Just ordered a passing choke and used your code. Ready to test it out!

      Yessir!! I appreciate it!

Same results I got from my tests. I tested a full cremator and h2o set at 20 and 40, and the patterns of the much more expensive muller were really not much better than the cremator. Creamators were more open and a more useable hunting pattern.

Can you try patterning these 2 chokes at 40 yards? That is the intended range for them to be used at. The pattern has not developed at 30 yards. Would have been great to see what the decoy and close range chokes at 30 yards.

I like the slightly more open pattern from the carlson.

Yeah and for half the price!

Remember the Muller passing choke is intended for 40+ yards so the pattern hasn’t fully developed. At 30yards, the Muller Decoy choke is what’s recommended and that pattern would’ve been more open as it would’ve fully developed. Not knocking Carleson either, I think their chokes are great too.

Just go to hf and buy a 10$ caliper so you can measure out your stuff. Good to scribe it on somewhere above the barrel too with like a diamond coated small file. The more evenly distributed pattern is always best.

Wouldnt more accurate test would be decoy muller which is supposed to be light modified vs cremator mid, passing vs cremator long range

Must know the constrictions for real comparisons.

Carlson mid range is .725, Muller passing is .713, so really the Carlson long range (.715) is more equivalent to the Muller passing. Might be a future video testing those out

Without using the same constriction ( in thousands) of an inch and no rest to put the forend on this test means very little ! Sorry but I been doing this for over 20 years ………

Makes the test that much more realistic. Great video kid.

A two-dimensional picture of a three dimensional phenomenon (the shot CLOUD). Almost worthless information.

You also have to keep in mind that no matter how long the shot cloud is, it is going to pass the duck in less than a one hundredth of a second, so looking at it on paper to see how it patterns, is a good thing to do, it doesn't matter if your shot string is 6 inches or 6 feet long, if you shoot just a little in front of the target, your whole pattern will miss, most people think that if you miss in front, the bird will get hit by the back pellets, and that is why most people like a longer shot cloud. But the truth of the matter is, it doesn't matter how long your shot cloud is, a miss is a miss.

Do some research, it flyes past the target so fast it almost doesn’t matter. The if it looks like shit on paper it won’t magically look good on a duck.

Watch surviving duck season on TH-cam, he does a video with slo mo of the shot string.

@@coocspursuits I shoot a few ducks, doves and quail each season. I’ve shot 7400 rounds at sporting clays this year. Yes, the time a target stays in a shot cloud is in milliseconds, but that short time is NOT insignificant! Think about this. A clay target at 25 yards hit absolutely perfectly, meaning the front part of the shot cloud breaks the clay, and then the pieces stay in the shot cloud, and that results in what we call ink balls! In other words, the clay is turned to dust. if the clay enters the cloud in the mid part of it, it breaks into a number of pieces. If the clay intersects the cloud at the very back or on the edge of it, you might simply break it in half. Although totally impossible, thinking, hypothetically, if all of the shot flew out of the end of the barrel, and arrived at the target, in exactly the same time in a “pattern“ such as you see on a piece of paper, it is unlikely he would ever be able to break a target in more than one or two pieces. George Digweed can regularly break crossing targets at 70 yards. Pattern a gun at 70 yards and tell me how many silhouettes of clays you can put in it. Dozens! You would be lucky to break one or two clay targets passing edge on that 70 yards if it weren’t for the fact that Clé inner sex multiple Perlence, while in the shot cloud.

You should have tested muller passing to carolson long range.

Muller passing equals to long range.
