Something I forgot to mention at the start of my video, and thanks to @martinglasgow1219 for reminding me. You should backup (and especially clone/image) your main Windows hard drive before doing this procedure in case something happens during the upgrade process. I am going to make a video about cloning/imaging in the future that covers this, but if you need help in the meantime, please reach out to me via my website, beyourownnerd.com and I will be more than glad to help you through the process.
Thanks for this. Your instructions and explanations are clear and concise. I did the same server method upgrade using a DOS command. I have an old Gen 1 Lenovo Core i5 laptop and Windows 11 runs just as good as Windows 10 did.
Great video. Microsloth seems to think that everyone has lots of money and will on their say rush out and buy a new PV. Imagine if Ford said we're bring out a new gasoline which will only run on new cars so everyone will have to update their car by the end of 2025 or they won't be able to drive anywhere. The regulators would soon step in.
Do you know your processor's model number? You can find this information in the Control Panel and then System or in the device manager under “Processors.” Please reply with the processor model number.
@@BeYourOwnNerd Absolutely 100% correct ...because of this, I purchased approx. 35 New AM4 MB's & Ryzen CPU's over the last 2 - 3years that supports Windows 7. 👍
Are you running Windows 10 or Windows 7? Windows 7 will give you the option of keeping personal files only if you are directly trying to go from Windows 7 to Windows 11. Please let me know what version of Windows you are running so I can help you.

It's strange that you are so sure that there no restrictions or problems and Microsoft just doesn't want to. You say that with a confidence and that is never good as an IT person. There are currently no known limiaations for you, but there might be things that do not run now or in the future. So never do this trick on a production system, only experimental or home devices you do not rely on.
I agree with you. I should have put some more warnings at the start of the video to proceed with caution and to have a good image backup before attempting this upgrade method. At the end of the video, I mentioned that Windows 11 may not work in the future if Microsoft turns off the bypasses, and I also wish I had stated that at the front of the video. I added a pinned comment telling everyone to have a good disk image backup before attempting this, but it's still not as effective as if I had said something at the start of the video. 😔

Yes, I agree. I wish I would have said that first in the video. 😦 I added a pinned comment about this.
How about installing Win 11 on an unsupported Win 7Pro machine?
Still running windows 7 and always will .
Windows 7 was the best.
