- Amjad Islam Amjad is an Urdu Poet, Drama writer and lyricist from Pakistan. He has received many awards for his literary work and screenplay for TV, including pride of performance and Sitara-e-Imtiaz. Amjad Islam Amjad reciting his ghazal/nazm at Jashn-e-Rekhta.
Jashn-e-Rekhta, a 2-Day grand Urdu Festival celebrated by Rekhta Foundation (www.rekhta.org) on March 14th and 15th at India International Centre, Delhi.
For two mesmeric days, some of the Urdu’s finest poets, authors and artists came together to bring alive Urdu’s lyrical beauty and resonating eloquence through live performances, panel discussions and interactive sessions.

One of my favourites poet.. I especially love him for his PTV serilas Fishaar, samundar,Ghanti etc .. He is an iconic poet. He is an institution in himself. Poets sitting in background are no match to him..

ایک انتہائی خوب صورت ادبی محفل جسکا تین بدذوق شریک محفل( وسیم بریلوی,میزبان و معلن اور ایک خسرہ نما شریک محفل جو مستقل طور پر اسٹیج پر پریڈ کرتے ہوئے موبائل پر مصروف تھا) نے ستیاناس کردیا اگر ان بدذوقوں کو محفل مشاعرہ کے آداب ہی نہیں معلوم تھے تو انکو اسٹیج پر نہیں بیٹھنا تھا
بالکل درست،،
نشاندہی بھی اور اُسکا کا حل بھی سہی تجویز کیاہے، ویسے ایک تو آپ کے ہی والے یعنی وسیم بریلوی اور دوسرے یہ چشمے والے حضرت کو کیا معلوم نہیں تھا کہ یہ ادبی محفل ہے اور اس میں ایک بڑا مجمع زندہ لوگوں کا بھی ہوتا ہے جن کو انہی تو دیتا ہی ہے بلکہ دکھائی بھی دیتا ہے۔ یہ کس نہج کے ادیب ہیں جنہیں آدابِ محفل سے کچھ علاقہ نہیں۔۔۔ ہم کسطرح کے لوگوں کو کیا کیا رتبے دیتے چلے جا رہے ہیں۔۔۔۔۔
