I volunteered with Sevier Co. Sheriffs Dept for two summers in the early 1990’s and Fall of the year all we got done was going to calls where some sissy city slicker was renting a cabin to report they see someone walking with a flashlight over on the other ridge we would go check it out and 10 out of 10 times it was someone running their bear dogs and the cabin renters would cry, piss, and moan saying why can they do that?? We have kids we are scared. Which the only thing we could do is tell them if they are scared pack up and go home running hunting dogs is perfectly legal and it’s our local Heritage. .. You hold the door for them and they say nothing as they walk by, I have a friend that owns a BP station and her son was running the register and a guy paid for his gas and was counting out the money on the counter which was $40 he got to $35 and before he laid down the last $5 Bill the boy picked up the cash and the guy went to blessing him out saying “You do that shit where I am from you get the crap smacked out of you” I was fixing to say something to him but the young mans father was there who lucky was a Sevierville City Office at the time so the A-Hole was arrested for threatening, and public disturbance I am sure the charges were dropped but he still took the ride and got to go through the booking process. Almost half of the church parking lot which was on the property I own I just happened to be outside at 2:00 am it was summer time and a nice pickup truck pulls into the church parking lot pulling a $100k Airstream I seen him messing around the back of the camper then got in the truck pulled out and went right by my house at which time I was hit with a stink of sewage he had dumped his sewage tanks in the church parking lot since I was the property owner I was more than happy to prosecute him. They caught him in Sevierville heading to I-40 the sheriff was so mad he told the guy “I think I will let every prisoner I have in the jail come out one by one and piss and shit in your camper. The guy was a traveling evangelist. This is the type I don’t like but thankfully not all are like these folks, but if I had it my way Gatlinburg wouldn’t be a tourist destination. I have lived here all my 57 years the 1970 and 1980’s were great. I have met more nice people than bad, but II would rather go back to the way it was in the 1970’s
So you will allow small businesses to fail and peoples livelihoods to get ruined because of an elected official? Do you not remember how much the recession upended local businesses in that Smokey Mountain area in 2008? More than ¾ quarters of Pigeon Forge hotels and businesses was locally owned and operated. Now it "may be" ¼ if that. Just stay where you are and spend money there, and also, if this affects you that much, you might not spend money there as well. Because I guarantee you that in your area, the government at one point has done that exact same thing to an individual or group of individuals.
I used to visit Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge years ago, but haven't been in years. The last time I was there was my last. That area has been absolutely ruined by tourism. It's an absolute freak show these days.

What is sad, is this happens to hard working folks every day in America. I pity the landowners who have 200 acres and up in the next 10 years, as there are people that will find a legal way to take what belongs to you away from you. They will either do it through taxation or eminent domain. I watched an entire neighborhood of hundreds of homes get razed by the city for an airport expansion. This expansion didn't happen for many, many years. So what do you think the rental car agencies had to pay for that land later, in order to build their little parking lots and rental buildings? Probably 50 times what was paid to the original neighborhood owners.

All of Sevier County is. One day, look up the filing of the lawsuit against the National Park from the 2016 wildfires. They couldn't sue the city of Gatlinburg, only the park service but the city leaders should have been sued and put behind bars. 14 people died that night. Many of us came close to having no escape and over 2500 structures were lost. They knew for 5 days that fire was growing. Half of the fire and police departments were on vacation for Thanksgiving, no one called back early. (Not their fault) They knew 80+ mph winds were coming the day before the deaths. Our entire county turned orange and not a single warning, alert or phone call went out. People on top of these mountains called 911 and were told to stay in their homes, someone would let them know if they needed to evacuate. Older people, handicapped and fragile souls stuck on burning land. Zero help. They sent the first fire trucks and fighters to protect downtown businesses. While 911 callers were surrounded by flames, dispatchers were curt and rude. No one should have lost their lives. The leaders were less than apologetic and blamed it mostly on the residents. They took absolutely no responsibility. Locals took that lead and continue to blame those poor victims instead of demanding answers. There's something so wrong with these people in charge. Greed. Corruption. Arrogance.

So he says his intrest was desolved before he ended up being involved in the illegal seizure that took these people's home. He is a crook and should have to pay them full compensation, court costs and attorney fees as well as prison time!

He couldn't profit WHILE HE WAS MAYOR! He likely became mayor, to stop the road going through his campground. He would dissolve the contract he made to "temporarily" remove his interest in the campground, to stop the road! We had a similar issue where to build a house you needed 500 feet road frontage. A woman who couldn't pay her mortgage wanted an easement, to allow her to sell some of her property, but it only would have 350 feet road frontage. We went to contest it, because we built our house back on our property, where we knew no one could build beside us. If approved, she would be on our fence line. They would never have approved it if she wanted to build next to them. They approved it! She was required to build at the front of her property. We were driving on our property and saw a guy digging her basement, ABOUT 30 FEET FROM OUR FENCE! We were furious! We got a lawyer to send a cease and desist letter to her, her builder, and the town council. We had a meeting, and the first thing they said to us was, as Christians, we should have gone to them first, and not gotten a lawyer. My husband is a patient man, but he was angry. He told them we went to them before, and now have someone building a house without the proper road frontage, without any rational reason. So, sorry if you're "offended" that we didn't allow you to roll over us again. As Christians, we obeyed the rules requiring 500 feet road frontage. But that didn't matter, and once approved, this woman decided she could did a basement, and you would not stop her, from building where you specifically told her she could not build. If we had not been there, she would have a house built practically on our property line, which was her goal from the beginning! Because we fought back, she had to fill in the basement, and build where she was approved to build. It angers me greatly, when those in power, misuse it for their benefit, and expect us to suck it up and take it!

Because of this, we've already decided that we WILL NOT even CONSIDER building our new home near Pigeon Forge, nor will we give Pigeon Forge businesses any of our dollars, unless the mayor loses his job and the town in good faith rectifies this situation. These people are crooks, and I'm appalled that the residents of that town do not speak out against this injustice! From our family to yours, keep fighting the good fight against this corruption. It will be our fourth home. We have plenty of reserves to build whatever and wherever we would like to go. There are many tracts of land over 5 acres available for building. We just haven't decided which town and lake we want to be close to. We travel to NE Tennessee twice a year to research the areas. Again, Pigeon Forge and Sevier County will not be getting any of our property tax dollars. I'm sure they won't care anyway, so it's a win-win for all.

It’s crazy, Unless you live here, you have no idea how much this big tourist town is still run by a couple people/families that go back to the founding of this community. She talked about ogles Road. They are one of if not THE founding families of this whole area. The ogles own so much in this county. Dolly Parton’s personal assistant for 30 something years was an Ogle. I’ve always heard the mayor of pigeon Forge last name is Wear! His family, I think are descendants of the Wears valley area of Pigeon Forge and Sevierville! Google Wears Valley you’ll see what I’m talking about. If you work at a job with more than 20 people, you will work with a Parton, Ogle, Husky etc etc. Most of them are lovely people. It’s the rich side.
Think of how this effects this poor family. I wouldn't want to live in this community after this. Sad because Tennessee is supposed to be the place you go to to get away from this kind of corruption, but it's getting worse everywhere it seems.

Well many years down the road one of my good friends told me that someone had bought his sisters house and was gonna let her live there for like 8 months rent free until she had to be out. Not only was her house bought but the three neighbors as well. These homes were next to a big highway and were old shotgun homes, 3 bedrooms one bath deals. Well turns out it was the girl I had dated and she was a realtor and her dad got wind that plans were coming for a huge hospital to be built right there off that exit so she intern bought these homes knowing that the property was gonna skyrocket once the council had approved the plans for the facility! It’s every where! Good luck and keep up the good fight and make them pay for what they have done to you and your family!!!

So to summarize, there are 2 proposed routes for the new bypass. The mayor's family owns property on route 1 by the creek-so that's out...Then they decided the 2nd route route affects the campground that the MAYOR HAS A FINANCIAL INTEREST IN and is a MEMBER OF THE OWNING LLC that holds the campground property...so that's definitely out - scrap that. Lets just move the road up and get rid of this family home (they're from OH anyway) DING DING.... Oh, and the mayor coincidentally hands off his "interest" in the property AFTER the "secret meeting" that decided to the third route happened. WHAT A P.O.S LIAR. His OWN AUNT calls him out during an OFFICIAL CITY MEETING from the audience!!! I hope that his corruption and everyone who aided in it goes down for this. This is despicable. FIGHT ON!!! I hope and pray you get the justice your family deserves.
Having a new council won't get you back what you lost. You still owe a bank for this land you lost, you STILL owe for a house that was torn down by them, and NO COMPENSATION for any of it. Wondering if there's not a way that you can put a lien against the campground for what has happened with your mortgage. Talk to your attorney. Or a real estate attorney, if he is not.
Help Philly. On my way to my mom's I noticed a State Trooper behind me with his lights on so I slow down and was looking for a safe place to pull over. Trooper pull up along the side of me pointing what I believe was a gun and shouded pull over. Make a long story short they snatch me out the car said stop resistant, I said I'm not. Th y remove my nephew who was in the car with me from the scene and a little why later dropped me off and stole my car. The traffic tickets did not even have my name on them they had someone else name on the tickets when I went to court they said they had no case for me they stole my car and they sold it. I may reports everyone from the Secretary of State down to the mayor's office to the sheriff's office to the police department ignored this whole thing like it never happened. Th district courts denied me access to file a claim. I later did a VIN check and my car was sold out the country.this was a straight arm robbery and I fear the law enforcement now.
For all your anguish and heartache, I believe God put the right two people in this position to see justice thru. You’ve paid a steep price, but God has put you in this fight for a time such as this. I volunteered with Sevier Co. Sheriffs Dept for two summers in the early 1990’s and Fall of the year all we got done was going to calls where some sissy city slicker was renting a cabin to report they see someone walking with a flashlight over on the other ridge we would go check it out and 10 out of 10 times it was someone running their bear dogs and the cabin renters would cry, piss, and moan saying why can they do that?? We have kids we are scared. Which the only thing we could do is tell them if they are scared pack up and go home running hunting dogs is perfectly legal and it’s our local Heritage. .. You hold the door for them and they say nothing as they walk by, I have a friend that owns a BP station and her son was running the register and a guy paid for his gas and was counting out the money on the counter which was $40 he got to $35 and before he laid down the last $5 Bill the boy picked up the cash and the guy went to blessing him out saying “You do that shit where I am from you get the crap smacked out of you” I was fixing to say something to him but the young mans father was there who lucky was a Sevierville City Office at the time so the A-Hole was arrested for threatening, and public disturbance I am sure the charges were dropped but he still took the ride and got to go through the booking process. Almost half of the church parking lot which was on the property I own I just happened to be outside at 2:00 am it was summer time and a nice pickup truck pulls into the church parking lot pulling a $100k Airstream I seen him messing around the back of the camper then got in the truck pulled out and went right by my house at which time I was hit with a stink of sewage he had dumped his sewage tanks in the church parking lot since I was the property owner I was more than happy to prosecute him. They caught him in Sevierville heading to I-40 the sheriff was so mad he told the guy “I think I will let every prisoner I have in the jail come out one by one and piss and shit in your camper. The guy was a traveling evangelist. This is the type I don’t like but thankfully not all are like these folks, but if I had it my way Gatlinburg wouldn’t be a tourist destination. I have lived here all my 57 years the 1970 and 1980’s were great. I have met more nice people than bad, but II would rather go back to the way it was in the 1970’s
So you will allow small businesses to fail and peoples livelihoods to get ruined because of an elected official? Do you not remember how much the recession upended local businesses in that Smokey Mountain area in 2008? More than ¾ quarters of Pigeon Forge hotels and businesses was locally owned and operated. Now it "may be" ¼ if that. Just stay where you are and spend money there, and also, if this affects you that much, you might not spend money there as well. Because I guarantee you that in your area, the government at one point has done that exact same thing to an individual or group of individuals.
I used to visit Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge years ago, but haven't been in years. The last time I was there was my last. That area has been absolutely ruined by tourism. It's an absolute freak show these days.

When the mayor admitted that he watched the buyers fixing up their house without telling them about the road plans that would result in its demolition, he conclusively established himself as the villain in this saga.

What is sad, is this happens to hard working folks every day in America. I pity the landowners who have 200 acres and up in the next 10 years, as there are people that will find a legal way to take what belongs to you away from you. They will either do it through taxation or eminent domain. I watched an entire neighborhood of hundreds of homes get razed by the city for an airport expansion. This expansion didn't happen for many, many years. So what do you think the rental car agencies had to pay for that land later, in order to build their little parking lots and rental buildings? Probably 50 times what was paid to the original neighborhood owners.

People run for office as a means of wealth. Here its at another level though. Not one cop in the county has dash or body cams. So if you make a stink. Guess what happens to your someone in your family.

One day, look up the filing of the lawsuit against the National Park from the 2016 wildfires.
They couldn't sue the city of Gatlinburg, only the park service but the city leaders should have been sued and put behind bars.
14 people died that night.
Many of us came close to having no escape and over 2500 structures were lost.
They knew for 5 days that fire was growing.
Half of the fire and police departments were on vacation for Thanksgiving, no one called back early. (Not their fault) They knew 80+ mph winds were coming the day before the deaths.
Our entire county turned orange and not a single warning, alert or phone call went out.
People on top of these mountains called 911 and were told to stay in their homes, someone would let them know if they needed to evacuate.
Older people, handicapped and fragile souls stuck on burning land.
Zero help.
They sent the first fire trucks and fighters to protect downtown businesses.
While 911 callers were surrounded by flames, dispatchers were curt and rude.
No one should have lost their lives.
The leaders were less than apologetic and blamed it mostly on the residents.
They took absolutely no responsibility.
Locals took that lead and continue to blame those poor victims instead of demanding answers.
There's something so wrong with these people in charge.
Greed.
Corruption.
Arrogance.

He couldn't profit WHILE HE WAS MAYOR! He likely became mayor, to stop the road going through his campground. He would dissolve the contract he made to "temporarily" remove his interest in the campground, to stop the road!
We had a similar issue where to build a house you needed 500 feet road frontage. A woman who couldn't pay her mortgage wanted an easement, to allow her to sell some of her property, but it only would have 350 feet road frontage. We went to contest it, because we built our house back on our property, where we knew no one could build beside us. If approved, she would be on our fence line. They would never have approved it if she wanted to build next to them. They approved it! She was required to build at the front of her property. We were driving on our property and saw a guy digging her basement, ABOUT 30 FEET FROM OUR FENCE! We were furious! We got a lawyer to send a cease and desist letter to her, her builder, and the town council. We had a meeting, and the first thing they said to us was, as Christians, we should have gone to them first, and not gotten a lawyer. My husband is a patient man, but he was angry. He told them we went to them before, and now have someone building a house without the proper road frontage, without any rational reason. So, sorry if you're "offended" that we didn't allow you to roll over us again. As Christians, we obeyed the rules requiring 500 feet road frontage. But that didn't matter, and once approved, this woman decided she could did a basement, and you would not stop her, from building where you specifically told her she could not build. If we had not been there, she would have a house built practically on our property line, which was her goal from the beginning!
Because we fought back, she had to fill in the basement, and build where she was approved to build.
It angers me greatly, when those in power, misuse it for their benefit, and expect us to suck it up and take it!

Because of this, we've already decided that we WILL NOT even CONSIDER building our new home near Pigeon Forge, nor will we give Pigeon Forge businesses any of our dollars, unless the mayor loses his job and the town in good faith rectifies this situation. These people are crooks, and I'm appalled that the residents of that town do not speak out against this injustice! From our family to yours, keep fighting the good fight against this corruption. Have you checked land and home prices in E. TN lately? They are skyrocketing. The traffic congestion is getting worse.E TN Is full.
It will be our fourth home. We have plenty of reserves to build whatever and wherever we would like to go. There are many tracts of land over 5 acres available for building. We just haven't decided which town and lake we want to be close to. We travel to NE Tennessee twice a year to research the areas. Again, Pigeon Forge and Sevier County will not be getting any of our property tax dollars. I'm sure they won't care anyway, so it's a win-win for all.
Please don't move here. Too many people have already come and driven up the property values. Go somewhere else with your plenty of reserves.

It’s crazy, Unless you live here, you have no idea how much this big tourist town is still run by a couple people/families that go back to the founding of this community. She talked about ogles Road. They are one of if not THE founding families of this whole area. The ogles own so much in this county. Dolly Parton’s personal assistant for 30 something years was an Ogle. I’ve always heard the mayor of pigeon Forge last name is Wear! His family, I think are descendants of the Wears valley area of Pigeon Forge and Sevierville! Google Wears Valley you’ll see what I’m talking about. If you work at a job with more than 20 people, you will work with a Parton, Ogle, Husky etc etc. Most of them are lovely people. It’s the rich side.

People ask me why I don’t attend our city council meetings and I tell them one thing, Bail Money! Because I’m gonna hurt some feeling when I speak without a doubt! All government is 98% crooked, that’s why Trump is so hated. So I dated this girl along time ago, she’s from a wealthy family and her dad is a council member. Well many years down the road one of my good friends told me that someone had bought his sisters house and was gonna let her live there for like 8 months rent free until she had to be out. Not only was her house bought but the three neighbors as well. These homes were next to a big highway and were old shotgun homes, 3 bedrooms one bath deals. Well turns out it was the girl I had dated and she was a realtor and her dad got wind that plans were coming for a huge hospital to be built right there off that exit so she intern bought these homes knowing that the property was gonna skyrocket once the council had approved the plans for the facility! It’s every where! Good luck and keep up the good fight and make them pay for what they have done to you and your family!!!

So to summarize, there are 2 proposed routes for the new bypass. The mayor's family owns property on route 1 by the creek-so that's out...Then they decided the 2nd route route affects the campground that the MAYOR HAS A FINANCIAL INTEREST IN and is a MEMBER OF THE OWNING LLC that holds the campground property...so that's definitely out - scrap that. Lets just move the road up and get rid of this family home (they're from OH anyway) DING DING.... Oh, and the mayor coincidentally hands off his "interest" in the property AFTER the "secret meeting" that decided to the third route happened. WHAT A P.O.S LIAR. His OWN AUNT calls him out during an OFFICIAL CITY MEETING from the audience!!! I hope that his corruption and everyone who aided in it goes down for this. This is despicable. FIGHT ON!!! I hope and pray you get the justice your family deserves.
Having a new council won't get you back what you lost. You still owe a bank for this land you lost, you STILL owe for a house that was torn down by them, and NO COMPENSATION for any of it. Help Philly. On my way to my mom's I noticed a State Trooper behind me with his lights on so I slow down and was looking for a safe place to pull over. Trooper pull up along the side of me pointing what I believe was a gun and shouded pull over. Make a long story short they snatch me out the car said stop resistant, I said I'm not. Th y remove my nephew who was in the car with me from the scene and a little why later dropped me off and stole my car. The traffic tickets did not even have my name on them they had someone else name on the tickets when I went to court they said they had no case for me they stole my car and they sold it. I may reports everyone from the Secretary of State down to the mayor's office to the sheriff's office to the police department ignored this whole thing like it never happened. Th district courts denied me access to file a claim. I later did a VIN check and my car was sold out the country.this was a straight arm robbery and I fear the law enforcement now.
He's bound by the signature; he'd have to sign a new amended page to back himself away from the loan.

God is so awesome!! The cesspool of land grabbing politicians and all the list of lawyers, surveyors, etc. over the years makes me sick. I'm so happy y'all have a breakthrough and God will give you strength to see this through. So proud of our Ohio friends.
