"it looks like lady gaga after a stroke" XD oh god that is just too fucking funny >_< i just burst out laughing in the middle of the night waking people up because of that
In addition to adding the number 2000 to make your film "futuristic", make the cities divided in to numbered "sectors" and have a place called "The Zone" where the mutants live.
That's too bad. I don't see what's so hot about MG in this movie. I mean she ain't ugly but she's not "HOT". To me she just looks like some farm girl, and I don't mean a pretty tomboy kind of girl, I mean she looks like the kind of girl that's spent plenty a year doing farm labor. The girl that played Cherry though, now she was smokin! Her facial features were way more attractive (to me anyway) that MG could ever hope for. Personally I have never seen MG as attractive IRL or in the movies. Again, she's not ugly, but she never pitched a tent for me. When I saw this movie I felt bad for Cherry at the end. It seems like they played the annoying aspect of her (being a synth) at the end more so just to make it easier to dump her ass and the audience not have to feel bad about it. I would have kicked Melanie's ass out of the plane and flew off into the sunset with Cherry if it were me.
Cobra Kai-Zer Soze I unfortunately wasn’t born until the 90s but oh do I share your sentiment everything and everyone was so much relaxed and movie directors weren’t afraid to do something different and their movies showed as they have hearts and souls unlike the crap we call movies today plus they didn’t pander to people who don’t even watch their films
This is actually the first episode of Good Bad Flicks that I ever saw and I still remember watching it on The Agony Booth back in 2011 and I IL be forever grateful that I did because not only did it introduce me to you work it's also te reason that I decided to watch Cherry 2000 and Miracle Mile
I like this low budget movie; good plot , fumny at times, and Melanie Griffith was gorgeous back then. Good to know the director has another film I havent seen. Excellent review.
Had so crush on Melanie in this flick when I was a teenager. Still looks fine.. That red hair and that voice! Also cool film. Love post-apocalyptic films.
It is post apocalyptic... that's how most of the world got turned into wasteland, besides Sam (the male lead who wants the Cherry 2000) is a veteran of that nuclear war.
& BTW, if I remember the movie correctly after what, 26 years, Cherry was acting hinky even before her major melt - down / malfunction ( w / resembled a cybernetic grand mal seizure ). Lester's girlfriend / mate / whatever could've been a robot as well, judging from her whackadoo behavior. As long as she stayed away from large amounts of liquid.
6 years now and im so happy to be trying to sludge my way through all of these brilliant reviews. Many a movie night has been made since my discovery of this channel almost a year ago
Fake red heads are hot real gingers are not though im my opinion. To white to many freckles and a bright orange bush just doesnt do it for me. Now fake redheads are hot they can be tanned have cute freckles and any color bush than orange does it for me.
Miracle Mile is amazing. I think it's on TH-cam. If not, find it. Cherry 2000 is one of those movies everyone catches at 3 in the morning on cable. Melanie is right. It improves with age. Good movie in retrospect but at the time it was pretty B.
Great rundown, excellent jokes! Thanks! In 2011 this was an unrealistic dystopian film, and in 2021 it's a realistic utopian film. Good luck everybody!
When he takes Sam to look at suitable replacements for the unavailable Cherry model..... Why oh why didn't he ask for a test drive of the secretary/receptionist looking bot???
This is the BEST movie that nobody ever saw. 3:40 I love the scene with the lawyer at the bar working out the one-night-stand agreement. How #METOO is THAT !!?? And now we know WHY Japan is not having kids anymore. 4:25 - You might point out that this film came out on video at the same time Working Girl, Ms. Giffith's actual hit movie, came out. You are right about Miracle Mile (Yes, I am the only other person who has seen it) and the fact that the women in this film are awful, AND predictors of what you guys have to deal with now. Good job as usual and if you have not done Miracle Mile yet, I suggest it as a double bill with Dead End Drive-In (1986), another great film nobody saw of this era.
I classify this type of movie as "Did the best they could with what they had to work with". I mean, the premise of the Movie, the Plot - itself doesn't have much appeal. And you can tell the budget was fairly low. But the director and writers did a fairly decent job at delivering a Top Notch B-Movie. And at a time when Griffith wasn't quite a Big name yet. Overall, not a great movie by any stretch, the acting is terrible, but somehow this is very enteraining. Not for everybody though...
a lot of old sci fi movies were ahead of their time like this. it's pretty remarkable tbh. "if you stick your tongue down my clients throat i'll sue your ass off!!" lmao. has that demolition man feel of surreality of the 80s that somehow started to become true
That ending line!!! lol I love how you filling in the blanks on all these older films I have seen. I may have to hop on your Patreon so I can request you to do Blood of Heroes.
I'm glad it's not just me about Melanie Griffith. Her cutest days were as a child, sadly. And her best acting...well, attempt at acting...was back then in the "Roar" days as well.
Such a campy classic, I remember seeing it in college. Watching this in 2019. Robot sex dolls have improved some in the last eight years, but we still do not have flying cars. Sorry, past.
ive been watching a bunch of your reviews,. im so surprised to see all these unknown movies that I watched as a kid. I used to love low budget and B movies back in the day. specially action/martial arts B movies. with the likes of Gary Daniels and Cynthia Rothrock, etc.
Just when I thought I had the image burried deep, deep, deep down and almost forgotten, this awesome vid reminded me - Robert Z'Dar in his tiny pants.. Oh boy..
I just put Android Karenina on my wish list at Amazon. Most likely I'll nab it for my Kindle later. I enjoyed Pride and Predjudice and Zombies, so this sounds great. Love these goofy reimaginings of classic literature.
I had a book from the 80s that spoke all about the weird obsession the future would have with "pleasure-bots". I wish I still had the book, it was hilarious because it spoke of people having sex with robots that looked like freaking robots. She had a goofy charm to her but I liked her doppleganger in "Nailn Palin" better lol
Hmm never thought of that. Yeah, it is kind of that PA style. A mix of Mad Max too. The Postman was good, like you said I think people were having a backlash from Waterworld and didn't want another 3 hour Costner movie. I liked both of them.
I liked that film a bunch. As a kid, that Mustang being hoisted into a dam, was awesome! And the red haired chick, a blonde robot, guns... cool!
One of my childhood favorites from HBO. It still has some pretty cool moments that hold up.
"it looks like lady gaga after a stroke" XD oh god that is just too fucking funny
>_< i just burst out laughing in the middle of the night waking people up because of that
iunary heheh forgot about that one thanks :)
In addition to adding the number 2000 to make your film "futuristic", make the cities divided in to numbered "sectors" and have a place called "The Zone" where the mutants live.
The zone - aka ALL Los Angeles beside the rich areas :(
Sadly, Pamela Gidley (Cherry) passed away in 2018.

@@dsandoval9396 Same. I never considered her that much of a looker.
I must have been 15ish when I saw this back in the 80s. Loved it then and still do now. Such a crush I had on Melanie Griffith because of this movie!
God I miss and love the 80s.

Oh wow the AB that takes me back. Kinda sad they just shut down recently, its like the end of an era. Thanks for sticking around! :)
@@GoodBadFlicks I did not know that do you know why The Agony Booth was shut down ?
Said it back when I first saw this film, Ginger was definitely a robot.

haha "no not the bees" from Wicker Man 2006 🤣
I like this low budget movie; good plot , fumny at times, and Melanie Griffith was gorgeous back then. Good to know the director has another film I havent seen. Excellent review.
Miracle Mile is a good movie but you won't feel yourself good after watching it. Watch it when you are in the good mood!
Had so crush on Melanie in this flick when I was a teenager. Still looks fine.. That red hair and that voice!
Also cool film. Love post-apocalyptic films.
this is more like a dystopian future than a post-apocalyptic future
It is post apocalyptic... that's how most of the world got turned into wasteland, besides Sam (the male lead who wants the Cherry 2000) is a veteran of that nuclear war.
@Daniel Appleton WTH? Post apocalyptic, as in post-nuclear war, rather than simply dystopian. Do try and keep up.
Maybe MG daughter will do a post apocalyptic film.
Am I the only one that finds those mini disks adorable? I woudn't mind if they where the future of DVDs and CDs.
It would be terrible. A backstep from what we have now.
I loved this film I was shocked you actually did a video on it !
Melanie Griffith's character E Johnson plays a tough Cyberpunk character in the style of Molly Millions from Neuromancer.
he'd of been better off dreaming about electric sheep
They hinted that Lester's girlfriend might have been a cyborg but they never outright said if she was or wasn't. I think she was.
This movie is fantastic in every way.
"Well then you can just go $#!% in your hat!" 😅😂😂😂🤣
Griffith was pretty good looking in the eighties actually
Yeah, she was NIIICE in *Something Wild* (1986)
@@zetetick395 It was believable that Harrison Ford would pick her over Sigourney Weaver in Working Girl.
@@kennethbryant5819 For looks alone back then yes, but as far as acting goes Sigourney is my fave, she's awesome in every films she's in
Hell yeah she was. Never seen someone fall apart like that.
The ending is cold, I understand Cherry is only a robot, but still.
She can survive there and she is valuable for everybody to save her.
Thanks for watching! :)

It's amazing how much sex dolls have progressed in the 9 years since this video came out
This will be the next big business. First one who make human like sex robots will be a trillionaire.
Holy hell, that Rubber reference took me by surprise. Well done sir.
So cheesy, so 80's, so awesome!
I don't know what it is about your channel that is so entertaining, but it's working. And it's really consistent, even 4 years ago.

The club scene oddly and pretty accurately predicts the near state of dating in the future
