Mirabel finally knocking Abuela off her high horse is one of the most satisfying moments in Disney history.
I can't tell you how many times I wanted a protagonist to say these exact words, only for them to run away crying like a little bitch. This was such a cathartic breath of fresh air.
Yeah in all fairness she needed to hear that. I mean everyone looked up to her and treated her like the boss all because she was the one who started it all but in the end she was also the reason it was ending.

The miracle dying was indeed because of Abuela. The miracle started because she wanted to protect her family whenever her husband died. But as she got more focused on keeping the candle lit, she lost sight of her family. She lost sight of the reason she was given the Casita. Each time she tries to keep the miracle "safe" by pushing away her family, it does the opposite. The candle doesn't burn with wax. It burns with the love of the Madrigals. It burns through the unity of their family. That's why the cracks started when Mirabel wasn't given her powers. It's because Abuela neglected her. Her own flesh and blood. The miracle was the power of love.
the miracle is each of us, all deserving of love, and all with something to offer our family and neighbors, even if it doesn't seem material

@@tiffanyillig48 i jeard of this theory and i rlly like it! If im not wring i think the theory is that the candle holds abuelos spirit. And when abuelo saw how abuela was treating the rest of the family his heart broke basically cracking like the cracks in the house. And when he saw this final fight, he lost all hope of abuela changing so he let go. And the final scene he came back because he felt the love his family had for each other when they made up. Pretty sure thats the full theory
Everything she said is true about her grandmother and Bruno... Bruno loves his family and he’s trying to help them see the future but the grandma only sees darkness in him

@@legoferdinand2183 intentions and behavours are not always same, abuela LOVED her family but she didnt act like she did cause she was blinded bu the fear of loosing everything, that doesnt mean that she didnt care which is what mirabel realized at the end of Movie.

No one has mentioned this but it’s so sad, Isabella looks so uncomfortable at the first sign of confrontation without even saying a word in defense for Mirabel or herself

The best thing about the scene for me are the shifts in Abuela.
At first, she's concerned and disheartened when she goes inside, seeing the Casita all messed up, on top on dealing with everything wrong with the miracle already, and when she starts talking to Mirabel she's not angry yet, she's more worried and nervous about fixing everything.
After she tells her to stop, you can see her switching between sadness and rage, because the cracks and Bruno leaving aren't things that were really Mirabel's fault, and she doesn't want to scold her for that, but then she talks about Luisa and Isabela and she gets really angry, because these are thing that actually are Mirabel's fault (though not in the way Abuela thinks), for then to get a bit sad and guilty again when she mentions the lack of her gift, thougt by now she can't stop arguing with her; even when Mirabel is saying she'll never be good enough, Abuela mantain her facade, because, being the matriarch, she can never admit she's wrong.
When she talks about Bruno, she starts angry, spitting out "Bruno" with ferocity, but when she says "didn't *care* about this family" you can both hear voice break a little and how she looks pained for a brief moment: the thought that her son didn't love their family is extremely painful and raw for her, even after 10 years, so when Mirabel going right after she becomes more panicked, because if it's not her granddaughter fault... then it's hers. *She* pushed her Brunito away.
*She* is the one ruining everything.
Alma Madrigal betrayed her family and destroyed everything including their Casita because of her selfishness!!! She’s the cause of all this!! She’s BAD!!!

The community is dependent on her miracle, so she doesn't feel like she can let anyone in or spread the responsibility around, which only tightens her grip on an unstable dynamic. It's not that she wants things for herself, it's that she THINKS she wants everyone else's well-being but is too scared to think of long-term sustainable organizing and thinks that everyone needs to rely on the gifts her family has been given, because what is this magic if not the very foundation of their survival? She's acting cruel and self-centered because she's fucking terrified, and that pain passes down to her family the longer it isn't faced

Tbh I was really happy when Mirabel told Abuela off at long last- and I was annoyed that her parents didn't do it sooner on her behalf. Sure her parents are loving and kind to her but they stood by and allowed Abuela to emotionally neglect and abuse Mirabel and to a lesser extent the other girls.
Still sad that none of her sisters stood up for her :( even when they knew MIRABEL was in the right
@@Tipsylilly Indeed, I think Isabella had just internalised Abuela's worldview too much but Luisa could have said something. The bit that really bothered me was when Antonio got his gift, he was literally the only one to try and get Mirabel involved in the ceremony, and nobody at all said, "hey, Mirabel should be in the photograph too!" So sad :(

I'm on Mirabel's side and she's right because Abuela accused her of tearing the family apart and Bruno loves his family and he’s trying to help them see the future but the grandma only sees darkness in him and she defends herself, the family, Luisa, Isabela and Bruno. Great job Mirabel and I love her so much🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

1:45: Mirabel finally opens Alma’s eyes and Alma realizes ALL the damages she’s done after many many years! Now, she’s wracked with realization, guilt, regret, and sadness.
I really wonder if this scene took a dark turn, Mirabel would unload a hidden DARK Anger that would not only scare and terrify her (especially Alma) but the village as well; resulting in them becoming more careful around her!
What if in Mirabel’s growing anger the ghostly voice of Pedro Madrigal would echo along with her in disappointment towards Alma?

I feel bad for both Mirabel and Bruno in this movie! Bruno tells bad visions and now everyone, including his own SISTER, hates him and then just told lies to her children. And Abuela accused him of not caring. The future isn't always gonna be a good thing, but considering the intelligence of the townsfolk, I'm not surprised. Now we have our loveable protagonist Mirabel. She gets no gift and now she gets neglected and took the role of the black sheep in Bruno's favor.

The only person who’s to be blamed for the family crisis is you, Alma! The magic is fading because of your uncontrolled arrogance, negligence, ignorance, and selfishness! Bruno and Mirabel love the family and they care very deeply about the family! They both want to save the house and the magic just as much as you do!
