Winding the Warp for My Double Weave Double Width Blanket

- I'm finally ready to wind the warp for my double weave double width blanket, using my hand spun yarn. I have to be careful to take into account the stretchiness of the Shetland wool when measuring out the correct length. I demonstrate how to do this and then show how I measure out the warp.

Great video! Beautiful colors. I hope you'll be posting progress videos along the way.
Thank you! I will be definitely be showing g the double weave process. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the tip on measuring out stretchy yarn for your warp. I’m interested to see how your project goes.
You are so welcome! I finally got the new reed so I'm starting to beam the warp. I'll post my progress. Thanks for watching.
I’ve been so excited for you to start this as I have no idea what the technique is going to be for a double weave. 🤯😵💫🤔What software do you use? I’ve been wanting to purchase something.
I've been excited to start it too ~ Someone described this project as having it's own time-zone! It keeps getting delayed for one reason or another. But I finally got everything I need and started warping it yesterday. Stay tuned for the video! Thanks for watching.
I forgot to address your software question. It depends on if you use a PC or Mac. I use Fiberworks Bronze on a PC and iWeaveIt on the iPad. Fiberworks makes a Mac version but I think iWeaveIt is a better product for the Mac and has software for the iPad if you use one.
Having hard time where the quarter of a yard is. Looks like it would be a quarter of an inch
I may not have explained it very well in the video. The wool was measured at 3 3/4 yards (unstretched off the wrapping board). Once I wound it onto the warping board (with normal tension) it stretched to 4 yards, according to my non-stretchy cotton path string. If I would have measured 3 3/4 yds with the cotton string, then wound the wool I would have ended up with a short warp. Hope that makes sense. Thanks for watching!
