I never knew drywall comes in a purple cover. The room is shaping up real well. You are so entertaining, LOL.
I think its for moist areas. If I am not mistaken.
Kristin is right -- it's mold and mildew resistant. Normally you will only see it used in wet rooms like bathrooms, but we choose to use it anywhere. It's not but a few dollars more per sheet and money well spent in our opinion. Especially with how easily mold or mildew will grow. :)

yes most all bathrms an I use it in kitchens alot I'm a painter by trade so drywall I do alot of repair with that purple my sure you use a really gd primer first then paint it the color you want I have my primer tinted to the color I'm going to use as a bonus. keep them videos comein guy love them

Use to ....or possibly still depending on manufacturer MR drywall was green . This particular purple mr drywall is sold by Lowe’s and probably others

I love that tool that Angela showed! * I dont have one argggg * I have been doing drywall for years and that would have made my life so much easier! For those out there that dont have that tool.. outline your box with lipstick.. push the board up where it belongs.. when you bring the board back down.. the perfect outline of the box will show! Just a small tip :)

That is awesome! We are both so happy to hear that we're helpful in some way. :) And absolutely no worries with kiddos hearing our content. We whole heartedly agree that such things are difficult to find nowadays. Even the "kids" version of TH-cam has questionable content to where our kids just don't get to watch things on it.

When I was building homes I actually used a sound proofing insulation on bathroom walls to deaden sounds ....it wasn’t necessary but just a little extra sound proofing

I have bought many tools in my life. Very few of them got me really excited to have them. I like them but no great tingle. However, When I bought my battery powered Brad Nailer I went looking for things to shoot. Still gets me excited five years later. But that outlet finder (forgot the name) will be the first thing I buy if I ever do dry wall work. It will relieve so much frustration.

I like to insulate interior walls for purposes of soubd deadening. It's a minimal cost with huge benefits, especially in bathrooms and kids' bedrooms. If I have exposed stud bays, they get insulation before the drywall is installed. It makes a huge difference.

Good job , all boarded out , now for the next step jointing tape and skim . Or mudding as you say in the US . In GB after jointing , we do a full skim over every wall then polish all imperfections out with the trowel as we go . More laboured but a real nice even smooth wall . Did it many times in my other homes and for family . Loved to see the change from old to new . . Ripped the whole old place out , then renew the lot . Very satisfying end result , in the knowledge that you have transformed the place with your own hands . Keep up the excellent work and content guys 👍👍👍 .

We decided to replace our mobile home patio ceiling with the pink insulation panels. Mr. Man asked if it would be ok to leave them pink? I declined that offer and painted them with two coats of white acrylic Kilz. That pink looks like Pepto Bismol. 😁
When you do drywall most guys start from the top. That way your top sheet supports your ceiling sheets. You are supposed to leave 1/2" gap under bottom sheet. This is a safe guard against water reaching your drywall. Also , you stagger your sheets. You should have put a half sheet up after starting with a full sheet.

That was one of the most enjoyable time out's I ever had, playpen or not. I had just sat down to enjoy my cup of chocolate/raspberry coffee only to find the notification bell ringing, you posted the latest video! I live in NJ and never see purple drywall here. The boys must be anxious to get back into their room and I'm just as anxious to see the final results, regardless of that, I am sure the results will be awesome! Great job Sam and Angela!

Btw I bought that gizmo you guys have, can't wait until we get to the drywall stage of our remodel to try it out. I wish I could share pictures of our mobile home remodel with you. I'm sure you could give us some pointers. We need to learn how to do pex plumbing, have only done copper. How do you make those complicated cuts look so easy. You must be good at math. It's really nice to have walls again I'm sure. The boys would probably like a light baby blue for their walls. It won't be long and it will be done.
To save time & make less sanding use a damp rag to clean up as you are mudding. It will help to wipe off the small bit that seem to take more time to sand.

Last summer on fam’s trailer I redid wood flooring due to tub leak into bedroom. While at it I used wainscoting panels glued and nailed for the walls as nothing was wrong with walls. Just didn’t want to bother with that gypsum board, primer, paint. Wainscot panels was a nice upgrade! Should’ve watched yours and others on floor molding tho as them miters were a beast and confusing!

Fyi, on those window seams that broke. If you use mesh tape under your mud and then use paper tape on the top it shouldn't crack. The Vancouver Carpenter (look him up on TH-cam) has a great tip of using a watered down Elmer's glue in your mud that makes it hold really strong.
Great work for someone that is not a pro. I am with Angela, I think I would do good at mudding and taping.
