    Man the good old days.
    Steve Francis was once my favorite player. Too shame his career was destroyed by injury and drugs.

    It's cool to see so many here showing Stevie Franchise some love. He declined way too soon and was definitely one of the most exciting players at the time. The combination of his vertical and handles were crazy. I grew up with A.I., Kobe and MJ but I remember liking Stevie a lot and even began liking Reebok again because of him. His signatures weren't bad at the time.
    Prime T-Mac. Nothing more to say. Injuries are a bitch😡

    • @klevdud
      @klevdud 6 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Javone Goodman thing also with tmac is. If you watch those games in 04 nobody on his team could play defense it was fucking horrendus. He has a game where he drops 51 on the nuggets, on like 60% shooting hitting 5 threes in the last 3 min of the game. And losing. Because they cant play defencd

    • @danielgalea
      @danielgalea 6 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      Kerr doesn't understand what it's like to be a superstar and nobody else on the squad can do anything to help on offence or defence. He doesn't understand the mental frustration Mcgrady spoke about and was never in the situation..so I'm not sure how he could judge so harshly.
      Mcgrady was a superstar, not just an all-star. To say otherwise is rediculous.
      Talking about Kobe would never quit, Kobe played with Shaq and never had to suffer like Mcgrady did. And when he did get a bum squad..he did exactly like Mcgrady did, ask for a trade.

    • @vaudou_
      @vaudou_ 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Javone Goodman Also what's hilarious about this is that he completely ignored the fact that the Magic front office traded away everyone that was good on his team after the previous playoff year. Look at the youth they had along with their production and you'll see they were traded the very next season. That's on top of Doc Rivers having no gameplan whatsoever other than ride Tmac.

    It's crazy that with both players....as soon as the trade happened, Steve just fell out of love for the game it seems and just got bad...like terrible. He loved Houston, I think it was something about leaving Houston that messed him up as a player.
    For McGrady, as soon as he got trade to Houston, he was injury prone right off the bat. Couldn't stay on the court to save him or his teams life. His back problems were the ice pick in his back, no pun intended, that never let him be great...a true great with rings. The fact that he never got passed the 1st round of the playoffs being as great as he was....just wow
    Both players just had tremendously bad luck after they were traded for each other.

    • @AzimJivani
      @AzimJivani 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      T-Mac was wack af on the Rockets. He had such a good team surrounding him but he continuously was sorry. That's why he got dunked on by Francis at the end. No great player would let another man dunk on him even if the game is already won. That was the stupidest trade ever.

    4:43 that's gotta be one of the dumbest remarks I've ever heard. Did he said that McGrady wasn't a superstar in 2004?! It's funny that he mentioned Kobe with all those name when in fact he couldn't lead a team with Butler and Odom on his side to the playoffs...and a year later, he gave up in the playoffs against an Amare-less Suns. FOH!

      steve kerr went on to mention larry and magic, both players who had SUPER teams. Put any one of those guys on the team tmac was on during their 20-win season and see if they lead them any better. Anyone can play "with fire" but if you dont have a good team behind it, you're just a passionate guy who loses the same. Not to mention, tmac wasted several of his prime years in succession on teams like that Orlando team before the trade. Kobe would have demanded a trade if every year the GM accumulated less and less talent and it culminated in a 20-win team.

    • @tmc14121
      @tmc14121 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Keyboard Legend i agree tmac isnt kobe calibur. but it wasnt right for kerr to state something like that at the time, esp tmac coming coming off a 32 6, 6 season. i mean you cant just throw that away, you just cant. Now that its all said and done, yes tmac did not have a superstar career like kobe but early 2000s tmac and kobe were going head to head. kerr never liked mcgrady for some reason, every tmac game he broadcast he would always criticize.

    • @tmc14121
      @tmc14121 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Keyboard Legend but your definitely right, tmac no where near had the career kobe had. people tend to blow that out of proportion! talent wise hes up there but kobes legacy is something else and obviously jordan. tmac is my fav player however because of style of play. he was so damn smooth

    I’m one of the biggest TMac fans ever, and I know he didn’t have teams like Kobe or MJ, heck even Wade and Bron, but what Kerr said was right. He didn’t have the killer mentality and wasn’t that hungry to be better and ask more of his teammates. Why everyone mad at Kerr? It’s a compliment for Kerr to even put T Mac in the same sentence with MJ, cause Kerr is no dummy, he sees the raw potential Mac had. He had all the tools, except the injury bug on his back couldn’t leave him alone, and Orlando management couldn’t build a right team around him.

    • @rplayer360
      @rplayer360 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      And and I'm a Vince Carter fan... When LeBron had to do it he couldn't do it so he teamed up with Wade when Wade had to do it that one year he couldn't do it so he got LeBron.... T-Mac and Vince Carter did it for years never got help except that one year where T-Mac got arrest but the injury bug got him.... Vince Carter got it with Jason Kidd and Richard Jefferson.... Both were recovering from injuries while Vince Carter was at his peak.... It's just the luck of the draw it is what it is but let's not act like if Michael Jordan.... Didn't have legendary coach and great role players which were great players in other teams before joining MJ... And Kobe never did it without the same coach as Jordan
      .... LeBron didn't do it with slacker of coaches either.... But tell me what great system that T-Mac or Vince Carter ever played in where it wasn't simply give them the ball and get out the way....

    4:33 Steve Kerr had the nerve to call T-Mac an allstar instead of a superstar? Did he forget that Kobe had Shaq during the early 2000s. And when Shaq left to go to the Heat Kobe was contemplating on leaving the Lakers for Boston. Even Kobes and Shaq last season together they had Karl Malone, Gary Payton and Derek Fisher. Magic literally had nobody besides Grant Hill and he was injured most of the time. T-Mac could do nothing with that team.

    I remember as a kid my dad told me the Magic tried to make T-Mac the face of their organization and he didn’t want it. And I’m seeing this snippet they have of him saying that too much was on his shoulders when they were losing.... It rings true. He never should’ve left Toronto in the first place, then he left Orlando right before they got Dwight Howard too..... Hall of fame talent, but he never elevated the play of those around him.

      Nate Nah man. You mad wrong for comparing those two teams. Please please bring out the statistics where LeBrons and T-Macs teams are even remotely close to producing the same numbers. T-Mac in 03 had 1 person other than himself average double digits (14 to be exact) in the playoffs. He was a damn rookie at that. People need to realize, T-Mac was literally a 1 man wrecking crew carrying sorry ass teams to 7 games against stacked teams bruh he was always going up against big 3s. He was the big1 and only for the Magic.
