One World 2012 - Gumboot

The Pearson College One World performance has long been an instrument and illustration of the UWC mission to use education as a force to unite peoples and cultures for peace and a sustainable future. Born as a means of communication in the dark mines of South Africa, Gumboot embodies the spirit of resistance that lived in the hearts of its original performers. Since being brought to
Pearson College, it has grown and evolved to become a deep-rooted tradition in the minds of students and faculty alike. This year's performance tells a story of not just resistance, but of cooperation in the face of oppression.
