren yiğit neither do i
Mate sorry for troubling you so much i hope you will forgive me lol. I'm asking because i don't have too much knowledge about amd cards. If i buy powercolor or gigabyte's rx 470's Can i edit them like boysie roms specs with polaris editor because in these cards as you know there is no sapphire triix. Thanks for answer :)
Do i need instal the driver first? If yes how? Do i need plug in the vga cable into one of the gpu first to install driver?
Which "AMD drivers Version" did you install in windows 10
ASUS PRIME H270-PLUS will work with 6 gpu?
Would you void warranty to remove back plate ?
which console based software and pool used for it?
Another great video!
Thanks in advance for your support.
did you use usb risers?
I should read up on it more
What's your total hashing power from all 7 of your GPU's
Hey, this was really good. But I am too much of a noob. Do you have a video (or can you refer me to a video) that shows how to load the OS, the mining software, etc?
just for ubuntu, i wont bother doing a how to install windows video as its pretty straight forward. if you see most of my mining software videos they show you how to set it up, at least, if there are multiple versions the first video on the first version should show you how to generally set it up. You can also find instructions on most pools
Is it true that it is bad to have the motherboard close to pvc board(or Sintra board) because of the Chance of esd?
i have 7 gpus running , all get picked up by win 10 , when claymore starts all gpus start mining at around 28 mh/s except for a single gpu that has a low hash rate of 4.xxx mh/s . any information on how to correct this would be greatly appreciated
amd driver version 16 - patched to 17
7 rx 580 strix
1000 watt + 850 watt PSU
asus z170 motherboard
hello!
what you say about MSI Z97-G43 and Asus B85-Plus can I Build 7 GPU Mining Rig??
thank you.
what is the total power consumption from the wall on that rig ????
no it shouldnt be that high! if you fine tune them and unvervolt in the overclock, even stock it shudnt pull more than 1.2*k 120w times 7 = 840 and mb+cpu etc will be no more than 200, undervolt the gpu's and u can get 80-100w, i know commonly a 6 gpu rig fine tuned will be around 850w
No more than 2000w :P
I have a question, Can I sli or crossfire with x1 to x16 with normal x16 slot?
hyy I can try this with z97 gaming 3 with 4 GPU,s but not work MB not starting plz give me any solution
Hi, if you had to make this build again now would you use the same specs? which two psu would you choose? thanks
I would choose 2 750G2 EVGA PSU's and use a dual link PSU cable.
750G2 are hard to find where I live. How about the EVGA NEX750G? www.evga.com/Products/Specs/PSU.aspx?pn=d2a98331-4c5b-4cee-9a94-d5f1ae46ab98. Thanks
yes looks good. is that the new version of the G2? just make sure it has at least 4 VGA connections and your cool
The Z97 is out of stock everywhere
nice!! i am building one with 6 rx 480 oc .... with pool are the best now for mining zcash?
I like flypool, suprnova is probably also good, i want to test out nanopool, and i heard coinsforall is paying out, so thats not a bad choice if you want to use eXTremals miner. dont hear much good about the new nicehash pool to be honest.
i am mining in supernova , the problem is , they are going to much site down...i was mining in coinsforall, i stop because payment.... i wil try flypool...thanks...
Ernesto Vazquez yes someone complained about this yesterday and I welcomed them to flypool
Doug Fresh i second that
I have been playing around tonight with the new Genoil 5.0 and made 2 out of 8 rigs crash with the -k zec zec… I only get 10 sol+ when using the extra zec. be careful with the 5.0 and use the 4.3 instead, all RX480 rigs crashes with 5.0
ill test it out, thanks for the heads up :)
I have tested it for the last 10h with 5 rx480 and I really don't get any higher sol/s, it is just more stable on the top side of the sol/s rate compared to 4.1 (before 150 - 165, now is more stable around 165)
Another great video btw :)
Armando Cavallo thats good, i still need to test it, i ended up passig out earlier, and not playing around in linux, after i make a few linux tutorials I will take a closer look at v5 (maybe v6 will be out by them lol)
It would be nice to around 40 sol/s x card (stable) lol. But are you running it on Linux or Windows?
Martin Christensen true
Will the mining profits be able to cover eventually the cost of this setup as well as the electricity ?
we cant predict the future, and I dont know your electricity costs... any calculated estimates today could change tomorrow - you need to make your own decision based on your expected future value of such coins and mining difficulty etc. to mine or not to mine is a personal decision, and I advise if you dont know what to do, don't do it.
hey man
Where did you get that power/usb interface ?
i got it locally, but they are really cheap quality, i sell a much better one in my store cryptomined.com I had bought 2 like that in the video and one of them didnt even work (buttons..
How to make the MSI z170 m5 to use more than 4 GPUs?
My MSI CArd did not bring those HDD, LED, POWER cable that you have ... Where did you buy them? Thanks
I bought them here (I live in china) but they are very very cheap quality, one doesnt even work anymore (i bought 2 of them). I sell a higher quality panel in my store: cryptomined.com Please take a look, you might find some things you need :) and using the store helps me create more good content to help teach you and everyone else about mining - thanks in advance
HDD/SSD sata3.0 cables are usually provided with your motherboard.
Can I use ETHER to pay?
Hi Henry, Yes you can use Ether to pay :) Thank you
thanks for the great video!
can you please add the link for download the GPU miner for ether?
thanks :)
man that looks so nice
how much money do you get per day ?
im not really sure exactly, ZCash keeps changing price and difficulty quickly and all my rigs are working together. you can check my what to mine video and see what the revenue/profit is as i used these numbers for that video
nice video sir could you tell us about profit or loss in this mining rig in a month in a week you get result performance please shere the information it's really help full to all our subscribers
hi man, i have the same configuration as You, only the cpu is a i3, (i have only 470 gpu's). but don't recognise more then 4 gpu's in the same time.
WTF LOL
you changed to ribbon risers?
Turns out that one card is dead, did a full test of each riser, card, psu connectors.. All six others are mining away wonderfully. Awaiting RMA to arrive! :)
Thanks Crypto!
ive had 2 of my nitros die on me in the last few months (1 480 and 1 470).. my xfx never died, no problems what so ever... and i've found other problems with the nitros recently... i'm afraid ill only be able to recommend xfx in the future.
Wow.. Although, do the xfx cards support the 29mh low watt bios?? If that's the case then maybe I should give xfx a try. Cheers
13:07 are the 470s hashing out more than the one 480? Wow.
how could you see that small font size. You must be a wizard LOL :D
May there be any problem if I work with a 1600w psu?
What is the Hashing power of this rig?
could you reupload the bios photos, links are dead
please and thanks
Hi is the set up very loud?
Hello,
I have MSI Z170A Gaming M Motherboard and 6x MSI AMD RX480 8G GPU.
My Motherboard is supporting only 3 GPU in PCI-E1, PCI-E2, PCI-E5.
PCI-E3, PCI-E4 and PCI-E6 slots is not working so can you suggest any setting for enable PCI-E3, PCI-E4 and PCI-E6 slots.
Use win 8 up!
Was the problem solved... I've the same motherboard and same problem...
Motherboard Gamer Intel Msi Z170a Gaming M5 Lga 1151 ? MINING 9 GPU???????
Hi, why do you recommend for rx 570 4gb and not the 8gb? btw which maker would you also recommend or are they all good? Thank you for your help.
cheaper, i have not done enough research on the different kinds of 570 and what ram them have. most people buy nitros from sapphire. I really like the 570 xfx with removable fans. (the high end xfx 570) as it makes them very easy to clean when they get dusty. Some people also really like the MSI cards. HIS might also be nice. Powercolor could also be nice.
Cryptomined Thank you for your help. Btw, is it true that for zCash 580 are much better than the 570 series?
its faster, you can watch my hashrate video and see the hashrate and watts used in GPUZ
Where did u buy the pci powered connecters from. I bought them off of eBay and they don't work. Well the power the card but no video. But with non powered one it works.
i get them from a local supplier, you can get them at www.cryptomined.com
Evga 1300w can support 7 rx 480?
a cheap cpu will make the work?
Link to the PSU?
You should make more camera videos like this😊 The mic quality for a little bit was a lot better
LOL ok thanks I will try in the future

Cryptomined is it only available in Uk
***** Im not sure, i dont think it is avaiable in the USA yet... i got mine in asia.
It can two Corsair RM1000x PSU supplant the Leadex 2000W PSU?
yes it could for sure would be enough, though im not an expert at linking them together, so thats up to you to figure out the best way to do it.
Hi mate,
could you say what mode (GEN1,2,3) you've set on you BIOS for video?
I have the same mobo, but can not make all cards work together.
I have all set to Gen2, and the configuration is set to 8x4x4x
Primary display adapter is set to PEG
using drivers 16.10.3, windows 10
Having the same board but cannot get the 7th GTX 1070 working. It is recognized under Win10, but shows error 12: not enough resources... BIOS MOD did not help.
ANY IDEA?
hey Where you buy Vga eksternal slot, for mining ?
cryptomined.com
I've seen a lot of these builds but I don't see how it's possible to connect 7 GPUs to all these PSUs. The PSUs only have 6 PCI-E cables. Do you have to buy a splinter or something for one of the six cables so you can hook up 7?
i bought 2 750 w psu's, each have 4 spaces for power to VGA, its called the EVGA 750 GQ or something like that :)
What PSU would you use to replace the 2000W with 2 PSUs?
I would really need to do more research on how best to set it up, i have read and been told different ways to attach GPU's and riser power, but I would get some mix of EVGA G2 PSU.s
with a single rx 480 8gb how much get a day with zcash?
cant you just buy the gpu's and install them to your pc?
i'm starting with a tight budget, would a I3-4130 3.4Ghz CPU work with this build?
also would mining with 2-3 RX 470 4GB GPUs then scale work? i'm basically putting all my funds right now into this, scaling with the profit.
okey, i think i found an answer to my first question in the comments :), i was more like removing a doubt.
a G1840 will work, you dont even need an i3. 2 or 3 470 4g is fine
great, thanks!
is the sapphire nitro rx 480/470 4gb sold out everywhere, i cant seem to find anyone selling them
yup, that's what happens when there's an influx in cryptocurrency popularity haha
Nice vid Cryptomined. Mining porn at its best!!!! I kinda fell behind watching your vids. It seems here lately I spend all my waking hours restarting/watching Genoil's ZEC miners... Cant wait till a stable miner is built. Cheers and thx again!!
would this rig make me better at Minecraft?
hi
i want buy things to mining ethereum what's the best mother bord for maining
thank you
asrock pro btc r2 would b e a good one to get if you can
Man the msi z97 gaming 5 and msi z170a gaming pro carbon are sold out everywhere here...what other 7 gpu able motherboard could I get? :)
Hahah Nice man ! but are you saying that board can take 7 gpu + pcie expension 3 in 1 so 9 gpus???
ideally what two PSU's would you have rather used?
well I am very impressed with the price and quality of EVGA PSUs at the moment.
Cryptomined thank you!!!
Hello, could u recommend me a link for buying those pcie usb risers somewhere un EU,at reasonable price price?
I really appreciate it mate, would be nice if more people like u in the internet willing to help out and be so responsive...ill do that with cryptomined...
robert l
:) thanks, you can shoot me an email through the contact form and I can let you know when its 100% ready for action
what kind of risercards are you using?
in this build I used these ones: cryptomined.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_4&products_id=1
but not i have changed some to these also:
cryptomined.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_215&products_id=199
cryptomined.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_214&products_id=200
Great Job !!!
i have a monitor now i m confused where i connect my monitor first gpu or last gpu or motherboard pls help me .
sorry for bad eng.
the one in the 16x slot is best
Hello Cryptomined! I am trying to build a rig like yours but for some reason my computer just wont show me anything on the screen after installing the 6th card. Do know how to solve this problem?
@Cryptomined
Actually, I just managed to get them all detected but two of them shows me the error code 43, I used the 6gpu mod but that didnt solve the problem for the last GPU
Edit: I just read all of your recommendations! At least I though it was just me having issues with getting 7 cards running. My main problem at the moment is getting rid of the error code 43, I am really running out of ideas here X.X
i was trying to buy a front usb panel with the power switch but failed. Can you tell me where you bought it?
I will might start selling little things like that as I get asked quesitons like where do you get your risers a lot. I bought it in China. do you want one/some?
Yes I would like to have one asap. Email to nicemail1202@yahoo.com for payment information. I am trying to build a rig like yours and if there is anything I might need to buy, please let me know. Thank you
I am waiting for your email. i need it asap.
