If Tmac could've stayed healthy throughout his whole career, w/o question he would be heavily discussed and debated as one of the top 5 players that's ever played.
nope throughout his 7 healthy all star seasons, he was riddled with playoff failure, the seasons he had with the rockets, they were in true contention but he failed to rise up to the occasion. He was a all time talent, but without a true clutch factor in the playoffs he was probably meant to be a super second option. I love T-Mac just as much as anyone, but there's a reason why the Rockets played better once the offense put more of an emphasis on Yao Ming.
@@Ckim27 true, but if you actually took the time to watch his playoff games at critical moments like the fourth quarter he consistently shrunk under the big moment. Yeah he did well for some totalities of the game, but he would have some TERRIBLE fourth quarter performances.(Ex: BASICALLY ALL OF THE 2007 PLAYOFFS WHEN HE HAD HIS BEST CHANCE, Game 7 2005 vs Dallas, Game 7 2003 vs Detroit (kinda give him a pass for this since his team was garbage, but he still struggled regardless), game 4 and game 3 2008 vs UTAH AGAIN LMAO) At the end of the day he did have a fair shot to make it to the second round, albeit only 3 times debatable 4, but these performances and MANY more separate him from Tracy McGrady to Lebron James. They are both the same talent wise but without a true clutch factor McGrady unfortunately underachieved, and displayed how he was better off as the best second option of all time, as he said himself regarding him and Grant Hill.
@@caqaf73 The rockets losing wasn't T mac fault. The rockets had nothing on their bench. T mac hit two fourth quarter game winners on Dallas. Rockets got up 2-0 but couldn't finish. Dallas was a deeper team, and won that series from having a better bench. Jason Terry was coming in off the bench dropping 20 or 25. If not more some nights.
@@javiersanchez1661 You have to hold all contending teams to the same standard. Don't be biased because Dallas happened to be the more successful team with better longevity. Yeah, I agree Houston was VERY SLIGHTLY less deep. But what people like you like to just brush aside arguably the most important side of basketball. DEFENSE. In 2005, the rockets were the 5th ranked defense. Now I love T-Mac again, BUT he was never in any world a phenomenal defender by any means. Yao was decent but not consistently great. The entirety of the roster besides these two were extremely solid defenders. You got a slightly washed Mutumbo, Bob Sura, David Wesley, etc. The cherry on top disproves your claim that the rockets were seen as the "worse team" entering the series: they had the 5th best net rating in the league that year. For comparison, the Denver Nuggets last year had the 11th best net rating and made the western conference finals. I'm not going to try to convince you that t-mac choked in the series, I already listed ALL the games he did above. *cough*cough*game 7 Mavs rockets* cough*.
If tmac stayed healthy he wld be in discussion with mj Kobe n Lebron for best ever.. talent wise he was jus as good as all of them only knock on tmac was he ain’t have a killer instinct..IMO
t mac has much better talent than all of the players you mentioned. He is taller, longer reach, way more athletic. Kobe said that t mac is better than him talent wise and that was why he has to work harder on skill. Only knock on tmac was he didnt work as hard as other players because his talent is outstanding. and his injury really hurted his career. Tmac no douht would be the best player if he carry the same work ethic and embition as kobe. He could easily surpass kobe.
Great video. TMac’s trunk/waist and back were his weakest points. Just imagine if he had KB’s waist or even MJ’s back, oh man NBA’s history would have been rewritten.
@Alec Winter In 2003-04 when he led the league in scoring for the second time, the Magic did not make the playoffs. In fact, they were the worst team in the entire league with T-Mac still on the roster that year
@@issajoke2437 uhhh obviously to prove him wrong... He said T-Mac led the magic to the playoffs the years he won the scoring title. That statement is incorrect.
Lebron is still playing! Kobe and Tmac are done. Lebron has had sustained excellence from day one that he has stepped on the court. Let him finish then we can have this conversation
LJ he certainly smoking crack pipe if he think he's not top 50 if a MF got ray Allen in there top 20 tmac certain is well over ray Allen. So he smoking crack
As far as individual ability, talent, statistics without using intangibles then he’s probably a top 15 player. He had a 7/8 year run in this league when he was a top 5 player and at times the best in the nba.
I was reading an article the other day and it was talking about McGrady and his statistics. Apparantely if he had just maintained his numbers after 07-08, we would talk about him in a different tone. You look at the change of pace in todays league. TMacs numbers in 03 where like the equivalent of averaging 40 ppg today. Taken time/adv stats into consideration.
Thomas Brown ray allen just cracks the top 50 i put mcgrady in the the top 60 with his cousin in his best years he was as a dynaminc scorer as they come and a top 15 dunker ever
13 in 35. Best comeback victory in history
Indeed it was
My favourite NBA player! Most talented guy!He was playing basketball as playing piano

mcgrady is a beast
Angel" sounds better!Beautiful Move Maker
T-mac is the goat 🐐
Tmac the game came very easy to him. Silky smooth! Smooth operator!
my favorite player growing up....good times, what an animal.
All time greats...all around one man team multiple threaths and a one man wrecking crew... T-mac the man!!!
Omg all the layups he made he made it looked so easy what a player what a talent what an athlete!
Man if only Tmac never bulked up and stayed slim like his Orlando days... His career would definitely be longer
I love T-Mac.. What i just realized after watching this video, is that he always landed like a rock!
One of the greatest street ballers in the NBA and could have been better if he didn't get injured
Should have included his behind the back jumper on Shaun Livingston
He was such a natural

"we haven't seen tmac do this all season!"
*random noise in background*
"WAAAAH"
My favorite player of all time. My role model. Got to call myself T Mac. He carried a smile all the way, dude with a great Sense of humor
Baddest basketball player i ever seen mac man
He has one 2 handed dunk over 2 people I think it was against Toronto when he was on the magic . He flexes immediately after the dunk .
How about the ankle-breaker against kobe? Which Tmac faked a turn-around goin to his left but took the shot goin to his right. That was a sick move!
Kobe stepped on shaqs foot, he didn’t get juked. He stepped on shaqs foot and shaq stepped away so he dragged his foot
Wow its crazy. I forgot he played for the knicks.
One of the greatest guards to ever lace them up
Love it.
Crazy McGrady..
T-Mac to the rack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where his ankle break againts Kobe?
@Igbo Thunder kobe lost balence and allmost fell *ankle breaker*
@Igbo Thunder that was an ankle breaker. Just because it's not off a crossover doesn't mean it's no considered an ankle breaker

Wait am I blind? Cause I didn’t see his dunk on Shawn Bradley here nor his dunk on Okur...
So the number 29 is one of the top dunks in NBA history! Why is it so far down the list?!?
T.Mac good!

Where's the Katrina game with him and Agent zero
tmac to the rack!
I had to stop thr video at 2:36..
They showed that layup about three times.

Love Tmac forever!
TMac and Kobe were my favor nba players.
