every country I travel to, I collect a traditional pocket knife from. I was just in portugal a month ago - and realized, I had forgotten to pick one up! great series, information that needs to be preserved imo. love it, thx
Look up the New Zealand Svord folding knife. It's a small knife copied from ~1500s German/Italian large folding grip-"locking" knives. It's clever but some handle ergonomics are off (the blade lever is ok, just the rest of the handle). Others: Mercator Black Cat locking, Higo No Kami with a small grip locking feature (creates image of mt fuji when partly open, dual steel blade forging, I like it better than the dukduk knife story), Barlow pattern from the 1600s (my father bought several Kmart $2.50 barlows over the years when I was growing up on the farm that got abused under hard use and only replaced after the second blade broke).
Awesome Series🤟

My next video is on higonokami, I think it airs tonite at midnight. I have a svord in the works now. Totally agree on the dukduk, thanks!
Joker knife also makes knife like that
I’ll check those out, thanks for watching!
Hello, that knife isn't a MAM, all portuguese knives of that style have a full blade and don't have a ricasso
Thank you, yes I know, I cannot make a MAM knife. I do not live anywhere near Portugal and I don’t work at the MAM factory! 😉
