oh. my. this is what every college choir should sound (and look) like. singing mixed, so controlled, excellent diction and dynamics, beautiful respect for the material. these young people are blessed to study under this conductor and in this department.
The BASS! The blend. The dymanics. Gorgeous. Allen Hightower fan. He gets great sound out of his choirs.
don't forget the altos. this particular piece really showcases the lower registers beautifully.
@@kalevala29 This particular arrangement by Norman Luboff
I left my faith years ago, but this traditional hymn will always be dear to my heart. One of the best that humankind has to offer.
Hello dear, if you wouldn't mind to listen to "The Road Home" by Stephen Paulus.
Its beautiful.
Jesus is real! God bless❤

Matthew 11:28-30 KJV
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Deep calleth unto deep ... all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.
- Psalm 42:7

I think Harry Thacker Burleigh would approve.
Dr. Hightower, your music insight has only gotten better as the years pass. I was honored to be in your choir at Sam Houston State in 2002. I‘ve never forgotten you or the words you encouraged me with. If I never see you again in this world I look forward to seeing you in heaven where our Lord Jesus reigns!
I sincerely think that UNT choir is one of the best I have heard
I love how everyone seems to be singing at their lowest registers. It makes it sound like it is being sung by a bass/baritone, the way it sounds best.
my choir just sang this for our concert and it’s my favorite song in our set🫶
I still get goosebumps whenever I hear this song. This is a wonderful performance.
I'm always so impressed with US university choirs, beautiful singing!
Thank you for honoring my family. The Wings Over Jordan Choir.
Norman Luboff - extraordinary artist.
Really enjoyed singing Luboff arrangements 'back in the day.'
This is a wonderful college choir with a gifted conductor. It sounds like a professional chorus. And that alto section has some seriously beautiful voices in there.
Exquisite! We had the privilege to sing this at UNT the year Norman passed. Just lovely. Bravo!
Wow! That was excellent! The harmony and voice control was superb!
The best rendition. ❤
Stunning
Surely one of the premiere choral groups on earth at this time. You're ministering to many souls. Keep it up.
Merveilleux spiritual.!
This is just absolutely gorgeous. The music is vibrating through each body and reaching us through screens.

This sounds absolutley beautiful, we are practicing this with my choir but it seems like we have a long way to go!

Oh, don't you want to go,
To the gospel feast.
That promised land,
Where all, is peace.
Oh, deep River, Lord,
I want to cross over into campground.
I sang this in high school chorus... beautiful!! just beautiful thank you for posting
That was simply magnificent. You are every bit the equal of the MTC.
Wonderful! One of the best arrangements and performances of deep river out there!
I agree and for an individual singing, this is my favorite. Tell me what you think.

Bellísimo.gracias.
Bravo!!!👏🏾
This is actually quite impressive. As a person of color, the interpretation of this piece compared to many other choirs is beyond extraordinary; so thank you for this wonderful performance. Not at all what I expected.
What does your color have to do with this?
@@bengibson6954 This is literally an African American spiritual, lol.
@@iamtruvon yeah and our color does not predicate our ability to appreciate it
@@bengibson6954 Okay 💀.
Very good. Congratulations.
Superb! Many thanks for all your hard work and beautiful voices.
1963ish…I was in a state wide choir of 3000ish. We sang this.
Truly beautiful.
The old Miss. the old Man.

Excellent arrangement and very beautifully sung. Any idea where I can buy the sheet music this exact arrangement?
うつくしい
could this be the one that inspired the Largo movement in Dvorák's 9th?
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
So just technically speaking: would this be categorized as spiritual or gospel?
Spiritual

Amazing performance. The sound quality is exceptional. As an A Cappella Choir, the presentation would have been better if the eyes of the choir weren't constantly glancing down at sheet music.
lak spricht jemand deutsch ✌✌😂😂🤣🤣
Stunning!
