I got a beautiful fabric with little red and black flowers on it I'm going to make a skirt using my Lutterloh system I'm just looking through it as I watch your video ❤
Great to hear!!! Quick note: Someone just let me know that for skirts, pants, and shorts you can go strictly by the hip measurement for all points. I used the bust measurement for the waist points, which means my skirt must be a tad higher than the model’s. So, however you like it!! Let me know how it turns out!
I really love this tutorial and am saving up to purchase the system. Please make more of these tutorials! You are very clear and easy to understand. It’s helpful to see the construction steps.
@@Sew-Happy aww same here. Your skirt came out lovely. Can’t wait to try it out soon. I’ve got a vintage one as well. I find the older patterns so inspiring.
Very helpful video, thank you ❤ Why you took the bust measurement for the waist? I read in my Lutterloh for skirts and trousers only the hip measurement?🤔
It seems you are right!!!! 😮 thank you for mentioning. Since I have used the bust measurement for the waistline, this means that my skirt is sitting at/near my true waist, which is why it still fits fine. I will amend in next video.
I had a similar system when MUCH younger in 1970s. It was in a folder with yellow edges - may have been the same system. Question - if using bust measurement, how does the system deal with things like smaller high bust / FBA, narrow shoulders, sway back etc? Would I still have to make all those adjustments?
Good question… you would still need to make those specific adjustments, yes. For me, since I’m only 5’0, I’m always having to adjust the length of skirts and pants.
I did not make any adjustments!! 🎉 But just like any pattern, for this system you may need to change hem lengths, adjust sleeve lengths, make sway back adjustments, etc … to meet your specific needs.

Hello! I heard about this system many years ago, but I totally forgot about it. Do you think thta this system works for overweight people too? The skirt looks great! Thanks!
There are two distinct kits - the Regular which starts at 50cm/19.6" and goes up to 140cm/55" - and covers most sizes/shapes for Men, Women, Children and has speciality designs for Maternity, Fuller Figured, Bridal, Formal and Casual wear. Templates are printed in Yellow - to match the Yellow/White Tape Measure. There is a Classic Collection of 6 Special Editions for the Fuller Figure in this range too, as well as a Vintage Edition, and collections for Men and Children. The XL/XXL kit starts at 110cm/43.5" and goes up to 170cm/67". Templates are printed in Blue - to match the Blue Tape Measure. While there is a cross-over in the sizes they each cover, the two kits are not interchangeable, as the scaling of the specialist Tape Measures is different for each kit.
@@bmsay2 oh, good - glad you found the rulers - they are very helpful! My favorite part of this system is the binder of patterns 😊 I love looking through it!
@@cleanqueen75 Not as expensive as commercial patterns - which can be anything up to €20 a-piece. My Lutterloh-System Supplements each have 40 designs in them and cost around €15 - which makes each pattern less than 40 cents each.

That system is very interesting! It’s always intriguing the way you can do a full pattern with just 1 or 2 measurements. ❤
It’s very cool - hundreds of patterns and they all work this way
@@Sew-Happy Nice! Please show us more 😁
That was absolutely amazing and your teaching skills are excellent. Wonderful video.

It’s nice to see the system here on TH-cam. I recently purchased the system but have not used it yet. Hope you make more of their patterns 😊
It took me a while to actually use it! 😂 But it was love at first sight, for sure. I'm looking forward to sharing more soon! 💕

@@Sew-Happy You're welcome - Folks always ask about which templates are being used - so I developed a habit of recording them :)
@@KazM-Made thanks - I may need your help for the upcoming ones! 😉 I see the years on each pattern sheet, but how did you find the supplement number?

Where did you get the seam allowance ruler?
I bought it on Amazon years ago, but I don’t see it there anymore
Thank you. Well done. I purchased this program about 10 years ago. Dusting it off to try again. I found the rulers.

Oh boy I don’t know my centimeters
Me neither! 😂 but you just have to convert those 2 body measurements and the rest is smooth sailing ⛵️
Looks complicated!
I think it’s pretty fun and relaxing, like making a puzzle. But, it may not be for everyone.
