Loved the colours in the sky and that snow sounded very crunchy/icey. That must have been a real cold pitch up and that wind must have been baltic. I have been in Time lapse mode, photo mode and spent 10 minutes filming in the inside of my Down jackets before with my GoPro, so I know where you are coming from. Oops indeed and spikes are a lifesaver in this weather and that looked just as cold in the morning as it must have been through the night, cheers Alan
Yes, made all those mistakes and more with the GoPro! It was around -3.5 most of the night and according to my Skywatch -10 wind-chill so, yeah, Baltic. IThanks so much for watching and commenting. ATB, Roger
Very nice Roger, I particularly liked watching it sitting in a centrally heated house 😂. I hope you found your missing down boottie. The minute I put anything down in my tent, it immediately goes missing.
Nope, no sign of the bootee - a new pair ordered today! I guess it's floating around Fan Fawr somewhere. I seem to have forgotten half of my tent routines whilst I had the enforced break working on the house - tent was an absolute tip on this one. 😂 Thanks for watching John. ATB
Well, Roger. That made me thouroughly wistful. If we weren't going away I'd be running upstairs & packing the winter tent. Sigh. Lovely night out, really enjoyed it if a bit envious. Did you find your down bootie? 'bye for now! Sue 👍
Nope, the bootee must be flying around the lower reaches of Fan Fawr I guess. Only cheap ones luckily! Have a great trip wherever you're off to. ATB, Roger
It came over really well how much you enjoyed that camp Roger (the beacons looked fine in the snow ❄️) and that curry did look spot on mate 👌🏻 Nice save on the decent 🙏🏼 its always a faf to put spikes on for 10 or 20 yards Did you ever find your bootie?? ATB for 2025 Simon 🤠👍
Great stuff Roger. I like the tent looks strong. I think I might wait for a solid version. That red fuel dispenser is quite heavy. I use two 100 mill small plastic bottles. Much lighter. That said I don’t cook slap- up meals like you.😂I was in the Langdales this week just hiking in deep snow. Atb mate
The cone is pretty efficient at boiling water and I think safe inside the vestibule because no flame gets outside the cone at all. Putting together was a pain but I've found if you weave the two halves together flat first and then make into the cone it's easier to assemble.
I’m 61 and absolutely love my camping and find you very inspiring mate, cooking, setting up and what you use.👍
That's very kind. I don't always cook meals like that but it's fun to try new things. Thanks for watching.

Watching this in my tent, camping in snow just below crybin 🙏🏻
Have a good night!
Nice winter wild camp. Thank you for sharing. Take care 👍
Thanks, it's been quite a while since I camped in snow.

Simon 🤠👍
Hi Simon, no there's no sign of the bootee, must have blown away when I moved the tent! Did enjoy the curry. ATB, Roger

Yes, I agree on the bottles, I'm always worried about not having enough fuel. I think I'm worrying too much. Thanks for watching.
10 years and I've not mastered everything that I should/shouldn't be doing. But looked amazing, cold and freezing but the food looked lovely
Yeah, very cold. This year I'm hoping to up the quality of the filming. Started using two cameras a bit (GoPro and phone).
@@thewanderingforester I've moved my editing to DaVinci now...
That decent didnt look nice in that weather! Stunning spot, pitched there last summer. How are you getting on with the featherlight cone now mate?
