That casual affair hits hard!
The singer's voice is so damn good. He sounds just as great live as on the albums!
what a band!!!!! and those songs OMG
Pure talent. Notice, no in-ear monitors, no auto tune. Emerson Hart is one of the best live singers of our generation. He is pitch perfect for almost the entire set. Amazing harmonies from Dan and Jeff. One of the most underrated bands of the last two decades.
In-ear monitors are a good thing. Vocal tuning has been part of audio production forever. Glad you liked the performance, they were great.
@@flanger001 Tonic doesn’t use IEM’s, though…which makes their performance even more impressive. As a musician myself, I definitely know the difference and favor IEM’s when I can use them.
@@BatRocker The way you framed this made it seem like IEMs are a crutch and they aren't. Some people perform better with them, some people don't.
in my humble opinion, this is one of by far the most underated bands in music. They are and always will be my top favorite bands of all time!!! Lemon parade is one of the best records ive heard put out.
Rusty Muir I am soo bummed I have not had the oppurtunity to see this amazing group of musicians yet. I checked the tour dates. no where near me. I have to see this band live. please keep touring Tonic!
the Lemon Parade show at Molly Malone's in Hollywood 7/2016 was ABSOLUTELY GLORIOUS and relevatory, Lemon Parade album top to bottom plus many other songs from all of the albums,
in a room w a great sound and crew and Irish beer...
I was fist pumping a crutch and wobbly but I would have belly crawled through broken glass, rusty razors and venomous serpents for THIS ICONIC show well played and sung by these so so talented men,
and personable each and all of them. JEFF... DAN... EMERSON and several drummers bringin' the THUNDER in their time...
AGREED.
Rusty Muir I couldn’t agree with you more what an excellent band.. I remember listening to this years ago there was also another band that came out around the same time I believe..Another one of those underrated bands..they were called Brother Cane....👍
Totally agree. They are really an extremely good band that I wish more people would listen to. I love their lyrics and unique guitar sound. So freaking talented.
I saw them in Jacksonville OR at the Britt Festival. They were Awesome! I've always loved this band from the first time I heard them! Team Tonic baby!
Emerson was dating a friend of mine around the time Lemon Parade was coming out - I used to hang with him sometimes - great guy - very underrated band - saw them live all over LA no less than 20 times and they never disappointed
AMAZING. TONIC IS A REAL BAND. WELL DEFINED, STRUCUTURED. STRONG ONE. A GOOD GOOD ONE.
I got to see this show in walker,mn....it was amazing! No one had any idea they would finish with 'Irish' and I was with about 3 other people that knew and Loved the song....it was surreal...a memory I'll have forever. So cool
Lemon Parade. Masterpiece and best rock albums of the 90's IMO.
all of the 1st 3 albums of tonic by far the greatest underrated releases in alternative rock history..
Add Sugar and Head On Straight to your catalogue. Equally good albums, and I'd argue maybe even better!
Have you heard Nirvanas In Utero? That’s number one.
incredible. I can watch it everyday in my life😂
I cannot get enough of Tonic!
These guys are seriously under-rated. Top notch songs and live performance. Musicians are sorely missed today...you have to be a model to be a successful musician which is sad. So many wasted performers out there.
Thexderx I've said that for years. Should have more credit for what they've accomplished in 22 years. Consistent...well written songs. All you hear nowadays is mostly shit!!!
Thexderx they are not wasted, brother
So true! My kids' choice in "music" is trash.
I don’t look the part but I have been doing it for 20 years and people are basically angry I haven’t been discovered yet. This isn’t an ego trip, it’s just the way things are. I’ve got the rockstar gene. Every day I push it further away the older I grow, but it’s a good outlet when I’m upset or sad.
Btw Sugar is probably in my top 3 albums of all time. It’s nearly perfect.
@@ahartis i know right, 2022 a guy who is an influencer raps the same note the entire song the crowd goes wild
Im a lover of live music - If you do it live - you have me - this band is another level - just brilliant - I rate Tonic and album Lemon Parade as one of the GREAT records of my time - 100%
It’s really cool how Emerson Hart takes advantage of those solid body acoustic guitars to switch back and forth between acoustic and electric sound. I always thought that small detail really set them apart in a love setting for their style.
Still one of my most favorite rock bands in the last 25 years - right there with STP.
So many great songs. Very underrated.
The coolest 👍 Thanks for the great music, Tonic 🎵
Future says Run. That song is so powerful.
Always loved these guys. Love that green SG Jr. as well
Can't wait for new material from tonic
I do love Tonic.
Best band of 21st century🎶
What a great band! They are all musical bad asses!!
Future Says Run
Probably the most underrated song ever written
Tonic rocks! What a great show...every song!
I've never been fortunate enough to see these guys live. This is incredible! I'm not just some random they can do no wrong Fanboy boy either I was genuinely shocked how good they sounded live having heard their albums. I expected much less but was genuinely stunned by the great live versions off the album material. Wow! Totally underrated band!
They sound justcas good live as they they do on CD. They're so pure!
tears in my eyes. this is too good. the way music should be.
90s song always better, hi from Indonesia
This is just one rockin hit after another...you don't see the harmonies anymore like these guys do it. Excellent - 5 out of 5 stars!
+Phil Jones so true
+Phil Jones Not only harmonies, but "true" song writing skills. These guys have always been underrated!@
Every song is so good!!!!
so few people at the show ?! what a shame !! they deserve 100 fold
Indeed!!!!
8:50 starts
Future Say's Run
one of my favorite songs.
Never do I get sick of listening to these guys...... Fantastic
These guys are just soooooo good.....what a set!
MOUNTAIN WILL ALWAYS GIVE ME CHILLS UNTIL I SHED THIS MORTAL COIL
TY SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS
one of the best bands ever just listen to this it's freakin LIVE!!!!
I got to see these guys live where I was so close to the stage ( front row) the bass player was nearly stepping on my hands. Lol omg they knocked me back with their power!!!!
Awesome!! Thank you for posting this! Love it!! Such a Great Voice! Good Songwriter! Great Performance!
Many have said it, but I'll agree that Tonic are so underrated! Saw them live in the 90's and 20 years later, they still rock and sound great. I set their albums on random and listen for hours.
I've not seen Tonic (band) live but I did get the chance to catch Emerson at The Vanguard in Tulsa, OK and it was thoroughly enjoyable! Emerson came out with 2 guitars, a bar stool, a small table, a bottle of wine and a glass. He told stories in between songs and it was much like him being in your living room instead of a "show". And I agree with all of the the sentiments in this post about Tonic being underrated and Emersons vocals.
Fabulous band!! I stood at the stage at Dan's FEET for one of their shoes. Most unbelievable experiences!! THEY ROCKED IT!
2 clear shots of Jeffs pedalboard 25:33 & 25:41
appears to be: an ernie ball volume pedal, a vox wah, a ts9, a dyna comp, some boss digital delay, a dl4, an ehx holy grail reverb and another pedal I can't identify.. there is also a box to the side which I assume is to switch amps.
Do anyone know which boss delay this is?
or the other pedal beside the ts9?
Love their chemistry... it's so obvious they knew how great these songs truly were!
Thanks so much for this quality video. I have seen these guys 4 times and they are incredible. They just seem like they are having as much fun as the crowd. At an Iowa show last year, the lead singer (EH) came up to the bar to get a drink, and I noticed him in line...I bought it for him and he was so gracious, appreciative and cool. I will be a fan for life, and travel to any close show I can make. I agree with all the comments about them being WAY under rated. I wish music today still rocked like this...
Rod Asman did you actually get to talk to Emerson?
I miss these guys so much. I was 15 when I bought lemon parade. They are one of those bands that defined the music I grew up with. They even shaped my direction as a guitar player. I'm just so sad that I never got to see them live......😣
One of my favorite bands at the moment...theses guys are just pure song writers. Some of theses songs just give one chills...between the melody, lyrics, arrangements.... genious. They're so underated!!!
at first listen, Soldiers Daughter stunned me, but I could not tell point of view of singer until he sang "your father's son says "hold on"...OMG the brother! So many gut wrenching emotions colliding ...I fell apart and still cry at concerts on this one. Mr Golden Deal is sanother... singer is so heartbreakingly resigned to a new role and watching another assume his previous role.
this band is special! they need to keep doing it!
Some of the greatest music.
Love this Band! Emerson Hart is so talented
This concert was awesome! In one day, Tonic - Hoobastank - Collective Soul - Buck Cherry - Sammy Hagar.
Saw them in St Louis last summer, 4th of July. They are still great!
Totally awesome!!! What a show!!!
I love this performance! I should have been there. Although truthfully in 2010 I didn't know who they were. Totally my loss and I do now! This show was only 2.5 hours from me......ugh!!
One of the best live versions of You Wanted More that I have seen
Wow, loved their version of “Mountain”, very well done!
These guys are just pure awesome.
THIS IS SO GOOD, T O N I C !!!!
So good...I can watch forever!
thank you so MUCH for uploading this..Tonic is one of my favorite bands..we used to play their songs when I was in college.. the 90's will live forever! best years of rock.
Should have closed with Casual Affair. Excellent band, great performance.
Damn, they sound GOOD live!
Can't wait to see these guys on Thursday at the feast! I haven't been able to see Tonic since early 2000!
Love this live concert.. the best.
Oh damn I wish I could have seen this live. Great performance. Thanks for the great quality :)
Direct TV was recording the concert. This is their video/audio. That’s why the quality is A+.
Kevin "big right foot" Murphy driving the train!
Great memories, love Tonic....good band. Saw them live at the Brat Stop in Kenosha, Wisconsin in the early 2000's, my sisters first concert.
Lets see, 4 guys actually playing instruments, no computers or autotune, guitars actually have chords in them, how can these guys sound like this. Oh wait they have fucking talent. What a totally underrated band. This is fantastic. BTW there are 8 idiots giving these guys a thumb down Must be R Kelly fans.
Saw them with tall dark haired lady at house of blues back in 2001, they are still around, the lady not so.....sounded great!
I hung out with Emerson at a party in NYC in 99 or 2000. Great guy. He put up with me asking him a million questions and was super cool while I got black out drunk on jack daniels. Ahhh youth...
Love these guys. Favorite 90s band. So much tallent. Would drive a thousand miles just to watch them perform live!Would love to see them reunite and really be recognized like they deserve.
how I wish they included Soldiers Daughter on their setlist.. always the best performance as expected.. still watching in 2018!
34:30 you're welcome.
Michael Lauritzen yes. thank you
Wow, I only knew of one song, maybe two. Great show and great quality!
Holding lightly
Words that make you aware
Your head's spinning
No one knows you're not there
Blankly staring
Strangers call you a friend
The power you hold
Is a power that mends
You can't go on
No you can't even talk
Your future says run
But you can't even walk
So you harbor
Standing idly by
Indescretions, slowly turn into lies
Your're half empty
They don't know how it feels
The power inside
Is a power that heals
But You can't go on
No you can't even talk
Your future says run
But you can't even walk
So poetic and true to life. I saw them live and it was amazing!
@@tiffanyeyre404Such a good group!
They are fucking incredible live
What a friggin waste/tragedy... these guys are consummate musicians who wrote 1st rate rockin songs and played the crap outta them... for an unworthy crowd of maybe 200? Whatta waste of great music. Thank gawd it was captured on quality tape for music lovers everywhere to enjoy forever. Just strait up rock n roll, played kickin' loud and well. Great band!
Thanks for sharing this. I would have loved to have seen this live. What an amazing concert.
Love Tonic of this time.
Superb THANXXXXXXX
They sound better than ever here.
I love this fucking band someday I’ll get to see them they tour in Iowa a lot. Mountain is probably one of my favorites and so is future says run. They just released a new single hopefully there will be an album out this year.
THIS GROUP HAS GOOD MEMORIES
Monterrey, México 2020
#TONIC
Don't let your mind tell a storie. Tonic #1
YUP..thanks for the up..
8:49 Future Says Run, cool 🛸
Thank you for the upload, these guys are absolutely great.
Great band...saw them and vertical horizon in Vegas.....they rocked harder than vh
I can't keep in touch with friends in the next town and these guy run into one another 2500 miles from where they meet.
Just a great band period.
If they could only see that this ist realy great stuff this world would be a better Place (musicialy)😅
Look up Jeff Russo. His musical credits are incredible. Love these guys. Mountain! Casual Affair! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
UNDERRATED!
Awesome concert! They sound just as great as on their albums, something that is very hard to accomplish.
The crowd noise has to be fake - every time they show the crowd they look like they're just standing wondering when the next band comes on.
If this wasn't studio augmented, these are great sounding performances.
I know wtf was there deal
@29:43 only a musician can only understand what happened, the singers look at the bassist says it all haha
"That's what you gotta do"
RIGHT ON!
That crowd is useless. Amazing band...great quality...just like the studio version. My god people wake up!! These guys are sooooo good...ask any musician.
A crowd standing and watching is a sign of great respect... Jumping around and being a dick usually means the band is crap.
Can I buy this? I can't find ANY Tonic music dvds anywhere!
This is a fantastic set from Tonic. Emerson Hart's soaring tenor voice with Jeff Russo's heavy guitar make their music stand out from other bands of that era.
Tight!
You 'guys' should Play at Glastunbury this SUMMER and JAM with MUSE, on TOP FALLS DOWN, but at the End, when you 'Vamp Out', go into Extended 'Zeppelin-esque', Prog Muse Jam. Crowd would 'go Crazy', Trust me. ;)
