    Found the new workaround on Reddit. Perform the following steps before the TH-cam procedure.
    Setup Windows 11 until you get to the Microsoft Account creation screen.
    Press the Windows + R keys to open Run dialog, then type "ms-settings:recovery" (you might need to click around to get the Run Prompt to appear)
    Select Reboot Now on Advanced Startup option. The unit will reboot to recovery mode.
    Navigate to Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart. This gives us access to the advanced options during restart.
    Once the Advanced Options appear, select option 7 - Disable Driver Signature Enforcement. The unit will reboot back into OOBE with the ability to use CMD.
    Follow Instructions from above Video

      There's no undo other than reinstalling. You can create an additional local account, and switch to using that instead, but the originally created account using your Microsoft account will still exist. Shouldn't affect Office, BUT it'll be very easy as part of that to accidentally enable the Microsoft account, since for those tools you need to sign in to those tools using the MS account.

    What gets synced in case of a Microsoft account?
    If one does use a Microsoft account (e g. Hotmail), does it sync properly moving on, meaning all the info like Profile Photo, Account name etc will be in sync between PC and web?
    Also, why do people recommend setting up PC with a local account instead of a Microsoft account?
    I don't think in Windows 10 it's difficult setting up a local account. Why it's different in Windows 11?

    • @askleonotenboom
      @askleonotenboom  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      If you use a Microsoft account things like profile pictures and such get synced. Signing in to Hotmail is separate, unrelated to how you sign in to Windows. Some people don't like the additional intrusiveness of a Microsoft account, or the way Microsoft is pushing it so hard.

    • @NoEgg4u
      @NoEgg4u 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      "I don't think in Windows 10 it's difficult setting up a local account. Why it's different in Windows 11?"
      Correct. But in Windows 11, Microsoft has made it more difficult to circumvent their insistence that everyone use a Microsoft account.
      "Also, why do people recommend setting up PC with a local account instead of a Microsoft account?"
      Many people (myself included) do not want to be at the mercy of a Microsoft server.
      If Microsoft should have a service outage, and you can't get a green light from Microsoft when you are logging in, you could get locked out of your own computer.
      If you have no internet service, perhaps due to an outage in your area, you do not want to get locked out of your own computer.
      Yes, you will still be able to login. But for how long, or for how many times, before Windows deem it that you must get permission from their servers?
      Microsoft will collect even more of your personal data from your computer, when you sign in to a Microsoft account.
      It is none of Microsoft's business (or any stranger's business) when you login to your computer.
      Microsoft appears to be moving to a "You own nothing" business model.
      They push their Office suite, via a rental. Now they are working towards you renting your operating system, where you need their permission to use your own computer that you paid for (you paid for the hardware and for a Windows license, and yet you still need Microsoft's permission to login).
      With a local account, you will never be locked out of the computer and operating system that you paid for; that you own.
      By the way, our host created a local account, which by default, is an administrator account.
      I recommend that you then use that account, to create yet another account; a standard user account, and never use the administrator account again, except for a rare need.
      Using your computer with administrator privileges can cause you to inadvertently mangle your computer, because you will have permission to make egregious mistakes.

      #3. Because Windows has tightened things up to not allow people to get away with these signanigans.
      #2. Nobody ever should recommend that.
      #1. Yes. Once you sign in with your MS Account everything syncs straightaway.

    OK so what to do if we have signed in and want to get out of it! I created a local account, but I created a second sign on and I signed into a University account (using office 365) and now it's on my PC, can I avoid it?

    • @askleonotenboom

      Not sure what you're really asking, but "Sign Out" is an option alongside shutdown and reboot. You can then sign in to whatever account you want that's on your machine.

    • @askleonotenboom

      5GB is a Microsoft Account thing. You can still use a local account on your machine, but create or have a Microsoft account online if you like. You won't be able to sync unless you sign in to OneDrive on your PC using your Microsoft account.
