Also PG didn't mind being traded if he got his money. It was one or the other.
The point is that if you watched the Dallas series you realize that he’s not worth the money or the guarantees on his contract. The NBA has become a shit show because mediocre players are demanding enormous salaries which handcuff teams and keep them from being able to fill out their roster. You have every right to ask for anything you want in your contract and if someone’s stupid enough to give it to you then you’ve earned it, but it’s no different than spending a third of your salary cap on one player and spreading it out over 15 years. Sure the team can offer it, and the guy can accept it, but that doesn’t make it any less stupid or damaging to the integrity of the league.
