I totally second this! It does cost to rent one unless you decide to invest in one, which would be the better choice if you plan on doing alot of pressure washing in the future :) You probably could have done the whole boat in 1-2 hours even. Seriously. I had the pleasure of using a 4000 PSI steam pressure washer for one of the jobs I did at my work. It would take off old gum that was stuck and dried unto concrete within 2 seconds of pointing the nozzle at it! And I wasn't even using the highest power tip!!
Actually I am nervous of power washers on boats as they can permanently damage fittings, trim etc. If you are going use one, best use an under powered one.
@@stephenburnage7687 I think you should just give it a chance , while I agree, don't power wash the teak or the cushions etc (unless you really know what you are doing) But the fiberglass and metal parts will be perfectly fine. get on in the 2600-3100 psi range and you will save yourselves weeks of work. If you are worried that you will lose your drone in the ocean when you start sailing, put pool noodles on the horizontal landing bar. On both sides. This will make it float to give you time to get to it.
Pool noodles will help recover the drone, but won't likely save the drone. Salt water is notoriously bad for electronics, unfortunately. Luckily the Phantoms are pretty 'easy' to catch, not like the Mavic series!

Can I suggest you take off all the running rigging (ropes) and get them to a commercial laundry and have them put through a cold water wash. You will be amazed how they come back.
Those screws you should use a penetrating oil with catalyst, like PB Blaster. Then remove the screws by twisting a hand impact driver and hammer. You will need these tools for the rest of the stuck screws.
WD-40 is a Water Displacer only. It is not a lubricant, and it is not a penetrating oil. The PB Blaster is a very good product. Stainless steel fasteners gall easily, try not to over tighten them. Use a little blue Loc-tite when putting it all back together and then tighten normally, but not over tight. Practice tightening different diameter fasteners until you can feel the threads starting to deform. Then you will know how much to tighten without galling and weakening the fastener. Do not use red Loc-tite except on permanent assemblies that you can use a propane torch to heat to about 300 Deg F and break the chemical bond.
Odd Life Crafting another way is to take a solid metal bit and give it some really good hits with a hammer while it is on the screw. It tends to loosen the corrosion up and sometimes you won’t even need a penetrating oil. They’ll just come out. Best regards

@Juha Tuomala The industrial Kärchers can take off parts from cars, like mirrors, fueltank covers, even can cut into softer metals, plastic, any time. I had to use a few for a 4 years. As i was watching them i had the feeling, they havent turned it on, since i could hear the water only, but not the motor building up the pressure.
@@OddLifeCrafting Something I learnt from an old mechanic a long time ago that is useful. Maybe you know. Always tap a corroded bolt or screw a bit first before trying to loosen. Not too hard though. And of course, as you did, spray some WD40, let it stand, and tap a bit more. Last Monday my son's front lights on his car got damaged and I had to replace them. The car is 16 years old and the last 4 years it was standing outside so all the screws were corroded. What a nightmare! but I used that method and manged to get everything out without breaking anything (I was dreading having to drill them out). I put new screws back when I remounted, so good for another 16 years. Oh I almost forgot. A small ratchet wrench with an adapter and screwdriver heads is also very useful for applying a lot of pressure to corroded screws.
@@OddLifeCrafting that is what a left handed drill bit does. it turns the opposite direction of a normal drill bit and makes it easier to remove screws and bolts. there is also a device that has a screw bit in it that you hit with a hammer to break the screwes loose. look it up i am sure there is a video of someone using it. and there are proably other ways also.

Looks a lot better after shedding 20 years of crud buildup. I hope you took lots of pictures of the rigging before dismantling it. That will help a lot when you go to put it all back together after the new paint job. Your going to have a fortune in just cost of line replacement. It's good to see that she was setup for handling all lines from the cockpit. That will be a lot safer in heavy weather sailing. As your going through the boat, it looks to me that you have bought a really good boat for a great price. Even the topcoat on the hull and deck looks to be in great condition, left sitting uncared for after 20 years. I would replace all those SS track bolts with hex socket head bolts instead of slotted machine bolts. I'm amazed that all of them were not frozen tight.
Indeed, the paint was still good. We’re gonna check all the rigs and we might change it. Our friend that works with it is gonna help us to review all the system

Mannn,
I wish you guys the best🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thanks a lot, Dan
Thank you for your videos! I'm having a really great time watching the progress! Greetings from the USA and keep up the great work!!
☺️😍⛵️
Hi, you really need a steam pressure machine, with biodegradable quimical remover foam, sprayed all around the boat.
They are sanding it already. There is no need for a deep cleaning. Thanks for the tip
Having owned and sailed a Morgan 50, your work reminds me of so much pain! But you are both so adorable and happy. Your hard work will result in much joy and appreciation for your vessel. Love your vids!
👫💪💕
Thank you for doing this in English. It can’t be easy to do the editing when you are not using your native language.
💕💕 the hard part is to find some words that we don’t know in English. Hehe
Great job guys 👍👍 you are really good people and I wish you good luck in this adventure!! I love the boat 👍👍👍
💕💕🍀
Odd Life Crafting very pretty lady to!! ❤️❤️🌹🌹 you’re a lucky guy 👍👍👍😘😍
Just found your channel and loving it. Subbed. That boat is gonna be beautiful when she's done.
Welcome to our channel! ⛵️💕
Now you have 2 Great Gems in your life. Hold on to both of them and live life to the fullest.
😊
Did you try a hammered impact driver on those screws? That should have been able to undo them.
We tried and we actually broke the i pact drive. Just didn’t get it on video unfortunately. 😅
@@OddLifeCrafting wow, that is amazing! Never seen that before 😮
That’s what I was thinking, penetrating oil, heat, oil, heat, oil heat then impact driver.
@@OddLifeCrafting you need a better impact driver.
@@davidsandberg7631 tbh I have always used a cheap $10 impact driver and have never broken one ever. The screws break before the driver. Perhaps they were using a cordless electric one not a manual beat it with a hammer type?
Brilliant. Nice video guys. Looks like a great project that will take you to amazing adventures.
💕💕⛵️🌎
I don't know but that previous owner of this sail boat should have given it to you guy's free...for all the work and cost you have already and going to encounter...Best of Luck !
It was worth for all the material that came with the boat 😍⛵️
Yes please post all your expenditures and man hours spent working
you guys are great and such hard workers. i love you guys and will be watching you. god bless mark
💕💕
One recommendation, next time treat it first with some kind of degreaser like Simple Green.
👍🏻 thanks for the tip. We hope we don’t have a next time. Hehe
Odd Life Crafting I under that completely. I use simple green on my boats, it helps with all types of cleaning with it.
If you just spray down with water and let the dust and mold rehydrate THEN power wash no cleaners/chemicals needed 👍 Nice boat!
You two are moving right along with this project. Happy Couple = Happy Boat! :)
😁👫😄⛵️
You guys are having a red hot go good on ya greetings from Australia love your posts

6:30 Owwww, I hope you tried a manual impact driver before resorting to drilling?
Hello from California, nice job cleaning the boats interior ,you have a long way to go but you kids can get it done👍 good luck

its monday again! thanks for the new video guys! :)
Yeah, Monday! 🤗
your not suppose to have the bottle on the pressure washer unless your using soap, it is way more powerfull without the bottle...
👍🏻
I love seeing your channel grow, what an exciting time for you guys!
Thanks for the support, Megan 💕
God she’s beautiful, the boat is nice to
Wow, the boat is like new under all the dirt , its going to look amazing with all your hard work !! Brilliant !
😂😂😍⛵️
Impact screwdriver to get those stuck screws out.
We actually tried it and it didn’t work
@@OddLifeCrafting based on how you use power tools I dont think you even know what an impact screw driver is. I';m not trying to be rude but you appear to have zero experience with any form of tools.
Sorry but you are being rude. We do know what an impact driver is and we actually own one. No we don’t have lots of experience but we never said we had. This channel is all about us learning as we go. And to be honest after almost two years building thing we have learned a lot. Every one that stoped by the boat in the marina said the same thing. Oh this is easy to get out. And them we asked them to take one screw off to show us. As a result no one could take any of the screws off. Not even with the impact driver. I guess 22 years is a long time. By the way if you want to see how much we learned I encourage you to go back an watch the series from they one when we started building a tiny Shipping container house from scratch. 😉
I love what you guys are doing is beautiful
💕💕
Wie so oft die Frage: "Was kostet der ganze Spaß ?"
so viel spaß
Fantastic! She's going to be more beautiful. You guys should be very proud of what you are doing.
