    I bought the 22 inch Toro electric mower and I love no longer having a gasoline powered mower. My gas mower was also a Toro and the improvements they made are great. Your videos are outstanding. Thank you

    I just got this lawnmower and love it. I've never used the Personal Pace system before, but I've had none of the problems using it that others have described on TH-cam. It's so smooth and makes the mowing so easy you feel like you cheated.

      I love the battery lawn equipment also however, it's not a 100% replacement and never look back unfortunately. I have the EGO mower, edger and 22" bristle brush. I will be the first to say that I'm all on the edger however the mowers simply do not have the suction power of gas mowers. I love the mower and will continue to use but will always have my Honda gas mower ready for the dirty work.

    My current yard is so small it just made sense to go with battery operated mower. It's been good for 6 years and the batteries are still good and I still get 3-4 mows before I recharge.(I'm doing less than 1500 sq). I mow every 3-4 days. I just shake my head when a neighbor brings home the Big Box du jour gas mower and trimmer. I'm just like...why? You could mow the yard with a beard trimmer. lol

    I reel mow real low a few times a week with a Hudson Star manual reel mower which is fantastic but a few times a month I rake out my thatch and leaves and use my now ten month old 60V Recycler which replaced an old gas Toro Recycler to vacuum and bag. Mine isn’t self propelled because I wanted more range and reliability and my grassed areas are rather small. I’m very happy with its performance and find that without engine maintenance I’m sharpening my blades more often.

    Great video/bad mower! Hate the steel decks that tend to buildup & clog needing cleaning; my battery mower has a plastic deck with no buildup, clogging, or rusting out. That Toro mower also needs a single lever height adjustment.

    • @TheLawnWhisperer

    I have been running into that same trimmer issue lately. I have been using a straight shaft Homelite for 19 years. I recently got an Echo gas trimmer. The Echo turns opposite of my old Homelite. I’m having to adapt to it. I thought all trimmers cut the same, but it turns out curved shaft trimmers and some gas models are different. It may be that some electric weed eaters turn clockwise as well.

  • @krusej23

    Did you check the bagger chute when the mower was leaving clippings? My guess is that it was getting clogged up since the grass looks damp and super tall. My JD rider will do that if I mow somewhat damp grass. Just clean it and then it's good to go until it clogs again.

    Ego mower with lift blade will pack the bag tight with clippings. Even in tall st. augustine grass. Leaving hardly anything behind. When the grass is wet then things being to clump up, but it will still cut it.

    • @TheLawnWhisperer
      @TheLawnWhisperer  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This mower had no issue cutting it. It had an issue with not clumping up cutting 9" tall grass, which is to be expected. I bet the ego still would have struggled in this same situation

    • @webeducation
      @webeducation 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheLawnWhisperer that's very much possible as I have not cut grass quite that tall I believe. Have done tall cuts but never measured them. I do believe the blades make a big difference though. Especially the mulching blades which are heavier but reduce runtime significantly by around 50% or so. Which is one of the downsides of the ego. Great video. Think Toro is definitely taking the right direction here.

  • @bc9054
    @bc9054 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Good timing on this video. We have just shy of 27,000 square feet of grass. We have a rider for a majority of it but hand mow the front yard and trim the back yard. Have wondered about getting an electric mower as our hand mower. Just worry about the battery not lasting long enough to take care of all of it. Been looking at ego and Kobalt...maybe I need to look into Toro as well.
    I have also heard that electric mowers like to leave the area where the wheels have matted down the grass uncut. Did you notice that at all when you had the long grass?

    After using this mower for a couple months, I absolutely hate it.
    So maybe a bit biased, I own a company that services over 400 lawns per week. I bought this for my cookie cutter tiny lawn at home. And frankly, the cut quality or bagging ability doesn’t even come close to a gas powered comparative.
    If there was a way to lock it into the “high speed” mode it may be better, but bagging still sucks and it leaves trails unless you are cutting the lawn every day it seems.
    Definitely not happy and regret buying it!
