This game is unfinished. I won’t insult it or its developers because they tried and wanted to make a true boxing simulator. To start, the game doesn't punish the system of spamming power punches. The opponent just runs around and spams power punches, and no matter how well you play, you will lose by the end. Secondly, there’s no penalty for missing punches. The opponent can swing for 8 rounds straight without losing stamina or movement speed. Thirdly, when the opponent realizes they’re losing, they just quit the game, and it shows up as a connection error for you. They don’t get a loss, and you don’t get a win. That’s why you see players with a record of 156-3... This game has potential, but many things need to be fixed.
To me I think they nailed it. This is a great boxing Sim. It does have some flaws such as cheating (with endless stamina with power punches) most of the gripes that I have with this game is the online play which I don't really care that much about. As far as a single player and as far as managing your punches and stamina, it's all there. The career mode is lacking as well. But the animations stances fighting styles punching styles they're all there. When you mix up well timed counter punches and power punches, you can deplete your opponent's energy and stamina.

You can make a sidestep while holding block, and your opponent will just throw a hook, and that will be enough for you to fall, even though you did everything right! The timing and the move were correct, but it won’t work. Unfortunately. Want to be at the top? - Spam power punches like a dumb ram
Still won't play again till power punches, blocking and stamina are fixed. Biggest disappointment in years. I'm willing to overlook some stuff but not when it comes to core boxing.
@@bonesjackson81 I've had fantastic realistic games with the CPU. I just dodge all the punches especially the power ones. The CPU opponents tire out, when they do I use power shots when the cpu controlled opponent can't move out of the way of the power shots
The fact that they released the game at full price in this state and basically told everyone that they'll update the game "sometime" in the next 3-15 months is insulting. Some of these issues shouldn't take that long.
@@RTOSKIPG power punches are broken, stamina system is broken, punch distance/tracking is broken resulting in tons of phantom punches, career mode is bare bones, online fights are too short, people are getting stun locked by one punch and then not allowed to block or move at all, footwork is wonky, the camera angle people like the best results in the cameramen/corner men blocking your view of the ring at times and THERE'S NO CLINCH SYSTEM. For the love of God raise your standards man. This game needs a ton of work.
I give this undisputed developer some leeway, they’re a small team. The issues aren’t that big, and it’s fun to play imo. And they charge 60 not the full 70. Madden got a huge team and have billions of dollars behind it, no excuses for them to have something so broken year after year.

They've have been ignoring feedback like it was Greek during early access. I emailed their 'support team' over 50 times during that time. They claim its a 'SIM', but in reality with the power 'SPAM' recovery time is just a FN meme of boxing, its pure 'ARCADE'. Infinite leg stamina (provided you look after your tank), which can turn the game into the Benny Hill show at times. Basic ducking doesn't work like every other boxing game. No longer can you avoid head hooks by leaning below. The ability to punch behind the guard from an impossible distance is just comical. Still no basic clinch mechanic, still no ref the ring, camera view that is trailing behind the action (that doesn't show the correct distance between fighters as its not perpendicular to the action), knockdown animations are basic AF... Just a couple of issues LMAO... Fight Night Round 3 is better than this...

You might not know this, but they can’t put boxers in the game until that boxer signs the contract. A lot of boxers don’t sign the contract cause they either want more money or other weird stipulations surrounding their character. You can’t knock them for the roster, they’re limited to obscure agreements with the boxers themselves.
Yes, the game is way better than this guy gives it credit for. Sure it needs some work, but in my opinion it's a great, fun, realistic, simulation of a boxing game. Sure it's no where near as good as Fight Night Champion which is the best boxing game ever made but it's not bad at all. It's the only boxing game we've received since 2011 and I'm grateful we got it because this has been something I've wanted for years. I think people need to appreciate the game and Steel City for even attempting to make a boxing game when no one else would. I love the game. I give it a 9/10. Power punches are totally broken. There is about 3 lines of commentary, the same get up animation each time and the servers suck. It was a great attempt but it honestly feels like an alpha build

I’m happy we got a boxing game and appreciate the developers putting this out but I’ll have to put the game on hold until some gameplay elements get fixed. All fights feel the same to me. Blocking is not my favorite, stamina, dodge, and just the overall fluidity needs a face lift. Worth holding on until the updates improve the overall experience
After playing this, it’s nice but isn’t as defined as the EAs fight night Champion - no ref in the ring, shocking customisation, fighter still throw punches after the bell!? And the biggest one for me is like even when you have a clean hit you just don’t get that satisfaction like you do on the old Fight Night. EA just do it better in my opinion..
BTW SGO, look up Overhand Interactive’s in development game. I think it might be Muy Thai, but there is a recent video of the boxing gameplay and it DESTROYS the boxing in this game.
I love the game. I’m a former professional boxers and they give me almost all the tools I need to do what I need to do. The clenching is missing inside fighting but I’m happy with where is at right now.

It's not a great game. Fight night 4 and champion are much better. No big names, controls are sluggish, not much content. It's an empty shell of a boxing game.

So let's start here,... Intro's for boxers, terrible. No robes on the boxers, all intros are the exact same. Commentors, very, very repetitive (as do all sport games become after awhile),but full. The knockdowns, whenever a boxer gets knock'd down, why doesn't the boxer remain where and how he fell, how do they get in the middle of the ring either face down or face up.. The corner, what's the point of the corner?. Can't work on damage to the boxer, the corner does no work to or for the boxer.. The reffere, where is he when the fight is happen'n?. He only appears to count when the fighter is down or when he decides if the fight should continue..and that's just the stuff that isnt even that critical to the game..
Ring King arcade game from the 80’s is more fun than this game. Holy shit the gameplay of this is so terrible. I tried to warn people way back in early access on PC, there is something wrong with this game at the very base level, the code, the DNA of this game is just wrong. Really too bad because we are starving for a good boxing game

Don’t waste your money on this game. It’s insanely buggy and feels unfinished. If you plan on playing this for online don’t do it, the 5 fights I played online i fought strategically, would get the knockdowns and win rounds, but all people do is spam power hooks since stamina doesn’t mean shit and no matter how bad you’re beating them and how much block you have they can end you with a flash KO from the power hooks they spam through your block and run away with the win. Got lucky PlayStation gave me a full refund.
Game is trash and unfinished. Shouldn’t have been released. Nothing but spamming power punchers . Ghost punching during a ranked match across the ring. People quit mid fight which stops them from getting a loss. Some boxers are so op, they are only chosen. Boxers are sluggish and get stuck mid combo . Online connection is so trash it’s skipping.
You should be able to return a game if your not satisfied with it I’ve just spent £65 on this and instantly regret it the movement is so slow and the punches don’t even land properly
Once the game gets some updates and patches fixed it has good potential i am 2 days in i am enjoying it and being able to see yours & opponents record good wish was like that on ufc to see what kind of animal your dealing with

@@EazyE11 Can't handle name calling? what are you 8? The ref is just their to raise your hand, or he will stop a fight and you see him, just in the cut scenes. He's a clone of the ref from fight night round 4. They basically cloned fight night round 4 but made it so much worse.

Don’t waste your money on this game. It’s insanely buggy and feels unfinished. If you plan on playing this for online don’t do it, the 5 fights I played online i fought strategically, would get the knockdowns and win rounds, but all people do is spam power hooks since stamina doesn’t mean shit and no matter how bad you’re beating them and how much block you have they can end you with a flash KO from the power hooks they spam through your block and run away with the win. Got lucky PlayStation gave me a full refund.
Game is trash and unfinished. Shouldn’t have been released. Nothing but spamming power punchers . Ghost punching during a ranked match across the ring. People quit mid fight which stops them from getting a loss. Some boxers are so op, they are only chosen. Boxers are sluggish and get stuck mid combo . Online connection is so trash it’s skipping.
You should be able to return a game if your not satisfied with it I’ve just spent £65 on this and instantly regret it the movement is so slow and the punches don’t even land properly
Once the game gets some updates and patches fixed it has good potential i am 2 days in i am enjoying it and being able to see yours & opponents record good wish was like that on ufc to see what kind of animal your dealing with
It's so popular to review bomb this game right now, I don't get it. I think it's fantastic, granted I'm not playing online. By review bombing the game people are just reducing the chances that the game will be supported long term, with online balancing improvements and additional boxers

It honestly doesn’t look ti great visually in that the boxers seem very stiff when throwing the punches
Seems the general consensus is this game is pretty busted..and I will not lie it's a bad look the way they have been deleting reviews on Xbox at least (cannot speak for other platforms) but it gives me little faith how committed the studio will be to fixing it.. but we will see

This game is garbage, i cant believe i was excited for this. I think the presentation is horrible. I turned the commentary off. Career mode is ass too. I had to fight the same guy 6 times just to collect all the belts. Instead of all 4 in 1 fight like real life.
