Hello, I am using a friend's account to make this comment. At this time I don't believe I should weigh in from who I am. I would just like to say. My company and our employees are responsible for bringing in more money to pigeon forge than that city can afford to lose. I just want you two wonderful folks to know that some of us people with influence potential are aware of what's happening, and we are in no way turning a blind eye to what the powers that be are doing to you folks. We are sitting back watching And waiting to see if they do the right thing. You may reach out to me through this account if you feel this situation isn't going to go in the honest direction. We will makes ourselves known only if absolutely necessary. Because if my group gets involved it has the potential to cost pigeon forge billions in revenue. Thank you for posting this. I went through a similar situation and it was people like you, coming through in the very end, that helped tip the scales in my favor. They were business owners who brought money and tourism into the town and they didn’t want to get involved (understandable).
In the end they wrote a letter on behalf of my family along with a few others who were only willing to get involved if it was absolutely necessary. It made a difference.
I hope you are continuing to follow this family. Thank you for being a voice of support and offering your sword should this family need it. We must stand together when we see great wrongdoing being done.
@@vampire1111pitbull If you’re bringing in BILLIONS to Pigeon Forge, then that means your “company” stands to lose 100’s of millions in profit to take up the cause for an out of state investor for which you have absolutely no skin in the game. Sorry, I’m not buying it. Any sound business minded person wouldn’t make that sacrifice, that’s just absurd. And if you are, then you already know that another business will gladly step in and fill the void, and you will lose out big time for your misplaced principles.
So, since Mayor Ware seems to be the responsible party for the eminent domain, place a lien against his house and property for the value of your house… sovereign citizens do it all the time for spite against cops for just doing their jobs, your complaint with the mayor and pigeon forge is a legitimate complaint…. Especially if he sat back watching the renovations of the house. He being an elected public official, there is some sort corruption, personal gain, or some type of feasance involved. I don’t want to be their bearer of bad news but I don’t think Don Dare will reach out for fear of termination. I will explain. After the 2017 wildfire I contacted Kim King at a Knoxville network, either WATE or WBIR, regarding some issues that had come to light about the evacuation and response. As she began to research my claims she was finding things to be true. To make a long story short she was “discouraged” from continuing her research. She didn’t listen and kept pursuing and was terminated from her position. I’m telling you that you are going to have to search out of state for help. That whole area is so politically corrupt that it’s almost unbelievable.
Any bad news coming out of Sevierville is HEAVILY suppressed. Bad for business.

For those wondering about who owns the RV Park. Ive done a bit of digging myself and I will share what I have found. They arent releasing anything and whst ive found is public record. There are a few (3 or 4) Ogles that are on the city council and county board. Part of the RV Park property is owned by an Ogle. The other part is an LLC that has 4 members but I have yet to find out who they are. Im from rural central IL and came across this channel very randomly (probably from following Everything Auto lol) and Im so invested in this saga. I pray good overtakes evil. My mom and stepfather were married on Pigeon Forge 25 yrs ago this june and the whole family was planning to take a vacation there for their an anniversary this summer. We changed our plans, cancelled reservations etc. due to this. We will take our 15 grand plus and spend it elsewhere. Somewhere that appreciates and treats its locals with respect. The locals are who make tho tourist dollars for your town and PF does NOT respect its locals.
The Ogles own most of this town, not surprised.

Family lives in Tennessee and my mama is born there. I unfortunately live in Chicago and have always brought my children to Tennessee at least 2 times a year. Corruption happens everywhere but it seems to be the worst in the south. The good old “boys club” corruption

I have been to Pigeon Forge several times in my life and watch its transformation. City planning did a poor job in allowing too much growth too soon. It became like every other tourist spot...congested, dirty, overrun with too many tourist businesses and unsustainable for the original residents. Eminent domain has been misused too many times to justify progress and to protect the interests of corrupt politicians. It's sad to see what they have done to a beautiful landscape and turned it into a nightmare. The same goes for Gatlinburg.

There are a ton of eminent domain cases out there, but what draws my interest in your case is that I believe they hid this from you. Y'all be careful. The people you are up against may not care about your safety.

This is about corrupt officials lining their own pockets and thought they could take advantage of someone from out of town. They thought you wouldn’t fight back.
I feel like a lot of us following your story are just the peons that bring the dollars into Pigeon Forge with our cabin and motel rentals. We also spend it on souvenirs, restaurants, gas stations, entertainment and DollyWood. We peons do talk and socialize with other peons. Most of us are hardworking patriots that were raised the right way with Jesus in our hearts. When we talk to the other servants, we all need to agree to take our vacations elsewhere. I am 70 years old and just had my 1st trip to Pigeon Forge last year, it was beautiful. I was wanting to go back again, but this has changed that. Nashville is just as pretty, I live in Southeastern Indiana and we have our beautiful parts too! My point is us peons should take our vacations AND MONEY, elsewhere because of this! I will pray for you and may God bless you on your journey. He would not have led you there to abandon you! BE BLESSED!

It won’t really hurt their economy but I can promise if enough stand up they may notice. You may not be able to stop this but you have brought the light to a lot of what that town is. I looked up how to spell Mayor Wares (how I was spelling it in my head) name. I saw it is spelled Wear as in Wears Valley. I’m sure you’ve already figured out this is old money & good old boys. Like some other common names in Sevier Co/Gatlinburg. There is no way the mayor didn’t know that a road was coming through there with his families connections.

I hope you guys win this case. I don’t believe he has any legal obligation to tell you that your property is going to be condemned. But morally and ethically he should have said something. He has everything to gain but what has happened. He was able to keep his property and he is also in the condition to make millions off of this situation. While you guys got the shaft. I will no longer visit Pigeon Forge! I liked it a lot better when it was not a money pit. When there wasn't insane traffic and you could see the mountains. Now it's cabins on top of cabins. Fire hazard for sure. The litter is something you never saw 50 years ago. I love the mountains, not concrete and hotel after hotel. It's also to the point that as of last November a lot of foreign speaking people that can't understand English are being employed. It's a shame.

It’s so funny (not funny) how people try to minimize your plight by calling out privilege (being white, making a life for yourself) and labeling you an “outsider” - you’re 100% right: none of this matters.
What people should be realizing is that what’s happening to this family can happen to them.
You can do *everything* right and still end up in their situation. When the government is corrupt, overreaching, and without morality you just better pray you don’t have something they WANT.

For the last 50 years Seriver co. has been built on taking land from others for pennies on the dollar. My father grew up when pigeon forge was just farm land. I grew up with school mates loosing there home and family land to build veterans boulevard Your experence is not new at all for life-long residences. It's literally the norm. When Veterans boulevard was built, i was in high school and there people loosing alot more than an investment property. Your story is the story of sevier co. You said "i thnk its called a rod run" and have been nameing people that have roads and businees named after them like they where just regular politicians and not genrational "shot callers" for sevier co, that was the give away your not familure with sevier co. Business practices. So here is basic local math....more tourist more money.... campground vs one house / one rental vs 40 rentals = tax dollars. You are part of the tourist machine and are the most resent in a very very long line of sad stories that built this town. The only difference is this is not your actual home that's being destroyed, and you are not left looking for a new home with just a few thousand in your pocket. All things considered you're one of the lucky ones that can afford a 3,000 month investment (plus lawyer fees) to fight for what is fair vs. working here localy for $14 an hour and cant aford to buy a new home in your own community any time a new road is build or multimillion dollar project is coming to town. In the old days you take the first offer or your house ends up "catching on fire" and the fire department seems to be to busy to show up. Good luck and take as much as you can and go back home learning why east tennesse is a risky place to invest if your not a legacy local.

Happens all the time all across our nation.
Live close by and the city is all out for the money they can make regardless who they step on it’s that way in everything that goes on up there. Let me tell you how far they will stoop. For over 20 years 2 quilting groups had a quilt show there the 3 rd week of March every year and it was held in a small center. It drew a large number of people from out of town in a rather slow time of the year. The city co sponsored. They built the big new civic center and said oh we will move the quilt show there. First couple of year went well large space everything under one roof admission was and still is free. Then about 3 rd year they told the ladies that put on the show oh you can’t have the center that week it is being used by a paid group. You will have to do such week. Then it has continued to move it is now up into the early June. The majority of the attendees are retired and don’t want to come to Pigeon Forge in peek time. Rates are higher crowds bigger, restaurants more crowded. So what was a 5 1/2 day event has shrunk to a 3 day event and does not even include a Saturday. In the quilting world you have to do a contract with national teachers 3-4 years out and now they usually only know maybe a year ahead when they can have there show. That is how they treat people. Yes it is greed and what all they can take from people to make a few pockets deeper and deeper. I know you like the area but I would get what I could and run as far from Pigeon Forge as possible. This is just from the experience I know has happen and we never go there any more.

First let me say that I hate that you and your family are going through this but I am thankful that you have brought this to light. The only questions I have is 1. Have you also reported this corruption to the Tennessee Ethic Commission and 2. if so, did they respond and what did they say? Hopefully the Ethic Commission will investigate and remove all the people involved. My plan is to move to the TN mountains when I retire. It really breaks my heart that corrupt people are destroying what use to be something great. Praying or you and your family during this time.

If you have the march at the rod run, do it early. Like 9 or 10am and plan on getting there an hour or two early, rod run traffic is horrific to say the least. Do NOT do it after the sun goes down. It's turned into Mardi Gras on wheels after dark.

Boycott that campground
I’m a full time RV’r and am from NC so I’m not far. I belong to a number of RV social media sites that reach into the millions of potential Pigeon Forge campers and I’ll start spreading the word there also. If we can just get 5% of those folks to not stop at this campground, then that will deliver a massive financial hit to this man and his fellow investors. They may be local and old money but we are nationwide and RV’s are closer than close knit families and that word travels and travels fast and we all stick up for one another and help protect each other. If this man will do this to someone he sat and watched for 7 months, just imagine what he’ll do to the family that’s only in town for a week to have some fun!
