    Awesome to see that you get a very nice finish on the hood. The fast clears really help to speed up things at the workshop. Nice to see that you get a nice finish even though you did all the sanding in the workshop and using back the plastic film from primer all the way to clear. Keep up the good work 😊

    What’s up Chris!
    You primed and paint the same day?
    I always thought you had to give the primer at least a day before sanding.
    End result was real nice man.

    • @GarageNoise
      @GarageNoise  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well Ideally yes but I reduced the primer and it was a hot day. You do risk die back in you clear. Follow the recommendations for the primer you use. The TDS will let you know.

    Very nice can you sand 600 old paint and paint new base coat without the primer then clear coat is possible?

    • @GarageNoise
      @GarageNoise  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, as long as the clear your sanding is in good shape. If the clear is failing due to sun damage then it would be best to sand then seal or primer before applying paint.

    • @GarageNoise
      @GarageNoise  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Only is you notice dust on the panel. It's ok to do but if it's clean just tack off right before your first coat of clear. Thank's for watching and supporting the channel!

    Very informative tutorial! I had my hood and front bumper painted last year(Ford black ,Code AU)The guy did a great job, but I can see more blue in the new paint?? I spoke to him and he showed me the code that he mixed. He didn’t blend the front fenders. I went to a paint distributor and he said it was probably because painter didn’t use the best quality paint. I’m just curious to hear your opinion.

    • @GarageNoise
      @GarageNoise  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've had good quality paint that the color was off and cheaper paint that matched perfect. I've come to the conclusion that it has more to do with the paint color than anything else. I know if I don't blend the color will most likely be off a bit or alot in some cases. Appreciate the support brother!

    Great job on your hood. Very fast work.
    Most hardeners or activators show 6-8 hours dry time for this clear in order to Sand and buff. If different activators cause a different dry time why didn’t you mention that?
    I don’t think you mentioned what hardener you used. Also Amazon listing for this says it doesn’t come with a hardener. Have to buy that separately. So question is what did you use that you can wet sand in 30 minutes? Or did you actually do anything to it after 30 minutes.
    Also while on the subject nothing was mentioned about how long this will last. Before turning yellow or peeling or fading. Most quick drying hardeners I’ve heard do not hold up over time so durability goes out the window. Got any info on this?

    • @GarageNoise
      @GarageNoise  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hard to mention everything but your right that different activators have varying cut an buff times. I didn't cut and buff this at all.
      So durability for quick dry clear is not typically an issue. The problem some times is (because it drys quick ) die back or loss of the gloss after it fully cures. If at all possible a clear that cures in 2-3 hours won't have the die back that a 30 min clear will. Good questions, appreciate the support brother!
